Here are the dynamics:
DH, me, and DD10
June, anytime after June 12th (last day of school)
7 days
Driving from MD
Onsite if possible
Including food
Is this even possible?
Was also going to say it is doable. I used the Spring "room only" offer and priced June 13 to June 20 (check-out) and added 8 day Magic your way park tickets. In a standard room at All Stars it comes out to $1179. This does not include dining and I guess you would have to call to add it on? Or b/c it is a "room only" offer will it not allow you to add dining?
I went back and looked at the room(POP) only you are pricing....and doing it that way and adding the 7 day hoppers and quick service its $2566.54 and with the regular plan its $2900.44....so a little cheaper.
With the mod its $2892.86 with quick service and $3226.76
Of course you could drop the hopper option and that would take off about $165 or so. I think its $55 extra per ticket. We usually dont get it, but at that time in June you may want it. You could always go without it and add it once you get there if you feel you need it.
I don't think we would do hoppers, or we would add them if we needed them when we got there....we would do the water parks though (MY fave!!). I figure adding in driving down and everything would put us at about $3,500. I'd love it if they would offer free dining though.
yes it;s do-able,don't bother paying for a dining plan, just plan what you want to eat,and where, and it will cost you less....especially if you eat a lot of QS foods anyway...dining plan is WAY too expensive, and overrated.

I agree with this. Since your DD is 10, you would have to buy the adult dining plan for her but she might be satisfied with something off the kids menu. So the adult plan might be a real waste for her. You can look at menus here on the Dis or at allearsnet.com and get a feel for what it would cost you to just pay OOP for your meals.
Since you're driving down, I would recommend taking a cooler and some breakfast stuff so you can eat breakfast in the room before you head out for the day. We usually do this and also have some stuff on hand for snacks and easy meals like sandwiches and salads. We've also packed water bottles and fruit and crackers and such into a small backpack cooler and taken it into the parks with us. It was nice to be able to snack pretty much wherever/whenever we wanted with no waiting in line at a snack cart. And it saved us a good bit of money too.
Another moneysaver would be to sign up for the newsletter at mousesavers.com. You will get a link to a special price on park tickets from Undercover Tourist. They are very reliable - many folks on here have bought their tickets thru them. It isn't a huge savings but every little bit helps. And from what I understand, these can be programmed onto your room keys at check-in if you'd like.
