One more F! Dessert Package question

I've got a question about the proceedure if you take part in the F! Dessert Package.

It looks like you line up to get assigned or select a seat, then you have some free time before needing to return for the show. If this format is correct, how early should you line up for the seat assignment and given that you are having to wait for that to begin, then walk elsewhere for an attraction then back again for the show, are you really saving that much time over the regular guests? Our last visit, we did NOT to the package but are considering it this trip. Of course, I know the seats are a big plus, but I was wondering how much time you actually saved.

We did this in August, and lined up around 6:15 for the seat assignment. Since there was only 2 of us we weren't able to do much duing the time we were waiting but others in line before us would have one person wait while another took kids on rides.

We were like 6th in line but it moved pretty quick once the seat assignment part started. We were told to come back maybe 15 minutes before the show started which gave us about 45 minutes. we checked ride times and everything seemed really busy so we did some pin shopping in NOS and then just went back and sat down in the chairs.

There were 2 shows since it was summer; I think those who picked the 2nd show would have had more time to to and catch a ride or two.

That was our experience; I think it all depends too on how soon you want to line up and what times are like when seat assignment starts.

Folks do the F! dessert seating for different reasons. To my mind it is to save time and have a comfy seat. It is totally a splurge and not something to me one should always do.

For that reason we usually show up around 7:45 to get our seat assignments. Then we only need to wait about 20 minutes to get the seat. Others who like the first row show up at 6. They are not interested in saving time so much as getting a great seat. Since only one person has to wait for seat assignments for the the whole group, this can work out great if that one person is willing to wait while everyone continues to enjoy the park.
