One night post cruise...

Hi All,

Thinking about hotel side of my trip next year. Party of 3, Dad, Mum and 4 yr old. We get off the Fantasy on a Saturday, but our flight home isn't until the Sunday evening (~6pm).

My original plan was to rent a car, stay in a decent enough hotel then drop car off at the airport the next day. Perhaps have a lazy-ish day at the hotel pool.

I'm now thinking to ditch the car idea, and take Disney transport to a Disney Hotel (I know there is a charge), and then use Magical Express to get to the airport. Is there any problem with this as I'm only staying one night (I read somewhere that they give you the airport shuttle info on the day before).

Previously getting off the ship and getting a shuttle to the car rental place has been a pain in the backside, so thought this might be a good solution?

Any thoughts, personal experiences? Tips?

There's really no reason there should be a problem. You'd give Magical Express your flight info when you make your reservation for that (no charge, but you make a reservation in advance) so the information about pick-up would probably be at the front desk when you check-in.

I also do not see any big issue. By taking the cruise shuttle, and not a car, you are saving the daily parking fee at the resort. Just know that the Magical Express picks up from the hotels really early (is it 4 hours before flight time?), so much of your next day will be spent on the bus or at the airport.
To me, it's worth the few extra dollars to take an Uber closer to my flight time, increasing my time on property.
