"One More Waffle!" An October 2011 TR! *Update 4/24, pg 70-The End!*

That sounds like a pretty good day to me. I love Eeyore too! Its really the one reason I first booked Crystal Palace. I went to Target last night and picked up more gel window clings I don't need.:lmao: They also have feet and hand warmers for $1 just in case.

I'm still here and I'm not going anywhere! Great update. :thumbsup2 You guys were so smart to avoid MK that morning and just slip in to enjoy the 40th Anniversary fireworks.

BTM is my all-time favorite Disney ride, and you're right, there's nothing like riding it at night! Love it!

Agh! I missed the start of your TR, Jen, but I'm completely caught up now!!

Three random things:

1. How did you get that awesome manicure???
2. I am soooo jealous you're heading down this month, I sooooo want to see Disney during the holidays!
3. I am now subscribed so I don't miss anything else! :rotfl:

Yay, another update! :cool1: I enjoy reading about your trip and don't think the report is dragging at all.

Lol at the CM and the conversation about baseball...am glad you played along and kept her entertained :rotfl:

I'm glad you enjoyed The Magic, the memories and you show - it sure is amazing :lovestruc

Great firework shots and that was nice of the CM to thank you loads for handing the bag into them - I hope the owner got it back :thumbsup2

Great update! :thumbsup2 I'm SO stinking jealous that you were at MK on its 40th anniversary! That is so memorable! Girl, save those maps forever! You can give them to your grandchildren someday... :goodvibes

I've never had Cosmic Ray's but it looks yummy! I am seeing a lot of amazing food pics on the DIS tonight... :lovestruc

I want to see the Magic Memories and You! show so badly. :sad1: Will they still be doing it later this month? I must go research this...

Huh... I am a little surprised the fireworks weren't bigger. Although, I don't know what I really expected. Like you said, how can you improve on perfection?

That was so nice of you guys to turn that bag in. The CM was probably so grateful because I think we would all be surprised how rare that is. It just seems like second nature to nice people (like you) to think about how losing that bag might have ruined Peter's (or whatever his name was) vacation, but I think a lot of people wouldn't even care. :sad2:

I expected something more from the 40th anniversary fireworks, too. Of course, we were on the Adventureland side of things, so our experience was a bit different than yours.

I'm glad you got to go on BTMRR at night. I love seeing the Castle all lit up from BTMRR. Splash Mountain at night is kind of fun, too, assuming it's not too cold.

I think MVMCP is a great decision. Holiday Wishes and the snow on Main Street and the parade and the cookies and cocoa are so very Christmasy. I really wanted to go this year, but the only day we could make it has sold out.

So glad you got to experience BTMR at night; it's my absolute favorite thing to do at WDW. (I have been trying like crazy to ride it while Wishes is occuring, because I'm sure it'd be a fantastic view.)

The Magic, Memories, and You show is fantastic. I was a little skeptical about it at first, but after seeing it in person, I loved it. WDW managed to make a perfect fireworks show better by adding an amazing pre-show to the event. :thumbsup2

Splash Mtn does look creepy at night! That's the only time I've gone on the ride, and I feel like it's a little eerie going down the drop when it is completely dark.

I thought it was very nice of you and Brandon to return the guest's missing bag. I'm sure that person was extremely relieved when he went to look for it and realized someone had turned it in for him. Always great to see others spreading the pixie dust.:wizard:

Jen, I'm still here. I've noticed people dropping off on a lot of threads; I think everyone is just busy with the holidays, etc.

I'm glad you got to be there for the 40th anniversary...we missed it by two days. :sad2: You got some great shots of the fireworks.

Isn't Big Thunder awesome at night? I'm still upset it will be closed in January.

I'm SOOOOO sorry I've fallen behind. I've been really busy and have had nearly no time to be able to get on here, so now I'm catching up. I'll go chapter by chapter, hopefully that will get me catched up quickly.

YAY! Off to Wilderness Lodge, my dream resort :cloud9: I've really wanted to stay there ever since I started checking out more Disney resorts. It looks so nice and I can't believe the security guard said "Welcome Home", I've never heard of them ever doing that though I've only been on the ME buses so far, but still that's awesome they do :teeth:

I'm sorry to hear Brandon didn't really like CSR. It looks really nice, especially for a moderate, I think it measures up well to most Deluxe resorts based on room size and the style of the place, but it does seem fairly big, which may be something people wouldn't like. I'll have to take that into account if I ever decide to stay there :thumbsup2

Oh, the Grand Floridian really does seem like the only Deluxe resort sometimes. I mean, especially with the lobby, there are so little hotels that have grand foyers. Then, for them to have princesses wandering the halls on their own, that just makes it so much better than it already was. Though... I still will probably end up staying in the Poly over the GF :rolleyes1

Good thing you went back to WL when you did or you probably would've not had time to get ready for your MNSSHP that night. Hopefully other people weren't held back by the glitch in the system as well, definitely not a good start to a stay at the lovely Wilderness Lodge.

Can't wait to read about your first MNSSHP! :mickeyjum

Don't worry, I understand! Take your time, just glad you're still here! :cool1:

The WL is great, I love that it seems so secluded and yet, if you look from the right angle, you can see the castle! I love that they say Welcome Home! It's the little things!

I would like to give CSR another try, but I doubt Brandon would ever consider it. He really hated it there. For someone who claims to not love Disney like I do, he was certainly annoyed at the lack of "Disney feel" there! :rotfl:

I love the GF! :lovestruc How could you not love that place? I price out trips there all the time. It's never going to happen for me. Unless we don't go for a few years and save up. It's so much more expensive than the other deluxes. But it has princesses walking around. That's probably why. Royal fees and all.

My first MNSSHP was a lot of fun, but OMG...crowded!

Love the pictures of the castle. That last one is awesome.

Thank you! I'm so happy I got a new camera for this trip! :)

I really wish we had gone to Tomorrowland like you had!!!! Our choice was not so smart!!!! I'm glad you had a better time than I did!! :)

LOL, well, we didn't plan it that way, it just kind of worked out that I wanted to eat there, so we happened to be over there! If I was in that mob in the middle, I probably would have cried or something!

Don't worry I won't leave you and your report :goodvibes
It doesnt feel like its dragging out on the readers end so dont worry!!

Your pictures are BEAUTIFUL!!! I am jealous, neither of our cameras would take a good night time picture of the castle lit up!! Even though the fireworks werent much different its cool knowing you were there for the 40th!

I loved the show on the castle as well, we were sort of far away though so next time Id like to see it up close!

I agree we rode Big Thunder at night time and it felt like a whole new ride, so cool!!

How nice of you guys to bring that bag to lost and found, I hope the owner got it back, that would be terrible to lose all that stuff!

Yay, thanks, I got nervous that I was taking too long with this TR, usually I'm a lot faster! :goodvibes

Thanks! I kept switching settings for the castle show, so I got some terrible pictures too, I'm still playing around with this camera, but I'm happy we got some good ones!

I have a new appreciation for BTMRR after riding it in the dark!

Wow....yes, very different from my experience! I think you were in a good spot to escape into a less crowded area. Like I said in my TR, once I got to Adventureland, it was pretty much empty but we were all just STUCK in the spot in front of Crystal Palace and it was pure chaos!

I cant' BELIEVE you were able to score 40th maps that late at night! I thought for sure they were all gone by the morning.

That was so great of you guys to bring the camera to the lost and found. I'm sure that person was VERY thankful for that!

I have seen pics of that night on a few other TR's, and Main Street to the castle just looked mobbed! I'm glad we stayed off to the side for a quick escape! I don't really remember it being that crowded after the fireworks were over!

I remember reading your TR, and how you guys didn't get maps at first, and I was thinking "that's weird, I got them at night!" I'm glad we got something, because we obviously missed out on the buttons!

Wow, how great that you guys were the ones that found that camera bag! If that was me, I would have been so immensely grateful that someone turned it in to lost and found.

Don't worry dear. You're not losing readers. At least you'll never lose this one.

I love Wishes. :cloud9: I keep thinking about the song. Just love it. I have it on my iPod and just love listening to it. I actually just managed to snag the dessert party for January. I'm so excited to see it with someone that's never seen it before.

I felt like it was almost wrong to go in that bag and look around, but we just wanted to see what was in it, if it was just a camera, or more important stuff, and it was this guy's entire life in that bag!

Aww, thanks!

I love Wishes too! I listen to it all the time in my car! Ohh, I love the dessert party! I really need to do it again sometime! :thumbsup2

I always know when my husband likes something in WDW b/c he takes video/pictures, too! :lmao: I was seriously LOL!

You're pictures are great. We were able to find a pretty great spot for the fireworks and we muddled our way to Tomorrowland after the fireworks.

I'm so bummed we never ran into you! Are you guys planning on going next fall?

Haha, that's funny, Brandon pretends he doesn't care about Disney, but he's the one taking all the video, and then when we get home, he'll randomly play them for me to watch!

Thanks! I can't believe we never saw you guys either! Actually, I'm like 99% sure I walked by you at MNSSHP. I should have said something. But if it wasn't you I would have felt SO stupid! :rotfl:

As of now, May is our last planned trip for next year. :sad1: However, I'm seriously considering a solo trip at some point. If so many DISers are going in the fall, maybe I'll go then so at least I'll have some people to hang out with! It all depends.

Looks like you guys chose a great spot for the show/fireworks! I've never eaten at Cosmic Rays, but it does look really good!

It was a great spot for the fireworks, and we totally kind of stumbled upon it by accident! :cool1: Cosmic Rays is really good, I'm glad we tried it!

Great update Jen!

I know the feeling about thinking you are losing readers. I think there are always people that sub and never come back. Happens to me all the time and I hate it. But it's life on the DIS boards.

I love your TR and saw your pics before I left for work. You definitely did a great job with your new camera and I love :lovestruc the castle pics. That's such a cool show. I guess they can't do that now with the castle all lit up (or can they????:confused3)

Wonderful evening in the MK. Loved the firework pics. Can't wait to get back there in just a few short weeks! :cool1:

Thanks!

It's sad to think you are losing readers, but I know a lot of people sub and then forget about it! :rotfl: And the people you become friendly with on the DIS always seem to stick with you, and we all go back and forth and read each other's TR's, so I'm grateful for all of you guys, I love that we all share our trips! :goodvibes

Thank you! I can't wait to see what kind of pics I will get of the castle, all lit up with my camera, I hope they come out good! :yay: I'm pretty sure they are still doing MM&Y, because they added a gingerbread house scene, from what I've read! :thumbsup2

I know, I can't wait!!! :cool1:

I'm still here too!! Enjoying hearing all about your trip :thumbsup2
Fantastic pictures. Makes me want to be there.
That would have been great if they were able to find the owner of the camera bag.

Yay, thanks, I'm glad you are still here! :cool1:

Thanks, me too, I can't wait to be there in 8 days! :dance3:

I LOVE reading your TR! I am not going anywhere:thumbsup2

I can tell you first hand how grateful "Peter" was to have his vacation life stuff back because almost the same thing happened to us on our last trip. Our DD (9) wanted to carry her very own camera this year so we gave her our small digital one. She had in it some very important things (her Tomorrowland license, a few special pins that she didn't want to trade, ok, well, important to her:lmao:) and she left it at dinner at Liberty Tree. Someone, nice, like you, found it, took it Lost and Found and turned it in. She cried all the way the down Main Street because she begged us to let her carry it and then she left it. I was so grateful to whoever picked it up and returned it. People that do the right thing should always get lots of pixie dust:wizard:

What an amazing night being in MK on the 40th!:cloud9:

Thanks, I'm so glad! :cool1:

Awww, your poor DD, losing everything! I'm so glad she got it back, that would have been horrible if she didn't!

I'm glad we were in MK for the 40th, even if it was only for the end!

Cool photos, and you're right, there's no way to improve on the perfection that is Wishes!

Thanks! LOL, no, Wishes is pretty much perfect the way it is! I don't know what I'll do if they ever change it! :scared1:

That sounds like a pretty good day to me. I love Eeyore too! Its really the one reason I first booked Crystal Palace. I went to Target last night and picked up more gel window clings I don't need.:lmao: They also have feet and hand warmers for $1 just in case.

I'm so going to Target tomorrow to get a few more window clings. I have almost everything. It's ridiculous how excited I am to decorate my window. I drew out a plan and everything! Oh, and I got a dry erase princess board, so if you see one, leave me a message! :rotfl: I don't know how to attach it to the door, though! :confused3

Love it!

Yay!! Thanks! Haha, I almost regret not going to MK that morning, but...I'll definitely be there for the 50th! :thumbsup2

BTMRR is so much fun at night, I can't believe it took me so long to try it!

Agh! I missed the start of your TR, Jen, but I'm completely caught up now!!

3. I am now subscribed so I don't miss anything else! :rotfl:

OMG you're here!!! I've been wondering where you have been! Yay!!! :goodvibes

I did my nails myself! It's just regular pink nail polish with a black crackle top coat. I searched everywhere for the OPI black crackle and couldn't find it, so I got the Sally Hansen kind and it worked great! :thumbsup2 I had to take it off half way through the trip though, it started to chip!

I can't wait to go again this month! It's such a magical time to go!

Yay I'm so glad you're here! I can't wait for you to update your TR! :yay:

Yay, another update! I enjoy reading about your trip and don't think the report is dragging at all.

Great firework shots and that was nice of the CM to thank you loads for handing the bag into them - I hope the owner got it back

Thanks, I'm glad you don't think it's dragging! When I realized I was only on day 3 and I've been writing for 2 months, I kind of freaked out! :rotfl:

The castle show is so awesome! I can't wait to see it again this month!

Thanks! I will update you guys about the camera bag, but it's a few days later!

Great update! :thumbsup2 I'm SO stinking jealous that you were at MK on its 40th anniversary! That is so memorable! Girl, save those maps forever! You can give them to your grandchildren someday... :goodvibes

Thanks! The map is so cute, I'm definitely saving it! :thumbsup2 I'm glad we were there, even if it was for a short time!

Cosmic Ray's is really good! Well, what I had was, I don't know about the rest of it, but it has a pretty decent variety!

As far as I know, they are still doing MM&Y every night! I can't wait to see it again!

I don't know what I was expecting for the fireworks. They were amazing, as always, I just thought there might be a little 40th anniversary song added in!

Thanks! I would hope if other people found something that valuable, they would bring it to lost and found. I guess a lot of people wouldn't, though. :sad2: That's sad, I thought about this poor guy and how freaked out he must have been, looking everywhere for his stuff! I am always checking to make sure I have everything when I'm in Disney...wallet, phone, and camera, I always have to know I have those 3 things on me! :rotfl:

I expected something more from the 40th anniversary fireworks, too. Of course, we were on the Adventureland side of things, so our experience was a bit different than yours.

I'm glad you got to go on BTMRR at night. I love seeing the Castle all lit up from BTMRR. Splash Mountain at night is kind of fun, too, assuming it's not too cold.

I think MVMCP is a great decision. Holiday Wishes and the snow on Main Street and the parade and the cookies and cocoa are so very Christmasy. I really wanted to go this year, but the only day we could make it has sold out.

LOL, it seems like everyone kind of expected more from the fireworks! They were good, I just thought there might be something a little different, you know? :rotfl:

Huh. I don't know if I remember even seeing the castle from BTMRR! We did do Splash at night, on another night, and I remember seeing the castle, that was amazing! :lovestruc

I have to do another quick December PTR update, because there are some new changes (of course!) and it involves MVMCP!

I thought it was very nice of you and Brandon to return the guest's missing bag. I'm sure that person was extremely relieved when he went to look for it and realized someone had turned it in for him. Always great to see others spreading the pixie dust.:wizard:

So many people love BTMRR! It's a lot of fun at night, I'm glad we did it!

I wasn't sure what to expect with MM&Y either, but I loved it! I can't wait to see it again!

Splash is really creepy at night! :scared1: Going down the drop in the dark is so much fun, I don't normally get nervous with big drops, but that actually made me nervous!

Thanks! :wizard:

Jen, I'm still here. I've noticed people dropping off on a lot of threads; I think everyone is just busy with the holidays, etc.

I'm glad you got to be there for the 40th anniversary...we missed it by two days. :sad2: You got some great shots of the fireworks.

Isn't Big Thunder awesome at night? I'm still upset it will be closed in January.

Glad you are still here! I don't think I even though of that, people being busy with the holidays! I always forget, people have lives outside of the DIS! :rotfl:

It was nice being at the 40th, I like being at WDW for special things like that! It's too bad you missed it by only 2 days!

I love BTMRR at night, it's definitely become a must do now! :woohoo: Aww, that's too bad it will be closed when you are there! I'm waiting for the day that Soarin' or ToT is closed when I'm there...I'll probably have a panic attack or something! :rotfl:

My dry erase board came with foam double sided tape and magnets. The door is metal so magnets work or a suction cup to hold the string maybe? I used silver garland around mine.

My dry erase board came with foam double sided tape and magnets. The door is metal so magnets work or a suction cup to hold the string maybe? I used silver garland around mine.

I don't think I even checked the back! I'm guessing there are neither of those on there, since it's from the dollar store, there it a little rope thing attached to it, so it can hang from somewhere. I'll try a suction cup, hopefully that will work! :thumbsup2

One Week!!!

AHHHHH!!! I can't believe I'll be back in Disney World in ONE. WEEK. Seriously, next week at this time, I'll be sitting on the plane, almost ready to land! I thought I should do one last little PTR update and let you know about some changes...

Of course, I have made some changes to this trip. Wouldn't be a Disney trip of mine without changing things around! :rolleyes1

Our first big change is...we will NOT be doing MVMCP this trip! :scared1: I know, I'm as shocked as you guys are! We just decided that since we have done it 2 years in a row, it was kind of a waste of money, since I just wanted to go for the parade and fireworks. Yes, I will miss the snow on Main Street and Holiday Wishes, but there's always next year, right? :)

The next thing isn't so much a change, as it is an addition...we will be going on the Holiday Sleigh Ride at Fort Wilderness on our arrival day!

1607jih.jpg

I'm SO excited for this! I can't wait to see the campsites all decorated! And since we will already be in MK, we just have to hop on the boat over to FW! Our ride is at 10:30 so depending on what time it ends, we might come back to MK until 1 am, but if we're exhausted, we will just skip it!

The next day we were supposed to be eating at Captain's Grille before the Osborne Lights, but I finally got us an ADR at Cape May Cafe instead! :woohoo: We both really love the dinner there, so I'm excited to go back!

Monday was supposed to be our Candlelight Processional night, but since we aren't doing MVMCP, we switched that to Tuesday. Monday we will be going to the Magic Kingdom that night...we have to be there by 6 so I can finally see the castle lighting! :lovestruc

And Tuesday is our last full day, and our Candlelight Processional dinner package day, so we will be having dinner at Rose and Crown and then seeing the CP at 6:45. I cannot wait to see it, it seems like it is going to be really beautiful!

If you have noticed I don't have any plans during the day, that's because I think we're going to try to just go wherever we feel like during the day! I have no breakfast or lunch ADR's planned, so we're just going to do whatever we want when we wake up! I'd like to get to Epcot one day and AK another, but I'm not sure when. And I'd like to see some of the resort decorations. Since I have already seen the monorail loop decorated, I was thinking of doing the Epcot resorts. We also have to fit in DTD at some point, but we might just do that the day we leave since we will have a few hours to kill before we have to go to the airport!

I'm SO excited for this trip! I still can't believe it's almost here!!! :santa:

Jen, are we on the same updating schedule???? :rotfl:

Your trip sounds like a blast! I love that picture of the sleigh ride! It makes me want to take one! :rolleyes1

:woohoo: Yeah for one week. I'm at 10 days and I know how you feel. Driving home from work in tons of traffic was killing me yesterday. And it didn't help the melissa (mickeysmyboy) was texting me pictures of her pool side drinks.

:faint:

Yay for only one week left!!! :cool1::cool1: I think the carriage ride sounds like so much fun, and you'll definitely be doing a lot of holiday things even without MVMCP! The Epcot resorts do have cute decorations, I won't give them away if you're looking to be surprised, but definitely check out the Beach Club, Yacht Club, and Boardwalk - and the Swan and Dolphin too! They also put up pretty decorations :goodvibes

How exciting just one week  I am SO jealous..though Im sure Ive said that earlier in your report :rotfl: I know you will miss the parade and fireworks, but how cool for the sleigh ride!! I hear the campgrounds usually are decorated and people get really into it..so that would be so cool to see :goodvibes

I am really eager to read about your whole next trip as well because its all things I have never done before (with the exception of Cape May :rotfl:)

Will they be doing Holiday Wishes and/or the Christmas parade at all when you're there? I know on a couple of the trips we've taken after Christmas we've seen the parade and I thought they also did the holiday fireworks a couple times. But maybe they don't start that until later if they still do that.

I'm still reading! I just have been really bad at commenting lately.

It's a bit disappointing that they didn't do more with the fireworks for the 40th. At least you weren't stuck in those crazy crowds and was able to enjoy some rides. I agree that BTM is awesome at night!

That poor guy! He must have had a panic attack when he found out his stuff was missing! That was very nice of you to bring it back. At least because he had some info in there they probably were able to trace him back.

Looks like you have a great trip planned! I think it's a nice idea to leave mornings/afternoons free, though I'm not sure I would be able to handle it. Hahaha
