Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

Does anyone know what time restaurants start booking for breakfast and lunch? The menus website used to have the times on it, but I don't see them anymore. If I'm wanting to book the first breakfast time, I'd hate to be wasting time entering 7:00, then 7:15, etc, until I find the first one!

The menus on wdwinfo.com have restaurant opening times on them. What I plan to do is look up the opening times for restaurants and making a note next to the Restaurant on my ADR list, so when I start I don't need to cross reference a website.

(Man it sounds more like I am studying at school - make notes and cross reference - than planning a vacation :rotfl:)

Has anyone seen the option to "Disassociate Reservations" meaning your dining ADRs from your resort reservation, I think? I saw this feature once and then I lost it. I was wondering if anyone else has seen it and had a chance to try it, and what exactly does it mean?

Also, anyone have any luck printing off a consolidated list of their ADRs, or are we relegated to printing them off as entire pages from the e-mails they send us?

If you are staying offsite, how do they identify you? I logged in to the site and picked a fake time/TS and it gave me a couple available, but I didn't want to go any farther in the process or take a reservation from anyone (since I'm not going until October! LOL)

Anyway, does it ask your name, phone, etc. when you pick the adr and put it in the cart?

Yes, you can reserve it with only name, phone, and number in party and ages of the kids. Didn't need address or resort ID (assuming you're within the 90 days). But you did need all of those.

Le Cellier suprised me, I had back ups planned. Garden Grill, though, I could only get 4:30 or 7:30. No other times worked.

I've been trying for GG since my window opened and could only get 7:10 at the latest (our arrival day). That's one of the few I couldn't get anything for at all now. Not sure if this is more popular since they dropped the lunch, they're not using the full restaurant or what. Never thought this would be a challenging one!

I've found if you're searching before the "window" that it would be open, you just get an error message saying nothing is available and try back later. So if a restaurant opens at 5 and you search 4:30, you'll get that message and nothing else. But if you search 4:45, you might be offered 5 and 5:10 if those are truly the earliest. Play with the different messages.

That said, I got (phone) a 4:25 for WCC when it says everywhere I've read that it opens for dinner at 5pm! I see a lot of folks posting ADR's between 4:30 and 5 for 'Ohana when it technically opens at 5, so I think they adjust their hours some. Seems like the Epcot ones that open at 12 truly "open" at 12 and don't book anything before that.

So what time did the 9/15 date become active this morning? Please include what time zone. I am most interested in the central time zone.

Thanks!

Am I the only one who is wondering why all of a sudden hard to book restarants are now available? Yikes, I hope this works out......

I still have lots of pages to read but this is starting to be a concern for me too. I have a vision of mobs of people checking in to the restaurants because they were all given ADRs. By the way, I booked all of mine yesterday morning on the phone. I didn't know this was available til I got home from work at 5:00.

Quick question, which I hope won't get lost in amongst all of the excitement!!!

Am I right in thinking that, if I have booked directly through Disney in the UK (using the telephone number from their UK website) that I won't be able to take advantage of the 90 + 10 ADR booking online as the reservation numbers aren't the same?

Any UK-ers out there who can answer this? I'd really appreciate it as it's my 90 days next tuesday and booking online would be SOOO much easier!

Booked all my ADR's this morning starting at 6am EST online. Got everything I wanted except T Rex, said no availability, but no biggie, we can go somewhere else. I was so pleased with how easy and quick it was, done by 6:25, confirmation email in my mailbox seconds later, all printed out and ready to go !!!! Very simple and I loved how it showed you other options for that timeframe, gives you ideas on different meals.
Castle-dinner
Crystal Palace-dinner
50' PTC- lunch
Epcot princess breakfast
Hoop Dee Doo
Chef Mickey breakfast

Excellent! And you chose really popular dining experiences!!:cool1:

I tried to book TRex on the phone a few weeks aga and they said there wasn't any availability. The CM gave me the direct number to call and they had tons of availability. Google the number and call directly.

Those whose opportunity to reserve dining Started Today - you WERE able to book 90 +10?

advice. Play with your times. I used the system this morning to correct an error I made. It was great because I was able to identify all my opportunities in a short period of time for a meal less than two weeks away. (It was apparently the last ADR available because I searched again and no availability is shown for that meal on that day.)

The system seems to search in discrete time increments. When I put in 10:00 AM, I was shown an availability after 11:00 AM. A 9:30 AM request showed no availability. Play around with the times a bit to see if anything is available.

So,
based on what I read here, I went into the dining system and attempted to pull up my reservation #. It tells me there is an error and it can't find it. Could this be because I have not hit my 90 days yet? When I go into my vaction to pull up my resort reservation with my phone number, it pulls it up there

I too am wondering if you can still book at your 90+10 day. My day is Sunday, so I guess I have a few days to see what others think before I have to make my ADRs.

My other question is how quickly you can book the online ADRs. Is it faster than calling? I guess I could always call at 7am ET and try to work them online while I'm holding. :surfweb:

I keep getting a blank page when I go to "check out"
I had success a little while ago, and now every time I just get a blank page after I confirm that I've read the terms of service.

Because there are some sick puppies out there, who do that sort of stuff for fun. Why do hackers try to bring down Microsoft's site, Yahoo, google, etc? Because they can.

It wouldn't surprise me in the SLIGHTEST if we saw the same sort of thing occur here. Without any "controls" on the system, it's just too easy a target. Simply having a valid email address isn't enough.

Or worse... The same fairly simple process that allows for the wanted/trade threads here to be so successful could, in theory, be exploited by someone dishonest enough to book up high demand ADRs and sell them. When you think about all the GAC cards and FastPasses that have turned up on eBay over the years, it doesn't seem too far fetched to think that could be one possible abuse of the online ADR interface...

I was playing with the Retrieve Reservation part this morning. It seems that when you put in your reservations, they become tied to your web session but not your login. I logged out and could still see my reservations, logged back in and could still see my reservations, but once I closed the browser they were gone.

That's a strange way for it to work, IMO. If you're logged in, it should tie your reservations to your account; if not, just show them until the session ends.

The system also does not pull your celebration information if you had entered it previously.

So at this point there still hasn't been a resolution to the problem of booking online ADRs if you booked your reservation through a travel agent? I booked my October trip through a TA, but I would still like to try to book my desired Le Cellier reservation online starting at 6 AM just to give myself the best shot at getting it.

For now it looks like DVC reservation numbers are also not working, but I'm hoping Disney gets that fixed ASAP. I can't book ADRs for my next DVC trip until September, so I'm hoping they have it all sorted out by then.
