Only seats left are premium...am I SOL?

I have a reservation on a small regional flight on NWA and I can't pick a seat because all that's left are exit-row and Worldperks seats...my travel companion has a seat but I can't get one. Do I have to worry about being bumped? Or will they put me in the exit row? We leave Thursday.

I would make sure to get to the airport early. I was unable to get a seat assignments on a Delta flight once. We had no problem getting five seats together when we checked in. I was there over two hours ahead.

Sometimes the airline holds seats for people that check in at the airport or something like that

They will usually open up the preferred seats 24 hours prior when you can do online check-in.

If you can check in on-line, you may see that there are seats opened up. Even if they're not together, perhaps someone might be willing to switch so you can sit together. If not, plan on getting to the airport early, as others have said.

You should be fine. I fly NWA PIT/MSP pretty often and there have been times where I did not have a seat assignment until the 24 hour check-in. I am flying them tomorrow night, I had a middle seat reserved when I bought the ticket a few weeks ago. Last weekend an aisle seat opened up and I grabbed it. Keep checking your seat assignment on their website. If a seat opens up, you can click on it and reserve it.

We just flew on NWA this past week. We made a last minute trip over fall break to WDW. When I bought the tickets, there were no seats available. On the way down, the airline assigned us to row 8, which are the premium seats. On the way back, we were in row 9 and 10, also in their premium section. On the way down, we were seated together. On the way back, we weren't, but were able to switch with another party at the check in counter.
