DH and I are going with the family on a DCL cruise next July. We'll have 1 DGD with us for a few nights before the cruise. We've done that with each DGC and this one has picked AKV as her choice resort. The family lives near Tampa, and this year they got up at 5, came to WDW to pick us up, go out to eat, and then we went back to BLT so the kids could change into bathing suits and get to the port for our 11:30 boarding time. I felt sorry for them, it seemed like a hectic way to begin a vacation.

So, I thought that next year, I would book a GV for the single night before the cruise. DGD and we will have a savannah view for before the change. Which GV is "best." Are they all 1 level? Jambo or Kidani? They are both available.

Alternatively, I was thinking of going to VB and getting a BC for the 1 night. That's also available. This will be a surprise for the family, although, I did tell them I was arranging for them to stay so their morning won't be as hectic.

Nobody would be getting to VB before 4, and VB is convenient for the family to drive to. They wouldn't hit traffic along that route, but if they came to WDW after a work day they would be in traffic. Plus, this is a Friday night.

I would go with Kidani. It would seem bigger because they are multi level. Aren't the ones at Jambo one level?

I don't know except the ones in Jambo have a pool table. My first choice was to stay at Kidani. There are 7 of us, so, crowding isn't an issue. Thanks for responding.

yes, Jambo one level & pool table. Kidani split level & roomier. do you like the pool at Kidani better? And will quick service matter?

I prefer Jambo.

But you have a princess coming along so this entire trip will be more magical. princess:

We haven't even seen a Kidani GV but LOVED the Jambo GV. 3 huge balconies, the pool table and lots of room. It is larger then several places I lived.

The VB is out. DH nixed that idea. I think I will do my legs a favor and book Jambo, it's one level. I hadn't known that until mentioned here.

Thanks!

We stayed in a Jambo House GV in August and the room was absolutely stunning! I'm sure you won't be disappointed! :) I was ready to make it my permanent residence. :lovestruc

Wow, Kat4Disney, I'm supposed to keep this as a secret from DS's family. I don't know if I can!!!!! What a way to begin a cruise vacation! We both have varanda rooms on the ship, so it seems like a great transition!
