Online Check-in and room requests

Just wondering if anyone has had success getting their room request when using the online check in system. I'd love to try it since I have traveling with my elderly inlaws and don't want them to have to wait around long to check it.

Yes, I have gotten my room requests 4 out of the 6 times so far. None of my requests were major, but I was happy that we got the type of rooms we wanted.

For example, this summer, we asked to not be on the 1st floor at BCV and we were not. At BLT, we asked to have an even #'d room and that is what we got.

I think your chances of getting your requests are just as great via online as they are waiting to check in when you arrive. The only piece I have heard is that it may be harder to get your room switched once you do online check in if you don't like what you got.

However, the requests we put in are just that and we would never ask to be switched if we found out we didn't get the request. So, that drawback isn't really something that bothers us.

Yes!

Our first stay was just a couple weeks ago. We requested Grandstand with a golf course view at SSR and got exactly what we wanted. Online check-in was awesome!

Just got back from a split stay - and got both our requests. At AKV we wanted to be near the lobby and on the side of Kidani closer to Jambo. Then at BWV we asked for a village green view and got that as well. Loved the online check in. When we got to AKV on ME, a CM greeted us when we got off the bus with our packet - fabulous!

Ok, I have a question. When I went to do online checkin it only gave me 4 options for requests. Pack n play, near transportation, fridge and ground floor. None were area's, room #'s or views. Am I doing something wrong? We arrive on the 23rd and am wanting to check in online and make a request or two. I seem to run about 50/50 with requests. But that's ok with me as I am at Disney and that is enough for me!

The requests that they try to accommodate are those made on the phone with member services. Don't worry that you can't repeat that request during the online checkin process. This worked for us in September. We requested Congress Park with Downtown Disney view at SSR and that's what we got. I noticed on the front of the check-in folio that there was a spot where the cast member had added his/her initials next to the words "check requests" or words to that effect.
