a woman with platinum hair in a beehive hairdo circa 1963. she must have used a ton of hairspray to get that look.

she was also wearing a leopard coat and spike heeled shoes.

Oh my! I hope she was in costume.

I ran into 7-11 last night after my show with a very 1940 hairstyle with a wave and all. I was pretty embarrassed, but I was going back to the theater. I had my hair done early, then wanted a DP. So, I threw a jacket on and out I went. I'm sure the clerk had a story when he went home that night. I hope this is her story too. Costume for a show. Or, it's just NYC.

I live a sheltered live here in se georgia we just don't get entertainment like that.LOL

She was probably on her way to a job interview with Snoopy. ;)

You just described a lady I used to go to church with. She has got to be about 70 if not older and still looks and dresses like that. You can spot Milly from a mile away, she's looked the same for the last 20 years that I've known her.

You know those 'wiglets' from years ago? You pull all your own hair on top of your head in a tight bun and then you perch this fake bunch of curls on top as if it were a beanie?

Well, this woman at work (she finally retired about a year ago) had one of them (although it might have been several, how would we know?) Year after year, she used to pull her hair up every morning and affix this 'wiglet' on the top. Nice woman, but it was hard not to stare at her 'hair'. She was definitely caught in a time warp.

Uh... are you sure it was a woman? You never know these days...

In NYC? I'll bet you were the only person who noticed her!

I was walking through Port Authority a few weeks ago, and saw a man in scuba gear flip flopping his way along. I cracked up, since only TWO people even reacted to this guy passing by! :)

Only in New York...

I'll never forget seeing the Camels being walked around Rockefellar Center at Christmas time. Not one person even gave a second thought to the fact that there was a pack of camels walking down the sidewalk in downtown Manhattan. Only in NYC..LOL.

That's what I was going to say.

Maybe she was coming from a "Hairspray" party!
Isn't that still on Broadway?

I used to commute with a woman who had a platinum behive hairdo......black eyeliner and spiked heels. Hmmmm....wonder if it could be her......:p

All I can think of is "Love Shack Baby"!

Wow, she sounds fun to me! I love that retro look, always wished my hair would do a beehive. :teeth:

BR, do you recall that picture I put up here from my trip to NYC a few years back, the one of the lady who posed for me that was all decked out in outlandish pink with the pink motorscooter all wrapped up in duct tape? THAT just screams NYC!!!!!

PS: Still need to get a Sabrett's with you some day. :)
