Online check in?

Ive booked to go in April and i was just wondering how virgins online check in actually works??

Its easy go to the virgin atlantic web page click on manage your flights and follow their links to the online check in it takes only a few minutes.

We went to disney for the 1st time last year and are due to fly out on the 24th March We used the vrigin DIY check in 24 hrs prior to departure, you have to put in all the passport numbers etc and i checked them about 3 times before submitting. We then arrived at Manchester airport and instead of queing in the huge line we went through fairly quickly. There is a special DIY check in line, someone looks at your passport in the line and then i suppose you go through the same check in procedure at the front. The best thing about it is you can get to the airport a little later. We will be doing it this year. Hope this helps.

We used online check-in last year.

We had already reserved our seats on-line and then checked in the day before before driving down to Manchester (getting the same seats we had reserved). I think you need to enter the passport numbers for all travellers.
We also printed out the confirmation.

We still turned up three hours before the flight but we didn't need to wait in a long line to check-in although the bag drop line didn't move overly quickly.

Certainly worth doing as it doesn't cost anything and we did end up with the seats we reserved - unlike our return journey where we were shifted back a row.

We used on-line check-in in December and it was easy

Like the poster above I re-read the information I'd typed in about 10 times in case I'd made a mistake LOL

You can also use twilight check as well as on-line if you want to arrive at the airport the evening before and stay overnight at the airport hotels.

Hate to frighten anyone but ....

We used it last year and according to Virgin we managed to "offload" ourselves from the flight (there is no option on screen to do this!). Although they sorted it out we lost the seats we'd reserved months before and ended up split up.

I know it has worked fine for almost everyone else I've spoken to and our experience is very definaltely unusual, but that's what happened.
