We only have one day at Magic Kingdom and will arrive after 11:00 am. It is going to be a tight schedule, but we must see the Kingdom!
Could anyone here be kind enough to give me a quick schedule of what we should visit first and an order of what to ride during the day and evening.
My kids are 23, 19 and 16. We are not interested in the children's rides or land (although Small World, Tea Cups and Pirates is not to be missed) , shows or the parades (we plan to take advantage of the parade time to ride). We also don't need to see Swiss Family Tree House or the Kiki Birds.
If we have time, we may take in a "must do" show.
Our last trip was in 2000 and Pirates was closed. Are there any new rides out at MK since then?
I got out my handy Birnbaum's, but realized that the publishing date was 1992. Me thinks it is a little outdated.
Thanks in advance for any help! ;)

Well, Small World is closed for refurbishment until next year, so you don't have to worry about that one.

I would head to Adventureland first and do Pirates, Splash Mountain, and the Jungle Cruise (if you want to do that one). Then, head to Fantasyland to see the new Mickey 3D movie - it's not to be missed!

By that time it will be parade time (3:00), so you should take advantage of that time to ride the tea cups, then go over to Space Mountain and anything else in Tomorrowland you want to do.

By then, you'll have the "big" rides out of the way, so you can relax and enjoy the rest of the day/evening! :)

Don't worry - since you don't have little kids that want to ride Dumbo and the other slow-loading rides, you won't have a problem seeing everything you want to see!

Get a list of FAST PASS attractions and plan around them ! Critical if you are short on time. Always try to plan something that is non-fast pass or lunch while you wait for the pass

Head to one first (ie Splash Mtn) pull a ticket, then ride something close by that is not fast pass such as Pirates.

I would also skip parade, that keeps half the folks busy so you can get on rides faster.

Mickey's 3D is great.

Not sure when Buzz Lightyear opened but fun for all ages !

Other than those, I don't think there is anything else new for you.

You didn't mention if you'll have the ability to do an e-night?

If you're eligible by all means take advantage of it.

Also the show mentioned was Mickey's PhilarMagic. It's very good even for your children. It may be a little corny but Buzz Lightyear is also fun, but not a thrilling, ride.

Also Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a fun roller coaster right next to Splash Moutain.

I am just crushed that Small World is not opened! :( How can you go to Disney and not have Small World? We may have to forgo MK and go to MGM instead.

Buzz Light Years was new in 2000 and we plan to ride that again as well as all the other rides mentioned. Not too sure about the Jungle Cruise unless we need a cool down.

What is Mickey's 3-D?

I thought the parades were at night? We will be there on a Sunday, so E-night is out. Thanks for the Past Pass reminder.

i agree with everyone else..go see Mickey's PhilarMagic......im 19 and just went and we went to see it twice..i thought it was adorable...have fun!

We also want to ride the people Mover...it's a classic.

Does anyone else have an itenery that you would advice for us?

I think the Unofficial Guide touring plans might be for you. You can find them at www.touringplans.com - basically you tell them when you are going, what time you want to start and what rides are essential. You can also put in breaks and parades.

Using the very cutting edge of computer technology they will then work out a step by step itinerary for you. They claim (with good reason it seems) that their plans are the quickest way of getting around Disney!

Just note the customised plans cost $12 (although you can get free ones for each park in the Unofficial Guidebook).

THANKS!:wave2:

Here is what we plan on doing:

Adventureland

Magic Carpets of Aladdin
Pirates of the Carribbean

Fantasyland

Cinderella's Golden Carousel
Mad Tea Party
Peter Pan's Flight
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Mickey's PhilharMagic

Frontierland

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Splash Mountain
Walt Disney World Railroad (Frontierland Station)

Liberty Square

Haunted Mansion

Main Street

Walt Disney World Railroad (Main Street Station)

Tomorrowland

Astro-Orbiter
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
Space Mountain
Tomorrowland Speedway
Tomorrowland Transit Authority

Sounds like a great itinerary! And, if MK is open pretty late that day, you should be able to squeeze it all in, especially if you don't stand and watch the parade.

If you decide it will be too tight, the two rides you have listed that will take the most time in line are Alladin and Tomorrowland Speedway.

Have a great time! :)

We were not exactly sure what Alladin was and if it would be much fun for 5 adults. The Tomorrowland Speedway is just a tradition with the family (as was Small World :(). We get kind of silly on Speedway.

Can anyone tell me which of the rides in my itenery have a Fast Pass? Thank you! :)

Aladdin is like Dumbo except you can tilt it alittle bit.

Astro-orbiter, if not a must, is a very slow loader !!! DH and I always have "discussions" about riding this.

FAST PASS -

Splash Mtn & Big Thunder (both will have their boxes shut down fairly early)

Peter Pan & Pooh & Mickey's 3d

Haunted Mansion

Buzz Lightyear

Space Mtn

Unfortunately NOT speedway

Jungle Cruise, just in case, but we went this last trip and remembered why we usually skip it

Aladdin - We may be able to skip.
Astro-orbiter - We rode this at an E-night and it was fun! We may be able to skip this also, or just wait until night time.

What do you mean by - "Splash Mtn & Big Thunder (both will have their boxes shut down fairly early)"

The ticket times are spaced out to keep the fast pass line moving. These are so popular that often it runs out of times to give earlier in the day than the other rides (of course it depends on crowds). It may be the case at Space Mtn too but we usually do that once early and then we are done with it.

We have never been able to get a fastpass mid afternoon on.........when we go in summer.......In May we rode twice and I know the second time we went back the boxes were covered.

BUT, we found on several trips that you can practically walk on to Splash Mountain closer to closing time. BTR, however, is usually still crowded in standby....but I guess it is a coaster.

I don't think you mentioned when you will be there. That would help with deciding what to do and when. And regarding the parade.... the daytime parade at the MK is the Share a Dream Come True parade at 3pm. The nightime parade is "SpectroMagic" but it doesn't run every night. Also, there is the "Wishes" fireworks that is every night in the MK........P
