Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

I've finally been able to pull up all my previously-made ADRs. It seems the issue was with the phone number. For some, the ADR was tied to the phone number on my reservation. For others, it was tied to the phone number I called in to make the ADR on...so, my work phone or cell phone number was tied to my ADR and not the phone number on my reservation. By playing around a bit with the phone numbers I use, I was able to pull up everything, including ADRs made at my 90 day mark.

I'm a little confused. I live in Florida. On the day that I am able to book my dining reservations, can I make them starting at 3:00 a.m. or 6:00 a.m?

"The menus on wdwinfo.com have restaurant opening times on them. What I plan to do is look up the opening times for restaurants and making a note next to the Restaurant on my ADR list, so when I start I don't need to cross reference a website."

I just checked this again and for the 7 restaurants I checked, they are not showing the hours anymore. Looks like I'll have to play with the ADR website.
Oh well- I'll be well versed in it come June 26!

You never know until you ask, TA's aren't mind readers and if they don't know what you are thinking or needing they can't help you.

I have gone to Disney over 10 times, I know peanuts compared to others, and my TA has always done my ADR's and I haven't had any issues.

She would have to get up at 3am on a Sunday since we are on the west coast, she's good but not that good. Guess I'm just to much of a control freak to trust anyone else. Guess I'll just have to do it the old fashion way and call...I can still do that right, even though I used a TA????????

My TA has time zone issues as well and happily does my ADRS if asked. As Joan said, TAs are not mind readers...you just have to nicely ask! 3am on a Sunday is early and you are being considerate, but who knows, she could be up already for someone else!

I ask this specifically of the posters on this board who are now showing concern that, because they used a TA, they are now unable to view, modify or cancel their existing reservations for resorts or ADRs. In the fact that you are online and trying to do this very thing means you can do everything a TA can do and more. I'm not knocking any DISer who uses a TA or even TAs themselves -- I'm actually very curious.

As for why to use a TA, I use one because she can answer any question I have within minutes of an email, keeps me up to date on any changes, etc, watches for discounts and applies for me so I don't have to monitor the boards, etc if I am busy, deals with my numerous changes, does my DME for me, reminds of payments/adr dates, and generally keeps me organized! I jokingly call her "my travel wife" because she handles it all! She even emails me when I am not booked to let me know about discounts, etc in case I am thinking about a trip!

Has anyone with a Mac tried to book? I tried last night from home and couldn't....but when I came to work and logged onto my windows based computer, I could....just wondering if my fellow Appl-ites could try and see what happens for them.

Thanks,
Jaime

The general rule is that park restaurants open at 8am for breakfast, 11 or 12 for lunch. Dinner can be 3pm, 4pm, 4:30pm, 5pm or 5:30pm depending on the resturant. I have found that the signature restaurants open at 5:30pm most others open at 4:30 or 5pm for dinner. Crystal Palace and the restaurants that do not close for an hour or two between the last lunch and dinner start their dinners at 3 or 3:30pm

Resort restaurants usually open at 7am for breakfast

I know this isn't much help but at least it is a guide.

Anyone out there know what is the first seating time for CRT lunch? How about dinner?

I use a TA who is a Disney specialist (When not doing DVC points) because I know she is going to get me the best rate even before I probably know any deals are out.
I have never asked her to do my dining reservations because I figure she may have 4, 5, or even 6 clients all arriving on the same day. How would she decide which client to get reservations for first, then second, and so on. One phone call or booking 90 days day by day online if that is what it takes works for me. That way I can make any immediate adjustments to my dining reservations if necessary.....
Just get me the best price and I'll do the rest......

I got on yesterday with my Pro and booked as soon as it opened, but now it does a strange thing with 7 children, a span of dates, won't pull up the calendar, does it as a download, and says error on the URL on my MacBook! STRANGE!:confused3

Okay, so I'm not nuts! It did the same to me last night, I was just playing around. I can't make adr's until next Saturday, but love the speed of my MAC. And it would try to download the calendar. Did you have success just manually entering the date in? dd/mm/yyyy? I figured I'd ask here before I just end up calling.

The rollover happened at 6AM, eastern (so your time) this morning.

WHoo! I just finished booking 10 ADRs (the maximum you can do before checking out) It took awhile but that's because you can check ranges, etc.

I have a few more I want to do so I'll start again.

I like the new system! :goodvibes

I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but can anybody tell me why they used a TA?

I ask this specifically of the posters on this board who are now showing concern that, because they used a TA, they are now unable to view, modify or cancel their existing reservations for resorts or ADRs. In the fact that you are online and trying to do this very thing means you can do everything a TA can do and more. I am a DVC member, but I do use a TA when I'm not staying on my DVC points. I essentially do it for a couple of main reasons:

1) My TA will automatically apply any discount codes that become available for my trip dates. That way if AP discounts are released on a day I'm busy at work or just don't hear about it in time, she is already working on getting the discount applied to my reservation. That just saves me hassle, as well as saving me the hour on hold that sometimes happens when Disney releases AP discounts.

2) My TA also books ADRs for me. In that past that has also saved me time on the phone with Disney Dining. I just email her a list of the ADR times and locations I'd like, and she does the rest. It also saves me from having to be on the phone at 7 AM sharp, LOL.

It's not that I can't do these things myself, it's that I appreciate not having the hassle. And since it doesn't cost me a penny extra to use a travel agent and does save me some hassle, I say why not?

Of course, I am hoping that Disney gets the issues with reservations booked through DVC and through TA's fixed as soon as possible. I just think we should all have the exact same time we can all book. I do agree with a previous poster though that I wish Disney would give onsite guests a little lead time over offsite guests (i.e. letting onsite guests book 100+10 and offsite guests book at 90 days).

forgive me if this has been asked:

Can Fantasmic packages be booked online?

The word, as of right now, is that they can't. Not that this couldn't change in the future, but right now it's "no".

OK. Just to be clear. For those who have booked online reservations at their 90 day mark...did the booking calendar show the 10 days as available or not? Did it ask for your reservation number or phone number or did it automatically access this information from your "my disney vacation" information? Sorry to be nosy but there doesn't seem to be much information out there on how this new system really works.

I would like to know also about the 90 + 10. That would be awesome to do all the booking online at the 90 day mark. :thumbsup2
