"One More Waffle!" An October 2011 TR! *Update 4/24, pg 70-The End!*

Nice update! Such a beautiful view from your room! And a great way to start the day by getting your APs! Nice short wait for Soarin' and yum on the Sunshine Seasons breakfast...we enjoyed one of those too. Looks like a nice, relaxing start to an Epcot day!

Yay! for annual passes!

I had that cheese danish as well on one of our Epcot mornings. Very good!

I think the movie in China plays continuously all day. Just sit on one of those bench in the area close to where the movie is suppose to play (inside the round building), and at some point a CM will come and introduce the movie. Then the doors will open to let you in. I don't think you'll wait longer than 15 minutes, 20 minutes max.

The Wilderness Lodge sure provides some amazing views, doesn't it? That's so beautiful!

YAY FOR THE ANNUAL PASS!!!!! OH that is so exciting. I seriously want me an AP. You should do a solo trip for F&W! Might as well give that AP some extra use!

SOARIN' YAY. Hahah glad yall liked your breakfast at Sunshine Seasons! And I'm sorry your computer messed up the rest of your update! :( But I guess yay for even more future Epcot updates! :thumbsup2

The views at WL are amazing! I loved getting up every morning and looking outside, I loved knowing that MK was just over the trees! :lovestruc

I'm going to be so sad when our AP expires. I keep thinking I should renew it, but....that's not exactly smart! :rotfl: I don't think I'll need to do a solo trip, Brandon actually wants to go back in the Fall for F&W, he loves F&W, so that will be nice! Except he doesn't want to go when we can use our AP, he wants to go the last week of October! Which is why I'm wondering if we should just renew them...you know, just in case...:rolleyes1

I'm starting to feel bad for my TR followers...I feel like 75% of my TR's are "we went to Epcot and we went on Soarin' 7 million times." Maybe my next TR I'll just mention it and move on!

Great update, Jen. You do love your Epcot!

Hooray for the AP. I'm hoping to get one in September when we go.

Thanks! I can't wait to be in Epcot in 9 WEEKS!!! :woohoo: :dance3:

I love my AP! It's so sad that it has to expired, they should be good for life! :rotfl:

Yay for getting an annual pass!!!!:banana::banana: (And an extra week!! :thumbsup2)

I love Epcot days! Your breakfast at SS sounds great, I've actually never eaten there, but I know people rave about it!

Yay! :dance3: I wish my AP covered all of October, but I suppose the first week is good enough, even though if we go back, it will be the end and it won't be valid anymore! :sad1:

That was the first time we have eaten there, and we love it, everything we have tried there is so good! And it's nice that Soarin is right there! :thumbsup2

Just started reading your trip report. Sounds like fun! Can't wait to read more.

:welcome: Thanks for reading!

Score on the extra week! :cool1:

The view from your room is beautiful!

What a gorgeous day to be touring the world showcase! And I really don't notice the smudge on your pictures. In fact, your pictures make me want to be there right now!

You have been an updating fool lately Jen - You go! :worship:

Thanks, isn't the view so pretty? I love the WL! :cloud9:

Ugh, I notice it! When I was taking pictures that morning, I kept looking at them and wondering what was wrong and then I got the bright idea to look at the lens and that was the problem! Those pictures make me want to be there now too, I can't wait to go back!

Haha, well, I knew I wouldn't have time to update til next week, so I needed to do updates before the weekend! :thumbsup2 Even now I'm on a time limit, because my niece wants to use the computer!

Ooooo...that breakfast at Sunshine Seasons looks pretty yummy! Now we have another alternative for breakfast food that I think we'll have to try next week!! :)

It is really good, I love those danishes at Disney! :cool1: I like having breakfast at SS because it means I can get Brandon out of the resort sooner by saying we can eat there in the morning, and then I'm already in a park, not waiting for him to hurry up and eat so we can get to the park! :rotfl:

You're probably in Disney by now, I hope you're having a great time! :goodvibes

We always end up spending one day solely in EPCOT too!!! There is just so much to do there one full day isn't enough, but it helps :D

WOOHOO for APs :) and yay for being able to use them if you want to take a trip in the fall :)

I LOVE the cherry wheat beer! It's one of my favorties :D

I love having a whole day for Epcot, I never do that with other parks. I'd like to have a whole DHS day too, maybe if we go in the Fall I will do that!

I'd like to get one more trip out of the AP's, but unless we go the first week of October, it's not happening! We're thinking more towards the end of October, but we'll see! Nothing is definite yet!

That is the best beer ever! Brandon doesn't like it, he thinks it's too girly because of the cherry flavor! :rotfl2:

That's AWESOME you got an extra week on your AP!! Hopefully you can make it out for at least a little F&W!! Maybe... Brandon will get a hankering for something he tried at the F&W festival and decide it would be a good idea to go!!!!

Haha, well, I asked Brandon when he wanted to again in the Fall, and I said i wanted to go the 2nd week of November, but I looked at the Bounceback offers, and it's blacked out. So I said we can either go in October for F&W or December again for Christmas and he said the end of October, because he likes F&W more than Christmas! So we'll see! We won't be using our AP's if we do that, but it's nice to know there's a possibility of another trip on the horizon! :woohoo:

Great update! The picture with the walking stick.....:rotfl2:

We've yet to catch the American Fife and Drum corp...kind of bummed, but kind of feel like we see the same thing in Williamsburg all the time.:confused3

Looking forward to more, congrats on the APs!

Haha, I love that picture! :rotfl:

That's probably why I like the America section in Epcot, do you know how many times I went to Williamsburg as a kid? I'd love to go back there again, it's been years!

Thanks! Hey, when are you going in the Fall for F&W?

YAY EPCOT! What a great park to spend a whole day at. Personally, Magic Kingdom is my full day park, but EPCOT is just as awesome and generally does need a full day :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 to upgrading to APs! I really hope to do that someday. And it's weird, because I always thought that was how APs worked, when you upgrade them, they last for a whole year from the exact day you upgrade them :confused3 I'm not sure since I've never looked into it much, but that's what I hear from most, but if it wasn't then that's awesome you got the extra week. :)

WOOT SOARIN'! Always a great first ride at EPCOT and I can't believe the standby was only 15 MINUTES! I've never seen that. Like I've been in line when it was at 20, but 15... WOW! Mmmm... Sunshine Seasons sounds very good and I can see what you mean about that danish, it does look a lot prettier than the average danish and from what you say, it tastes as good as it looks. Yum! :thumbsup2 to riding Living With The Land, such an underrated ride :sad2:

Love your pictures of World Showcase even with the smudge! It's beauty ALWAYS shines through :cloud9: Those Fife and Drum guys look wicked entertaining, I can't believe I've missed them whenever I go to EPCOT. I have really bad timing with this stuff :/

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

I don't think we've ever done a whole MK day. :confused3 Brandon gets bored at MK so I try to keep our visits there short or he starts getting annoyed. I don't get it. I'd love to spend a whole day there!

I never see Soarin' at 15 minutes either! When it's 20 minutes I think that's a good wait time! I'm dreading the wait times in May, they're probably going to be crazy with TT closed! Living with the Land is great, it reminds me of my childhood trips!

Thanks, I'm going to have to make sure I check the lens from now on before I start taking pictures! :rotfl: The Fife and Drum guys are pretty cool! Now if only we could catch Voices of Liberty again!

After all the rain in your December TR, it's so nice to see that beautiful blue sky again!

When I saw that pic of you at Soarin' I was positive that I could almost smell the Epcot air! And thanks for inadvertently reminding me that I need to replace my Crocs before our July trip :thumbsup2 (When I saw you wearing them in this pic I was like "I KNEW I liked her!" :rotfl2: )

That pic of Brandon is hilarious! I can't believe he allows you to subject him to Disboards ridicule

And your pics came out great! If you didn't TELL me there was a smudge, I wouldn't have noticed...looks like sun glare to me! lol

Haha, well...be prepared, we only have this day and the next day with nice weather and then...RAIN!

Haha, that's so funny, because when I looked at that picture of me in my stupid Crocs, I thought "Wow, I look like such a dork!" :rotfl: Crocs and socks=dork! I don't care though, I hardly got any blisters, so looking like a dork is a small price to pay!

I'm not sure he lets me, he doesn't read the DIS...if he did, he might not be so ok with it!

Yay for annual passes! It's such a nice thought...knowing you can enter WDW as many times as you want (or is possible). :wizard:

Looks like a great start to your Epcot day. Beginning with Soarin' is the perfect choice. :thumbsup2

I love my AP's! I'm going to miss them when they are expired! :sad1:

Haha, I'd begin every Epcot day with Soarin' if I could! :lovestruc

OH AND I MEANT TO SAY. I love your Vera Bradley! It's so pretty! What pattern is it?

Thanks! It's Safari Sunset (I think?) I LOVE that pattern, I'm thinking of getting an actual purse in it too. I want a new hipster for May, but I can't find any patterns that are as pretty as that one!

Nice update! Such a beautiful view from your room! And a great way to start the day by getting your APs! Nice short wait for Soarin' and yum on the Sunshine Seasons breakfast...we enjoyed one of those too. Looks like a nice, relaxing start to an Epcot day!

Thanks! I was SO happy when I bought those AP's, I almost cried! I love Sunshine Seasons, I'm so glad we finally went there, now it's one of my favorite breakfast spots! :thumbsup2

Isn't that cheese danish SO good? I would really love one right now, I wish there was somewhere around here that I could get one that was that good! :sad2:

I thought that about the movie in China, but whenever we go in there, it's empty, so we assume it's not playing or something! :confused3 I'll have to find out in May, I really want to see it, it's the only one I haven't seen yet! I'd like to do the France movie again too, it's so pretty, even if it is a little old! :rotfl:

The carriage ride looks amazing! Thank you for posting your review! I will definitely have to do that next Oct!

Loved the epcot update as well! The China movie is pretty good! We enjoy it and end up seeing it everytime we go! We like to take awkward pictures with stuff too. I don't like to buy tons of stuff, so we just take pictures with it!

Congrats on the AP! I'll be picking one up on our May vacation since we're going back in December. Now that I've finally caught up on this trip report, let me head on over to your December report. You are one busy girl!:)

Ugh, that really bites the big one! I'm sorry you got so much rain!

After multiple trips to Disney getting horrible blisters and having just general foot pain...I had had enough. People can talk all the junk they want about them but I will never go to Disney again without them. It's funny because my sister HATES Crocs...and I can't wait until July when she has to be seen in public with me while I'm wearing them! It will be even funnier if I convince her to buy a pair!

The carriage ride was so much fun! I'm so glad we did it, it was a nice break from the parks for a night! :thumbsup2

I would like to see the China movie, just because we never have! That's so weird to me! I feel like we always see the Canada movie, and we saw the French one once, but never China!

Haha, I take pictures of stuff I want to buy too! I've been trying to cut way back on my souvenir buying!

Woohoo an Epcot update - I sure love that park!! :thumbsup2

Well, there are many more Epcot updates to come! We practically live at that park!

Congrats on the AP! I'll be picking one up on our May vacation since we're going back in December. Now that I've finally caught up on this trip report, let me head on over to your December report. You are one busy girl!:)

Thanks! You're going to love having an AP! Although, it makes me wish I could go every month! :rotfl2:

I hope you like my December TR if you end up reading it...it's a lot of rain and sickness, so it wasn't my favorite trip to write about! :rotfl:

Epcot Epcot Epcot!

Wednesday 10/5

Hi everyone! So I have just a little over 8 weeks until my next trip, and I have to finish this TR by then! So I might be updating here a little more often, I hope that's ok with everyone!

When we left off, Brandon and I were just finishing up at the American pavilion, and were walking towards one of my newest favorite places in Epcot...Morocco! I can't believe it took me so long to discover and appreciate this pavilion, it's so beautiful!

P1000795.jpg

We looked around for a little while, Brandon went in the shops while I walked around and took more pictures

P1000798.jpg

and then we moved on. I like being there a little better at night, the lights there are really pretty!

We continued going through the World Showcase, and in France, I had to stop to see an old friend...

P1000804.jpg

Marie! I get a picture with her on every trip, I'm surprised she doesn't know me by now! I wish this picture wasn't so awkward, I actually like the pose I did with her better in December, except the actual picture turned out terrible. Oh well.

We didn't have much time to get to our lunch destination, so I had to say goodbye to Marie so we could get to Le Cellier on time! Yay! (This is our second visit of the trip, by the way...will it be our last? :rolleyes1)

We didn't wait long to be seated, and we ordered our drinks right away. Brandon got some kind of berry margarita

IMG_0890.jpg

and I was boring and got a Red Maple

IMG_0891.jpg

I can't help it, I know I should get an actual drink while I'm there, but the Red Maple is just SO good! Maybe I can ask for a shot of something to pour in the next time I'm there?

I don't remember what Brandon got, but I got the NY Strip

IMG_0892.jpg

which was awesome!!! The filet there is amazing, and that's what I always get, but I figured I should get something different for once! It did not disappoint, it was so freakin good! I wish I could eat at Le Cellier every single day of my life. That's how good it is!

For dessert, I got the maple creme brulee

IMG_0893.jpg

which was amazing too! I usually get the Chocolate "Moose" there, but again, I wanted to try something different, and I'm so glad I did, because the creme brulee was fantastic! I love creme brulee, thanks to Disney restaurants!

We were stuffed and tired, so we thought it would be a good time to go back to WL for a little while and rest, so we made our way back to Future World.

P1000808.jpg

On the way out, we had to stop and do a favorite, since there was basically no wait

P1000809.jpg

Spaceship Earth!

I'm pretty sure this was the time that everyone was taking flash pictures on the ride. It might have been a different time on this trip, but there was one time we were on there and literally every single person on the ride was taking flash pictures of every single scene and I wanted to SCREAM! I don't mind once or twice, I've done it by accident, but it really ruined the ride for me. :sad2:

The picture that everyone takes:

P1000816.jpg

After our somewhat disappointing ride on SE, we went back to the WL for a little while and took a nap. We got up around 4, got ready, and went back to Epcot for the night. There were extra magic hours that night, and I intended to stay til the end.

On the drive over to Epcot, I asked Brandon if he wanted to go to MNSSHP the next night, because if he did, I had to buy tickets. He said no, however, I wanted to go again because I wasn't really happy with our first experience there. He said it was a waste of money, but I was determined to show him that it would be fun without all the crowds (our first one was sold out, if you guys forgot!) so finally, he gave in, and I bought tickets for the next night on our way into Epcot!

We didn't have any plans for dinner on this night, we just wanted to sample more of the Food and Wine festival, so we went straight over to the World Showcase!

Our first stop was Mexico, and of course, we had to get margaritas!

P1000822.jpg

I don't remember what kind we got (I take terrible notes, I guess!) but they were delicious, as always!

We then went over to the China booth and got the shrimp and noodles (which is when Brandon started getting sick of me taking pictures of all of our food!)

P1000825.jpg

which I LOVED! This is one of my favorite things at Food and Wine, it's so simple, just shrimp and noodles, but it's really, really good, and filling!

Up next, we hit the Poland booth and got the Kielbasa and Pierogies, which were awesome as well!

P1000827.jpg

Earlier that day, we walked by the Singapore booth, which had some kind of Coconut beef and rice that sounded good, so we decided to try that. Brandon waited in the line and I grabbed us a seat on a wall in Japan, and when he came over to me he said "don't even try it, it's awful".

What do you do when someone tells you that? Of course you try it. And I wish I didn't. It was AWFUL. I didn't even take a picture of it, it was probably the worst thing I've ever tasted in my life. I can't even describe the taste. You know the way fire smells? It tasted kind of like that. And the taste stayed in your mouth FOREVER! Gross.

There was only one thing to do after that...RUN to the Belgium booth for a waffle, Godiva iced coffee, and beer to wash away that awful taste!

P1000828.jpg

I loved hearing the CM's at Belgium get so excited when people ordered waffles, I wonder if they yelled "one more waffle" all day?

We went over to the Ireland booth next, where Brandon got the Fisherman's Pie (which I didn't take a picture of, sorry!) and he basically inhaled it. He loved it, I tried a little of it and it just tasted kind of like mashed potatoes.

When he was finished, we went over to the phone booths in England, and Brandon kept calling them, but no one ever answered!

P1000835.jpg

After playing around in the phone booths for a few minutes, it was time to find a spot for Illuminations!

Up Next...Illuminations and magic hours!

Jen - you got some really nice pictures of different angles. Nice.

That berry margarita looks really good. Oh, if I could have one right now I would be very happy.

Just wait till I tell you about my telephone booth experience. It was not pleasant. :sad2:

Some much yummy food! I can't wait until F&W. I'm drooling. :rotfl:

Another wonderful update!

I also hate it when people take flash photos on rides! I sometimes accidentally take the first one with flash and then quickly turn it off after I realize my error!

Ok I'm all caught up on this TR since I dropped off the face of the earth. After I make these comments I'm going to read your December TR that I completely missed! :thumbsup2

Thank goodness the Disney deer lived to see another day!

AHHH your dinner at Cape May is making me so excited to stay at Beach Club! Those Oreo bonbons sound fantastic! :cloud9:

I totally agree with you about DHS at night...it's magical!

I'm so jealous you were the rebel spy on Star Tours! Every time we ride I cross my fingers it will be John. That would make his freaking life. :rotfl:

Yay for not waiting for Fantasmic! That's awesome! We skip that show so much because of the lines.

I love Boma's breakfast SO much. I'm going to miss staying there and being able to get to that amazing juice in just a few minutes!

I'm so glad you enjoyed FotLK! That show is amazing! :lovestruc

HAHAHA your awkward character pictures are killing me! :lmao:

You know they're getting rid of the whole poacher story from Kilimanjaro Safari, right? I was so excited when I heard that. It's so unnecessary!

I have to agree with Brandon about Germany...it's my favorite country! That Oktoberfest on a hot summer day...my oh my.

Your Food and Wine pics are making me drool!

I'm so glad you loved Artist Point! That's one of our favorite spots!

I think the road to Fort Wilderness is creepy too! When my sister and I went on the haunted hayride we thought we got lost and freaked out.

I'm so jealous of your AP! I wanted to get one in December, but John said I shouldn't, and now we're going back in July! GRRR!

Okay, I'm all caught up! Yippeeee! :woohoo:

Only 8 more weeks!!!! AAAHH :D I bet you are really excited :D

I LOVE Le Cellier! We always eat at least one meal there every trip! :D

I really need to plan to go back sometime again during F&W! Your food and drink pictures look so yummy!!!

Keep the updates coming!!! :D

Your meal at Le Cellier looks great! Love their creme brulee, isn't it awesome?

Ughhh flash photography on rides...:headache:

You and Marie are so cute...you look like true BFFs!

I'm so glad to hear your meal at LC was good. I hear so many negative things about it lately. Although we loved it last time we were there, I was afraid it had gone way downhill.

I'm sorry your ride in Spaceship Earth was ruined by inconsiderate people who take flash pictures over and over again.

Mmmm, belgium waffle!!!

:rotfl:

Thanks, I actually really like the Morocco pics!

I would love a Disney margarita right now too, I've had such a bad day and all I have here is crappy beer, which I'm not in the mood for!

Oh no, what happened in the phone booth? :scared1:

What are your dates for F&W, I keep forgetting?

Another wonderful update!

I also hate it when people take flash photos on rides! I sometimes accidentally take the first one with flash and then quickly turn it off after I realize my error!

Thanks!

I can't stand the flashes on rides. I mean, I understand if you forget the flash is on, we've all done that, but to just do it through the whole ride is obnoxious! :sad2:

Ok I'm all caught up on this TR since I dropped off the face of the earth. After I make these comments I'm going to read your December TR that I completely missed! :thumbsup2

Yay, you're here!!! :woohoo: :yay:

Thank goodness the Disney deer lived to see another day!

Haha, aww, I know, right? Imagine we hit a deer on a bus I was on? My vacation would be ruined!

AHHH your dinner at Cape May is making me so excited to stay at Beach Club! Those Oreo bonbons sound fantastic! :cloud9:

You are going to LOVE the Beach Club! And Cape May! And the Oreo bonbons!!!

I totally agree with you about DHS at night...it's magical!

I'm so jealous you were the rebel spy on Star Tours! Every time we ride I cross my fingers it will be John. That would make his freaking life. :rotfl:

DHS at night is the BEST! :lovestruc Ugh, I was not happy about being the rebel spy! Next time I sit down I'm going to have to remember to keep smiling, just in case!

Yay for not waiting for Fantasmic! That's awesome! We skip that show so much because of the lines.

I'm glad we finally got to see Fantasmic again, we alway skip it too, so it was nice to just walk right on in!

I love Boma's breakfast SO much. I'm going to miss staying there and being able to get to that amazing juice in just a few minutes!

Boma is soooo good! And that juice! I really wish they would start selling that somewhere so you could bring it home, it's so unfair!

I'm so glad you enjoyed FotLK! That show is amazing! :lovestruc

HAHAHA your awkward character pictures are killing me! :lmao:

FOTLK was amazing! I can't believe it took us so long to see it! Ugh, those pictures with the bunnies were so strange! I really have to start being more outgoing with the characters!

You know they're getting rid of the whole poacher story from Kilimanjaro Safari, right? I was so excited when I heard that. It's so unnecessary!

I think I read that somewhere, that's great, it's really unnecessary, and annoying! The animals are enough!

I have to agree with Brandon about Germany...it's my favorite country! That Oktoberfest on a hot summer day...my oh my.

I love Germany for the caramel shop, and Brandon likes it for the beer!

Your Food and Wine pics are making me drool!

I'm so glad you loved Artist Point! That's one of our favorite spots!

I loved Artist Point! I'm so glad we went there! It was nice that it was right in our resort, and we just walked downstairs to dinner! And everything was just SO good! I can't believe people have negative reviews of this place!!

I think the road to Fort Wilderness is creepy too! When my sister and I went on the haunted hayride we thought we got lost and freaked out.

Isn't that road scary?? So dark and un-Disneylike! :sad2: They should have some pictures of Mickey Mouse along the side of the road, just so you still remember you're on Disney property!

I'm so jealous of your AP! I wanted to get one in December, but John said I shouldn't, and now we're going back in July! GRRR!

I love my AP! :goodvibes I'm so glad I got one! It's going to be weird in October or November paying for tickets again!

I am really excited! I'm more excited about this trip than I have been about a trip in a while! I mean, I was excited about my October trip, but when I got bronchitis in September right before we went, that kind of put a little damper on my excitement! And my December trip was annoying. I have high hopes for this trip! :thumbsup2

Le Cellier is amazing!! I love that place!!

F&W is my favorite time to go, I just wish it lasted longer into November so I could combine it with Christmas stuff!

Your meal at Le Cellier looks great! Love their creme brulee, isn't it awesome?

Ughhh flash photography on rides...:headache:

The creme brulee is awesome! I was always nervous to order it, because it's maple flavored, and I'm weird with maple...I like it, but it has to be subtle, and this definitely was! :thumbsup2

You and Marie are so cute...you look like true BFFs!

I'm so glad to hear your meal at LC was good. I hear so many negative things about it lately. Although we loved it last time we were there, I was afraid it had gone way downhill.

Haha, aww, thanks! I think I look awkward standing next to her, next time I'm going to just grab her arm or something!

I can't believe people complain about Le Cellier! It's SO good! I mean, I'm sure it can have an off night, but we've eaten there so many times now, and we love it just as much each time!

I'm sorry your ride in Spaceship Earth was ruined by inconsiderate people who take flash pictures over and over again.

Mmmm, belgium waffle!!!

That's ok, it was more annoying than anything!

That waffle was SO good!
