"One More Waffle!" An October 2011 TR! *Update 4/24, pg 70-The End!*

Your Le Cellier looks so delicious! I can see why it's a favorite of yours. You can't go wrong with an amazing steak!:thumbsup2

Ugh, it's so frustrating when people are constantly taking flash photos on dark rides. Takes away from the moment. :sad2:

I have been the worst DISer ever!! the last couple weeks have been crazy with wedding stuff! but I am back :goodvibes

The haunted carriage ride looked amazing...that is something I would really like to try one day too :goodvibes I am wishing we had more time there this year for our honeymoon that would be one thing I would add!!

Oh my gosh we got the same thing in Singapore and it was so GROSS!! I am glad it wasnt just us!!

Yay for another night at MNSSHP :thumbsup2

Oh my goodness, your Le Cellier pics look amazing AHHH! I can't wait to go there! I will ask you this... I am trying to choose between what you got, the strip steak, and the mushroom filet. The problem is I really want mashed potatoes... and I know the filet comes with like risotto? Or something? Anyways... which one do you like better??

It is delicious! Talking about Le Cellier so much lately has made me want to add a 2nd ADR on our May trip...and I don't think I can squeeze it in anywhere!

Yeah, the flash pictures were really annoying. I wish they would enforce that more at Disney, but what else can they do but tell you not to? :confused3

Haha, that's ok, you have a wedding to plan!!

The haunted carriage ride is awesome! They have rides until 10:30, so if you guys are in a park that closes early one night, like DHS, you can always go over to FW after and do it!

Singapore was SO disgusting! Ughhhh!!!

You are going to LOVE Le Cellier SOOO much! I can't wait for you to go there! Definitely get the filet, don't worry, you can substitute the risotto with the mashed potatoes, I do it every time I go there! The NY strip is amazing, but the filet is like, their signature dish, there are no words to describe how good it is! :cool1:

Wow, this is like THE perfect Epcot day! (except for the nasty coconut beef and the people taking flash pics on SSE!) I can't wait to go back for F & W next year! We have Le Cellier on our ADR list for one of our days, thanks to you! I don't even like steak that much but you raving about it makes me want to go! We tried to get in back in May 2005 (before we knew about ADRs!) as a walk-up and it was a no go. I was wondering why the hostess was looking at me like I was crazy for even asking...now I know! :rotfl2:

And BTW, I totally convinced Lumar to go back to West Farms today! :woohoo:

Love the pictures of the Morocco pavilion! I feel like I really need to stop and smell the roses per say over there. The pavilion looks really nice. I wonder how authentic the architecture is. :)

:thumbsup2 to meeting Marie and then going off to Le Cellier again (you guys REALLY like this place, don't ya? lol) The NY Strip looks very good, especially with a perfectly plated potato on the side YUM! And the Maple Creme Brulee... oh, I'm definitely getting a reservation here my next trip!

YAY Spaceship Earth! Such an underrated attraction. I'm sorry you got stalk with the paparazzi on the ride. I absolutely hate it when people take a gazillion flash pictures when on the ride it says NO flash pictures. I mean, I've taken flash pictures on them before, but I'm usually fairly reasonable. Just... ridiculous.

Glad to hear you got Brandon reeled into going to another MNSSHP! I hope this one was better for you guys than the last one ::yes:: And a big :thumbsup2 for checking out all the Food & Wine booths! It sounds like they all are really good. Love Kielbasa and Belgian waffles! Too bad you ended up taking the chance with the coconut beef and rice, at least the Belgium pavilion was close by (One More Waffle is right).

Big thumbs up for playing in the Phone Booths, I love how they are actual working booths. Someday I'm going to call someone from the booth :)

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Thanks girl! I will definitely take your advice. Thanks for telling me I could substitute the sides, I didn't even think of that! YAY!!! Hahah

Mmmmm...that last update made me really hungry. Especially that steak and potatoes from Le Cellier. So yummy!

We were on Spaceship Earth once with constant flash picture takers too. The worst was when the cars turned around at the end. Since they were behind us, it was pretty much flashes going off in our faces. Annoying.

If memory serves me right, I think we skipped the braised beef thing in Singapore last time. We had it the year before, though, and it wasn't BAD...just not something to seek out, either. Sounds like it went downhill this past year. The Belgium booth was definitely the right solution, though! :thumbsup2

Sounds like a great day at Epcot and you got to go to your favorite place again....lucky you. :woohoo::woohoo:

Morocco is so pretty! I kind of recently discovered its beauty too. On our WS day, I had a horrible headache and I sat there and drank an iced coffee for about 30 minutes and just took it all in. Its very peaceful and relaxing in there!

Your steak at LC looked so good! We like LC, but I had the filet last time and while it was good, I didn't love it. I would like to go back though. I might have to try that dish if I do! :thumbsup2

It was a great day, I love when we devote a whole day to Epcot! I can't wait for F&W too! I was thinking about going in the Fall this year, and I was getting sad about missing the Christmas season again, but...I almost think I like F&W better! :thumbsup2

Wow, Le Cellier was hard to get into even in 2005? That's crazy! I love that place! We've been pretty lucky with getting ADR's there, but we hardly ever go during busy times!

Love the pictures of the Morocco pavilion! I feel like I really need to stop and smell the roses per say over there. The pavilion looks really nice. I wonder how authentic the architecture is. :)

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

You have to spend some time in Morocco, it's beautiful! :lovestruc

Haha, yeah we're a little obsessed with Le Cellier! I remember on our Disneymoon I was getting a little sick of it (we went twice in 5 days) but I've gotten over it! I'd eat there every night if I could!

I don't mind a few flash pictures, I've done it, I know everyone does, but it was seriously like a strobe light was on in there! It was insane! I wanted to yell something, but I didn't want to be THAT person, you know? :rotfl:

The Food and Wine festival is amazing, I've liked 90% of the food I've tried from each booth...I've just learned to stay away from Singapore next time! If you ever have the chance to go, GO! :woohoo:

Thanks girl! I will definitely take your advice. Thanks for telling me I could substitute the sides, I didn't even think of that! YAY!!! Hahah

No problem, I would have never known you could do that if it wasn't for the DIS! :woohoo:

I have to stop talking about Le Cellier so much, I want to go like, right now! :rotfl2:

I always take pictures on the end of SE, except...I turn my flash off! Ugh, it's not difficult!

OMG, whatever we got in Singapore was SO awful! We thought it would be awesome, since we both love coconut flavored things, but it was disgusting! Belgium, though...LOVE that booth! :cool1:

Sounds like a great day at Epcot and you got to go to your favorite place again....lucky you. :woohoo::woohoo:

It was an awesome day at Epcot! I can't believe we go to Le Cellier so much! We're so not adventurous when it comes to eating!

Isn't Morocco so pretty? And it is really quiet and peaceful back there, I don't know why more people don't go in there. I guess there's nothing to do really, but it's just so nice to walk around and look at all the details!

We love LC, I don't think we have ever had a bad experience there yet! Maybe we're just really unsophisticated and have never had really good steak, that's why we love it so much! I would like to try Shula's someday, I have heard it's much better than LC!

We'll be at F&W in October, and I kinda think I have to try Singapore now. I'm always up for trying new things. On our Vieques vacation I made a peanut butter and jelly cheese burger, which I thought turned out pretty well. I think it's fun...she thinks it's gross and gets mad at me...I'm totally blaming you if she hits me :rotfl:

Disney actually worked with the Kingdom of Morocco and had builders from there come over here to build it. It doesn't have the laser lights attached (like the other pavilions do) for Illuminations, and all the tiling was done by hand, with deliberate flaws to reflect the Muslim belief that only Allah (God) is perfect. You should check out The Complete Walt Disney World guidebooks! They are literally chock full of "behind-the-scenes" info! It's my favorite WDW book and it comes out with a new edition every year. I'm amazed at all of the authenticity in Animal Kingdom! The book is SO worth it! (oh, and the author is a DISer!)

Hi everyone! (If anyone happened to click on here just to read this one response! :rotfl:) I'll be updating later tonight, I know I said I was going to update here more to finish this up before my May trip, but I haven't had time! I have a stupid workshop later for work but hopefully when I get home I can update, and then maybe again this weekend!

 Have fun with the Singapore booth, it's awful! Unless maybe they improve it this year, but it was probably one of the most disgusting things I've ever tasted! I'm not adventurous with eating, but Brandon is, and even he hated it! Luckily, everything else at F&W is awesome! (Well, what I've tried anyway!)

Illuuuuuuminations!

Wednesday 10/5

After hanging out in the phone booths for a while, we had to find a spot for Illuminations. Have I mentioned how obsessed with Illuminations I am? If I don't see it multiple times on a trip, I have failed. That's probably one of the reasons I ended up not really loving our December trip, the total lack of Illuminations. I mean, once? Really?

Anyway, in my notes I have "Illuminations in middle of WS". I have no idea what that means! :rotfl: I really don't remember where we watched it from this night, I want to say between Canada and Mexico, which is a huge space! I think we were more towards Mexico...but I could be wrong? Ahh, who cares?

Illuminations, Reflections of Earth:

P1000871.jpg

I will never understand people that don't like this show and want to see it replaced, it is perfection! Fireworks, water, lasers, some of the most beautiful music ever composed...you got me, Disney.

Once Illuminations was over, we had 3 HOURS of extra magic ahead of us! Don't you love that they call the late park nights "extra magic hours"? You only get the extra magic if you stay in a Disney resort though...other non-Disney guests, sorry...you only get the regular magic. ;)

We went left (I guess?) and started yet another circle around the World Showcase. It's a shame they don't keep the F&W booths open for magic hours, isn't it? You never know when you're going to want a Parisian Cosmo slush, or Godiva iced coffee...

We passed Mexico, where I took this beautiful picture:

P1000872.jpg

Isn't it SO pretty? Ahhhhh, Mexico! :lovestruc

We didn't stop there though, we were headed somewhere more important...

P1000873.jpg

Maelstrom! In the front row! :woohoo: There was no wait, which is always nice, because honestly, anytime you have to wait for Maelstrom is annoying, and I kind of wish that when it's extra magic hours and there's no wait, why not let you just stay on the boat a few times? I mean, going on a few loops around Maelstrom late at night would be pretty insane. I guess they can't really do that though...that would be a dream come true for me.

After our ONE ride on Maelstrom, we checked out the shop for a little while. I found this adorable hoodie that I wanted

P1000874.jpg

but changed my mind after I checked the price tag-$98!!! $98 for something that doesn't even mention Walt Disney World or Epcot or anything? Just Norway? Sorry. :sad2:

We moved on from the clothes and went into the more interesting area, where I found an antler headband. Now I'm not one for hat pictures or any of that, but I couldn't resist popping these on for a quick picture:

P1000876.jpg

If only I had somewhere to wear antlers in my every day life!

Moving on, we found ourselves in the Laila section...where I contemplated buying a small bottle. It smells SO good...I thought maybe if I bought it and wore it all the time, I'd be reminded of Disney all the time and that might make me happy when I'm missing it...unfortunately, a small bottle is $55.

P1000878.jpg

Oh well. Wasn't meant to be. Perhaps someone will buy me a bottle on our upcoming anniversary trip. :rolleyes1

We continued our loop around the World Showcase, and in the African Outpost area, I noticed these adorable lights.

P1000886.jpg

It's amazing to me that I've probably circled the WS a hundred times and never noticed those lights! Even Brandon liked them and actually encouraged me to take a picture of them! See, this is what I don't get about him! He complains about Disney, says it's getting old, wants to go somewhere else, but when we are there, he loves it as much as I do, gets ALMOST excited about the little things as I do...just stop fighting it pal, you're hooked. :cool1: (Oh, and the other night as I was falling asleep, one of those "good life" Disney commercials came on, and he woke me up to see it...yeah, but you don't like Disney. :rotfl2:)

We stopped in Germany, since we cannot ever walk by Germany and not stop there, no matter what time of day, and I looked around the Christmas shop. If you read my December TR, you might remember I bought a Mickey glass ornament and said I wanted one in October, but didn't get it...well, this is the one I wanted:

P1000887.jpg

Soooo happy I bought one in December, I love it!

We strolled through the next few countries and arrived in America. We were getting really tired at that point and figured we should watch the American Adventure, because maybe after we sat for a while, we would wake up a little.

P1000893.jpg

That was a bad idea! You get so comfy in those chairs and it's so dark, and you get to hear this fantastic story about America and it becomes VERY hard to keep your eyes open! I think most of the people in there were napping. Not me. I didn't actually fall asleep. But it was a battle!

I think at that point, Brandon was ready to go, but I wasn't about to give up on magic hours just yet. I suggested we go to Future World and do something exciting, and he reluctantly agreed so we headed to...Mission Space!!

P1000898.jpg

I absolutely LOVE this ride. I LOVE the orange side. I love the feeling you get when you are taking off and just when you think you can't handle it anymore, it turns into weightlessness...it's just perfect! It's why I love Tower of Terror so much, it's why I loved going on the swings when I was a kid and swinging as high as I could go, that feeling you'd get in your stomach...Mission Space IS that feeling.

However, Brandon hates that feeling. So he refused to go on the orange side. I thought about going on it alone, but I figured the green side would be ok.

It wasn't. It's SO boring! It's not even worth it to me. When we were leaving, Brandon was saying how much he hates that ride and is never going on it again, not even the green side. So I guess this will be my next solo venture, because I can't just NOT go on it anymore! Ugh.

We went over to MouseGear and looked around there for a little while, where I managed to not buy anything, and then we left. It was after 12 when we started going back to the car, we actually made it to the end of magic hours! I was starting to feel like we were getting so lame with magic hours, but we made it!!

However, we were exhausted! We could not wait to get back to the Wilderness Lodge and NOT have to wake up early for anything the next day! It was such a fun day at Epcot, spending almost the entire day in my favorite park is awesome! I was really looking forward to the next day though, our 2nd Halloween Party!

Up next...DTD and MNSSHP!

Great update! I love EMH too. It's going to be weird not having them when we go in June, since we are staying offsite this time around. Of course, with DD this time around, I don't think we'd be cruising around MK at 1am anyways, but still!

Great Epcot update! I love your Illuminations pictures! Beautiful! :lovestruc

I've only ever ridden Maelstrom once! I really enjoyed it, but since then every time we've gone by there the line is too long!

I played with those same antlers on our vacation!

Awww Brandon waking you up to see the Disney commercial is precious! He's not fooling anyone! ;)

I love The American Adventure! It's such a great show, but it's also my favorite place to sneak a nap! You're right- it's so cozy with that amazing show going on!

I wish I could enjoy the orange side of Mission:Space like you do! I want to like it, but it freaks me out and makes me feel like I can't breathe! I still really like the green side, though. Maybe it's just because I get to see Gary Sinise!

I always get so excited about the EMH and we rarely make it halfway through. Props to you for making it!!! :)

There's just something about the WS that I love at night. However, I love FW during the day. Today the Epcot entrance music came on when I was in the shower and I just got that warm, fuzzy feeling inside. I can't wait to go to Epcot in just a couple of weeks! :)

what a great update!

I TOTALLY agree with you about Illuminations! If I could watch it every night of my Disney trips, I would. And then there's the awesome pre-Illuminations music.....:cloud9:

I love Maelstrom and I think I would right it a couple times in a row if I could...maybe.... We rode KRR like 5 times in a row once...and the TTA...but I don't know about Maelstrom....

And OMG the Norway gift shop is SO expensive!!! I fell head over heels for this gorgeous pink sweater there a couple years ago, and it was $160!! :scared1: And one year, I forgot to bring lotion with me (and I'm addicted) so when we stopped in Norway, I thought I'd get a bottle there because it smells so wonderful.... but it was $40! That was in 2008 so obviously inflation is playing a role here since it's not $55! It's a shame, too because I love it!

Yay that you made it through EMH!! I've never done the green side of MS just the orange and I love it! Kudos for not falling asleep during American Adventure! :thumbsup2

Hey!! I've read your whole TR and I love it. Ahh, I love going during F&W so much! My favorite time of year to go to Disney! All of your pics are making me ACHE!! We are trying to go for it this year and if it doesn't work out again I may die!

OMG I was so sad for you when I read about your first day migraine. I got sick while at Disney once and it was so devastating! Luckily, like you, I felt better the next day. I was so happy to read you felt fine after some rest. Sometimes, that's all it takes!

That's so funny that you saw Aurora just roaming around the GF!

Oh man, I'm sorry your MSSHP was so crowded. I have been dying to go to that party for years, I really hope we get a non sold out night. I'll have to do some research on what nights are usually the least crowded.

For someone who says she can't draw, I think your pic of Jiminy is great! I can not draw AT ALL, i'm so terrible at it, so I'm really anxious to see how my picture will turn out when I go there.

I agree 100% ToT is the best ride of all time! I will never get even slightly tired of it. I also agree that it is so unnecessary to wait in the Fantasmic line unless it is one of the crazy nights where they fill to capacity, in which case I'd say it's not even worth the frustration.

OMG it is too funny that the lady at Kona asked if the pic would end up on the DIS. I love running into random Dissers at the parks! And I also want to stay at the Poly so bad... I would not mind getting lost there either.

Can't wait for more.. i'll probably be reading your Christmas one too. I really want to go again during the holidays. I need to see the Osborne lights and Holiday Illuminations again! And we never did MVMCP! I really need two trips at the end of this year, it's just a fact.
