Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

Hi there! That was me. I couldn't open the +10 b/c my 90 day mark was just this Saturday. On Saturday at 6am, I chose my 1st restaurant, Le Cellier and before you input the date, there's a little blue blurb saying, retrieve a reservation. Click on that, enter your CRO reservation number and phone number used to book vacation and it will unlock your +10.

Note:

You can NOT search for more than 5 days at a time, even with your +10 unlocked. You can look for 5 days at a time. If you want to try the next day (day 6), you must change your day 1 to start searching at day 2.

So, for me, if searching Chef Mickey's, my arrival is 9/25 I could:

Search all Chef Mickey's from 9/25-9/30.

If I wanted to look at Chef Mickey's on 10/1, I'd have to change my query to be: 9/26-10/1 (get it?)

Good luck, it's not too bad.

Also, if you get some weird stuff, just refresh your screen. I actually booked Le Cellier 1st, Chef Mickey 2nd, O'hana 3 and Coral Reef 4 (DH is diving)....the rest aren't usually "high demand". I also checked out after adding each to my "cart", in case a glitch occurred.....which I would recommend.

Have there been others who could not get into the system prior to their 90 days, and then magically they could get in at 90 days? Most people seem to say they have played around with the system and it would recognize them before 90 days. Also, there are people who say they still do not get recongized at 90 days.

We had one not showing up online - talked to a CM, transferred to another CM... turned out the original CM who made the ADRs game us a wrong ADR # that had one number wrong (I repeated it back to her and she said it was correct, but she gave us a 9 where there should have been a 0...) Problem solved, but we sleep better now. :)

Nope, we can see ours online. Make sure the phone number and your ADR numbers are entered correctly. If not... CALL BACK!!!!! :)

We made our ADR's Sunday morning, and I have to say DH and I were extremely pleased with the way the system worked. We had no glitches at all, and were able to get every single reservation that we had planned, and all within a 20-30 min timeframe. The only issue we had was with Ohana. There were no available slots for a table of 4, however thanks to the tip from a fellow DISer, we changed the seating to 3 people, and like magic every time imaginable opened up. :cool1: We were online right at 6 and no problem with the system recognizing our reservation. (It also recognized us prior to our 90 days when we were just playing around with it)

Good Luck to the rest of you..hope your experience is as magical as ours was:goodvibes:goodvibes

I'm just curious, what are you going to do when you show up with 4 people on a reservation for 3? The reason I am asking is because I had a Cast Member, actually 2 different Cast Members tell me that the restaurants are set up so that only so many people can be in the place at one time. This is due to fire codes.

I had a Grand Gathering for 10 people and had all the dining reservations booked. Most were 2 tables. We then had another person decide to join us bringing us to 11. I called Disney to see about adding another person to our reservations and it was not possible. I asked what would happen if we showed up with an extra person, can we just squeeze them in since most likely we will be at 2 tables that seat 6. The CM told me no because the reservations are set up so that the fire codes are not violated. Now we do know that the CMs have been known to make up stories....but I just wanted to forewarn you as to what I was told. I have no idea what will happen when we show with 11 in our party. Guess we'll just have to hope for the best.

I noticed some people were still posting today that DVC owners are unable to do their ADR's online for the 90 + 10. I'm a DVC owner and I did all of ours online yesterday morning and it worked just fine.

So I made our ADRs on Sunday and got a crappy 705am for Chef Mickeys...I was looking around 900am. So today (I must be NUTS or something) I CANCELLED Chef Mickey and took Cape May instead!!!! Right after I did it, I knew I was nuts!!! I tried to get it back about 30 seconds later, but it was already taken!!!! Our DH is OBSESSED with Minnie, so hopefully she is at Cape May the day we are there..... I will still try daily/many times a day to get back at Chef Mickey....I just can't believe how DUMB I was!!!

Odd, so I got nervous and called today and was told I would not be able to see my adrs online if I made them by phone, nor would I be able to get an email sent with my adrs. She did however confirm most of them, 2 were missing, but when I read her the con# she found them under my husbands name (who has never in his life called Disney)???

Below is a copy of a post I did for my family blog. It includes yet another copy of a post written on my friend Ashley's blog. The post that Ashley did about our experience making ADRs last week is hilarious! Please read all the way through.

Thank you....this was absolutely hysterical!

I can't see any of mine either. Guess I need to find time to call. This is sooooooo frustrating.

Some of the CMs are not fully versed in the new system - you can see all your ressies whether you booked online or not.

I am able to see all of ADRs online - both the ones booked on the phone before online booking was available, and those I booked myself after online booking started. Also was able to cancel a reservation online that had been booked over the phone. Now the system does not always work -- about half the time I put in the restaurant confirm & the phone number & it says unable to retrieve the reservation. But then next time I try (or the next day) it comes up just fine. I assume it's still glitching at times.

I made my ADR by phone on 6/13 and I was able to see them on line 6/27 with no problem.

I made mine by phone and can see them and got them e-mailed.
All printed out and in my packet of papers. :yay:

Now I'm so afraid. How late can you call in at night? Cooking dinner right now so it will be a couple of hours before I can call.

I made reservations yesterday online. I did double book with intentions of cancelling the one I did not want immediately. I have been trying to access my ressies since yesterday and continue to get a message saying that they cannot be accessed. I called tech support and was told that it could take up to 24 hours before they could be accessed. It's been over 24 hours and now I am worried that all of my reservations will get cancelled. I wasn't intending to hog a bunch of reservations and am trying desperately to cancel. I tried calling in but the wait is very long right now and I can't sit on hold. Why can't I retrieve my ADR's?

Maybe they are reviewing all your double bookings. I understand that you had the intention of cancelling them but Disney does not know that and I have read many situations on the boards this week that in a matter of seconds from 6am reservations opening many are already not available. I think people need to plan out their ADR's and not double book (no matter what the intention).

Sorry if it is not the answer you wanted to hear but lets be fair and only reserve what you are going to use. Leave ADR's that you have no intention of using for others.

In reading these threads I have found a number of people frustrated by being unable to book past the first day of their vacation. They say the system only gives them the option of booking one day. It can seem that way.

I thought that was happening to me when I first tried to use it and then discovered on the first "booking" page for a particular restaurant just above the place where you choose which dates and times you want to book there is an unhighlighted paragraph giving you an option of retrieving your vacation reservation to link your ADRs with it. Unless you choose to retrieve your reservation you will only be able to book one day. The computer otherwise has no idea how long your reservation is for and thus no idea how many days to allow you to book

So retrieve your reservation and now you will be able to book all the days of your vacation up to 10 days. Good luck!:lovestruc

Thanks - hopefully that will hepl some people. Unfortunately a lot of other people (myself included) have been getting an error message when they try to enter their resort reservation # (booked directly thru Disney). The only option is to call direct or book one day at a time.

Hope Disney gets the kinks worked out soon...

We booked 13 ressies this a.m. - DH and I had our itinerary with locations dates and times ready (after months of careful thought) and @ 6:00 on the button we got in. I will say we had played a bit beforehand and found of our 2 laptops and one desktop the desktop (and newest computer) worked the best. We didnt use our router we plugged a cable right into it. This also worked best. We got every ressie within a 1/2 hr including LeCelier. I must say that we planned Lecellier for our 9th Day of making ressies, hoping not as many peole could book so far out. We also put what we thought would be easier to get early in the trip and it seems to have worked. We did hit a couple glitches and used the "back" button as a disser had recommened. We also broke them up into 3 or 4 seperate carts to check out. Didnt want to risk loosing them all if someting happened in the process. There was a noticable difference in speed from 6:00 to say 6:20 when it started to slow a bit so it pays to get on early.
our ressies
Chefs de France
Liberty Tree Tavern
The Wave
San ANgel Inn
Boma
Cindy's HEA @ 1900 Park Fare
Sci Fi
Cape May
Biergarten
LeCellier
Crystal Palace
Akershus
Tokyo Dining

we already have Chef Mickey's and Play & Dine @ H & V on the first part of our split stay.

Hope these tips help someone since some many of your tips have helped me!!

I kind of agree....but there are situations it's going to be inevitable...say you book one, say O'Hana dinner, then you check Le Cellier & the only time it's avail is the same as O'Hana...you decide to book Le Cellier & go back later & cancel O'Hana...you're not doing anything wrong, but you're still double booking...

That's one thing that's better about calling...the CM can cancel what you don't want right away or change it...online you have to temporarily double book...

Today is my 90 ADR window. I couldn't use the online ADR system because I booked with a travel agent. I found this out after calling my agent agent and she called a Disney reservation supervisor. Has anyone else had this problem??
