There is lots to do here in Ontario. Wonderland should be opening soon. Lots of campgrounds open. I really do hope you quarantine upon returning. We are going to Disney for a total of three and a half weeks...I can’t wait. We are not really into camping (no offence to those that are, I just have a horrible relationship with mosquitoes and black flies from time spent in Muskoka through the years) and there is nothing else to do here in Toronto with the Islands closed and things not really opening up. We did manage to squeeze a few weeks of camp out of the whole mess, so that’s a welcome thing! We thought about going to NYC to visit friends, but ultimately decided that having more to do during the day at Disney would be preferable.

I’ve heard they are not going to open this summer. The government won’t allow it.My trailer is open so will be spending my vacation there. As well as hoping Wonderland opens so I can get my theme park fix.

I can't believe any one would want to go to a hot bed of Covid-19 right now. I love going to US theme parks but til they get it under control I have no interest.
Ok first off, you may not want to hear this but as long as the borders are supposed to be “closed” to non-essential travel this really isn’t cool. I don’t care if you found a loophole that allows you to travel.
Second, please make sure you absolutely follow the 14 day isolation when you return. I mean don’t even set foot inside a grocery store, pharmacy, nothing. And absolutely do not send your kids to any camp or school after your trip.

Yep, we definitely have that quarantine built into our plans! We are not concerned about catching the virus at Disney.
One of the great things about this forum, I find, is that members are open-minded enough to allow others to make personal decisions for themselves and their families without others jumping in to try to yuck their yum. So, I am very glad that you have things to look forward to doing this summer, and that you are able to respect our wishes to go where we like without it affecting your life in the least. I’m sure that you will enjoy going back to Disney when you are comfortable doing so and I respect that choice. I would hope that you would do the same for others.
There is no loophole. Non-essential travel is closed to land border crossings only. This has been the case from the beginning back in March.
I’m not sure why the immediate assumption is that we wouldn’t fully quarantine upon return. There was never a chance we wouldn’t. It’s worth it to us.
Good for you! Enjoy your trip. And definitely not a loophole, as the border is legally open to air travel. Just quarantine appropriately when you return, as you have indicated you will, and you'll be fine. So jealous of your chance to get away!I’ve heard they are not going to open this summer. The government won’t allow it.

Camping and outdoor activities like hiking, going to beach, fishing.
We are lucky in Northwestern Ontario. Lots of space to have fun and social distance. Yesterday we went to a beach and there were 5 other groups there. Plenty of space.
We are camping next week, then I lucked out, seeing a friend's FB post almost as soon as he posted it about a camp rental. So I booked 2 weeks at the end of August for an incredible price, right on the lake. I plan to do some work from there though, but it will be easier answering emails from a deck overlooking the water than in the 4 walls I've been stuck since COVID struck.
There are a ton of all inclusive resorts (or just cabin rentals) in Northwestern Ontario looking for customers since the border is closed, if anyone is interested in fishing. Most have lots of activities like kayaking, water slides, etc. for kids too. If you're into the outdoors and love beautiful scenery, you won't be disappointed with a road trip along the North Shore of Lake Superior either.
We're things open? Lost our Disney World and cruise vacation. DH still wants to do something. But even if we go somewhere, I'm not sure anything touristy will be open to see.We just spent 3 nights at Embassy Suites in Niagara this past weekend(it was supposed to be one night but we kept on extending because it was nice to be out of the house). Then in 2 weeks we have a house rented in Port Dover for 2 weeks. The beach is closed there but at least it will feel more relaxing being out of our own house.
Most attractions in Niagara falls are open now. The only things really not open are the casino or the amusement park. We're things open? Lost our Disney World and cruise vacation. DH still wants to do something. But even if we go somewhere, I'm not sure anything touristy will be open to see.
What are you looking to do? Kids? Ages? Interests? How far do you want to drive?I have been searching for resorts in Ontario but I feel like a fish out of water. It isn't our usual vacation. Can you by chance recommend some resorts in Northwestern Ontario? Sincerely appreciate it.
Deerhurst Resort is open. There are both a regular resort and have a timeshare that DVC members can trade through RCI. My DH and I had 28 hours without the kids before school one year and very much enjoyed it. It is in Huntsville, about 2 1/2 hours north of Toronto. They have at least two nice restaurants with patios, one indoor pool, outdoor pool and waterfront. Close to Algonquin and Arrowhead parks, there is a petting zoo, canoes and kayaks, ATV rentals and hopefully their waterfront inflatable obstacle course will open up.We really enjoyed it and would consider taking the kids there.
Yeah, no plans here either and we don't even HAVE a yard! I can sit on the front step and if i want to feel adventurous I can stand under the tree at the edge of the gardenNothing
My backyard and occasionally my front yard.
First time having no summer plans.
Renting a cottage has never appealed to us.
