Only two evenings... which nighttime "spectacular" do you see?

My favorite night time spectacular is me at the villa with a/c on full blast and a cold beer. Second choice is Wishes, followed by the Star Wars fireworks because I haven't seen them yet. :earsboy:

I find picking the nightmare entertainment the hardest.

I would choose SW Fireworks - I have not seen them yet, and that's the first reason, but I'm also reading about how awesome they are.

My 2nd choice would be Illuminations. I really like that show and if you've never seen it, it's worth it. I may be inclined to switch that to ROL, if the reviews for it once it's out are very positive.

I love Wishes & Fantasmic, but I would skip those since they have already been seen.

Just a quick follow up question! I see that someone has done both Fantasmic and the current Star Wars fireworks - this is my group's plan. I'm going to DHS Oct 28, and I see Fantasmic listed at 7:30, but there are no fireworks times listed (in fact, the new Star Wars fireworks show debuting in a couple of weeks only have scheduled times through the first few days of July!!). Is it safe to assume that Disney WILL add the show to October, and that both Fantasmic and Star Wars fireworks will show on the same night? Thanks in advance!
We don't know until Disney makes it official.

Just a note: there are times when you can't get out of the Fantasmic seating area before the Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular (SITDAGS) starts. I have been caught up in this issue twice recently. Disney notes that during SITDAGS select walkways and attractions will be closed to Guests.

LOL. This sounds just like my husband!!!

You say you have 2 nights, so...
1. Celebrate the magic followed by Wishes. Pick a spot about 15 minutes before CTM, on main street, just behind the masking tape extending the sidewalks. If you toe the line, no one can stand in front of you for the width of the sidewalk. Makes great viewing for both.
2. Fantasmic followed by Star Wars. Since you've seen F! you know it's spectacular and worth it. Leave about 1 minute before the end and you can exit the theater quickly and head for a spot up near the Chinese Theater.

Of course, I can't speak for the ROL. That would be my first choice as it's new.
I agree with others, Illuminations would only be in the plans if I had done the others or was in the park anyway.

So you only have two evenings in which to watch evening entertainment (ROL, Fantasmic, Wishes, IllumiNations, Star Wars Fireworks etc). Assume you've already seen Wishes and Fantasmic, what do you go see, and why?
I always try to see something I haven't seen already. (and I worked nights at MK for a few months so Wishes is kind of played it for me lol) I'd do Star Wars because it sounds cool with the projections, and RoL because it could be a spectacular trainwreck, if it's even showing when you visit next.

Fantasmic was my favorite of all of them, maybe because we were on the front row and got both wet and hot from the flames?
I could care less about watching Illuminations again but my husband loves it, so I eat my Fish N Chips so he can see it, but I am trying to talk him into riding rides when everyone else watches it this year.
I am very excited to see the new ones though! We really try to go see all the night time shows though so I would have a hard time picking (We even streamed the Disney New Years Countdown)

Star Wars would be number one for us.

Second choice is Illuminations.

we don't care for wishes or fantasmic.

illuminations is an absolute must for us! (mostly for the music and fireworks)

haven't seen the star wars fireworks or ROL as of yet obviously but between them i'd probably opt for ROL.

so illuminations and ROL would be my picks.

I LOVE Illuminations. It's the one I absolutely would not miss.

And my daughter feels the same way about Wishes.

So those are my two choices.

I'm so nervous for the new SW fireworks show. The current SW fireworks are fantastic! Not sure how the new show will top it. The projection, laser and fire better be on point

At first I thought, this one is pretty easy, if you are deciding on the FIREWORKS alone. As I thought a little more on the subject, it occurred to me that personally, our evenings aren't based on fireworks alone. Our evening plans are based on a combination of factors, including but limited to: where we are staying, ease of post-show transportation, dining, what my group wants to do.

Personally, and this is just me, but I'd ask my companions what they want to do, where they want to eat, and what kind of travel woes they want to endure.

If you are staying at the Poly, and eating at 'Ohana, then we'd probably favor Wishes. If your resort/dining plans are at the Swan, I'd favor fireworks in that area.

If someone in my party has limited mobility or endurance, then ease of travel post-show climbs to the top of my priority list.
