only???13 more sails till sept 14 wonder??

well i think that meeting on the deck party would be fun of course on the boards i am not shy in person i am quiet . but i think it would be fun. greem ribbons?/ or what lets get this going!PS
sounds like the Queen job is taken in your soon to be family.. you need to go for another job !! lol:D

Yes, the bride has always thought she was the Queen....bad news is that my younger DD (13) actually has clothing and such that state that she is the "Princess"!!! What kind of wedding can we do for the "Princess" that will top the "Queen's" Disney cruise??? And where, Huckster, does that put me? The court Jester for letting them believe it all along! :jester: It seemed sorta cute when they were little!
As for when, where, and how to meet....the sail away party was a zoo! I don't see how we could do it. Except that we found that the deck above the actual party (would that be deck 10?) was not very crowded at all. Did someone somewhere say something about Mickey paint sample things at Home Depot? We could do that. The deck party starts at what time? Right after the boat drill? So, that would be close to 5:00, right? We could meet on 10 shortly after 5:00, but someone needs to decide on what we could wear to recognize eachother. I'm not making any more decisions since the "Queen/Bride" told me the other day that she was sick of me making all of the decisions for HER wedding. Anyone else have a daughter that has gotten married?? If I waited for them to make decisions, she'd be getting married on a raft in our backyard pool!
Let us know what everyone (or someone) decides would be good!!

HMMMM daughters - you gotta love em!!!! I have three 19, 17 & 9 (have a son 18-poor guy). Those three think they are Queen of our Castle!!!!!

Meeting on Deck 10 Starboard side would work good. You can overlook the deck party and it should be less crowded there than being down on deck 9.

We're game for getting together for a meet.

Gail

Gail,
I'm going to go to Home Depot and see if they have the green Mickey paint chips. If I could figure out how to put a picture on here, I'd do that, but I'm not very good at it.
Three daughters?! Good Luck! My son is 10, so he doesn't have to take much grief. When he was younger, the girls used to put dresses, hats and makeup on him, and once they shaved all his hair off. It was right before school started and he was totally bald! I had to tell the school nurse that no, he didn't have chemotherapy over the summer!
Are you bringing the whole family? With our group of 20, I was worried about how to entertain everyone, but we are dining together and doing some of the same excursions, but also each of us are doing some things on our own, so it should work out well for everyone to be able to also enjoy some time as individual couples or families.
Deck 10 Starboard sounds good. I couldn't remember where we stood before..I was a little too overwhelmed! I'd offer to have our Meet & Greet in my room, but I have a feeling it will always be crowded with the clan that is coming with us!! "Talk" to you soon.
Off to work I go. (Heigh Ho)

Went to Home Depot today...they have Mickey heads in lots of different colors! I bought a lime green one, and also a blue one, since I'm partial to blue. Check them out. I figure I could write my name on it, and there would be no question that it is me!!
Which could be a good thing, because by then, I'm sure I'll need reminding!! :p

Huckster,
Disney has a line of paint colors at Home Depot. Some of the colors have square samples that you can take home and match up, and some of the samples are in the shape of Mickey's head. I'd read that other DIS'ers have gotten them to help them recognize eachother onboard....just for the first meeting. I guess you just pin them on your shirt. I thought about getting the special paper for my printer and making a sticker, then realized if I don't want to poke a pin thru my shirt, I can just use tape. Duh.

We're getting into the 30's on our timers!!!!!

Is there anywhere BESIDES Home Depot to get the Mickey paint things??? I live far far away from such civilized places that would have such a store!!!
(ok it's not THAT bad, but I won't be anywhere near a Home Depot until the day before we leave, and I am thinking I won't be in any state to remember it at that point!
thanks!:D

Athene,

PM me with your address and I will mail some to you. We spend plenty of time hanging out at Home Depot!!!

Let me know how many you want. Do you want the lime green ones? Disney paint comes in a rainbow of colors!

Huckster, if you can't get any let me know.

If anyone is using a lanyard with the plastic holder to hold your KTTW card you could punch a hole in the Mickey head and hang it on the lanyard - Or put it in the plastic holder.

Gail

Ladies,
PLEASE give me a break here. If you all put your lime green mickeys on your lanyards, I will spend a lot of time staring at womens chests to see if they have a lime green mickey. Now, I really have no problem being saddled with such a challenge, BUT Jeepers Lady (my DW) may tire of that excuse after a while:p
I may have on my lime green T-shirt that day or a ribbon on a hat . Just look for the short, fat, going bald guy in lime green :bounce: shouldn't be to many of them:p

Steve

Ah, Steve, you've traveled enough to know that they're all short, balding, chubby guys in lime green shirts! It's the black dress socks with shorts that sets apart the winners from the losers!
I'll stick my Mickey on my forehead, okay??
Ditto for me as to getting anyone a Mickey...they just built a new Home Depot up here in our tiny little town, and I'll use ANY excuse to go to HD!
I'm thinking we could wear any color that suits us, because we are the only ones here that are going on this cruise......just think how all those other cruisers are going to envy us for our nifty tags!! They'll probably think we're celebrities, or VIPs....and we ARE VIPs!
Stacey, Mother of Bridezilla, looking more like this  everyday!!

Welcome t the Dis Bearmouse, trying to keep up with us all can be quite a chore so make sure you check in often;)

Steve

WELCOME BearMouse! You're joining a great group!

Welcome BearMouse! Glad to see we have another sailing with us!!!
Are you sailing alone or with others?

See you in September!!!!!

Gail

Just received an e-mail this morning that Expedia is mailing my cruise docs by regular mail. Can't wait! As this is my first Disney cruise, any advice on filling them out?

Jillte: Just read through them carefully once or twice before filling anything out. To me, the most confusing part was the luggage tags, the rest was easy. To simplify: If you are arriving in Orlando and going straight to the ship on Disney's transportation (no overnight stay) attach DCL's tags before you check them at your home airport.
If you are staying overnight one night before the cruise and taking Disney's transportation the next morning, don't put the tags on until morning...you will need to gather your luggage after your flight to Orlando at baggage claim.
If you are NOT using Disney's transportation at all, then you attach your tags when you arrive at DCL port, before you check your bags onto the ship.
The tags are inside the document package, you tear them out when you're ready to use them.
When you get your docs, if you have more questions, we're ready to help!!

Thanks for the instructions! Much appreciated - I've never purchased travel through Expedia, so I hope they got everything right. I booked two rooms, but they mistakenly put my father-in-law's name as the main account name. Have tried to change it over the phone, but all the info still comes to him (as will the docs). I will review the docs carefully...

Looking forward to seeing all of you on the ship! It's all I can think about these days (I hope I'm not building it up too much in my head - I tend to do that). Either way, I think it'll be a great vacation.

Jillte...there is NO WAY that you could build it up too much in your head! I had always dreamed of cruising (too much Love Boat as a kid) and could never have imagined in my wildest dreams how unbelievable it was. Why do you think all of us repeaters are so excited?! At first, it will be a little overwhelming, but once you settle in and the ship begins to sail, the crowds thin out and you can enjoy the beauty of it. One of the best things that happened to us was that my son fell asleep after Castaway Cay, so we missed the show we were going to go to...my daughter and I took the video camera and "toured" the ship. It seemed as though we had the whole place to ourselves. Most everyone else was either at the show or at the early dinner. It gave us a chance to really look around and enjoy. Make sure you find some "alone" time to enjoy and explore.
Did you see where we are all going to try to meet? Deck 10 during the sail-away party?
See you soon!!

jillte - You definately can't build it up too much! It is truly an awesome experience. The actual cruise far exceeded my expectations! I can't wait to go back and do some of the things we didn't have time for when we were there last February. Yes, secretly I'm trying to decide when to go again:smooth:

feenie, your Mickey paint thingys are in the mail. I picked up lime green ones for you. Just remember not to put them on your chest area - we don't want to give Steve any excuses for checking out anyone's chests. I'll warn my group about the short, chubby, balding guy wearing black dress socks with his shorts - what a visual.

justmestace when you wear yours on your forehead don't forget to lay out in the sun. What neat tan lines you will have - I'm sure your daughter won't mind - it would look "great" in the wedding photos;)

Is everyone getting excited:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:
