One More Disney Day?

Anyone know what time the monorails and/or buses will start running Wednesday morning?
I was wondering the same thing. Don't they generally base that on the park's operating hours for the day? If that's the case, then I would guess early … they'll just about have to get the buses running early, at least. I'll ask at guest services the first time I'm in a park, which will either be this evening or definitely tomorrow, and I'll report back here what I'm told.

Info is now floating around on the web regarding various elements of this day. I'll repost here with out attribution because the same info has been poping up all over the web.

First, I've read that Disney will be providing transportation at all hours of the day to support this event but it doesn't say the frequency or intervals of the bus runs. In general, buses run 60-90 minutes before park opening so a guest should be good if they are traveling from the resort to the park.

Be aware that the resort monorail line is running slower that normal because of problems with one of the beams. In general, people have been reporting frequent delays and service outages with the monorail lines so buyer beware if you are going that way.

Hope to see you there!

That sounds great, we have a "Keys to the Kingdom" tour at 9:30 AM for 5 hours. We will have to see what we can work out. Can't wait.

I've been traveling the last three weeks, so sorry for being late to the discussion. Some friends of mine are meeting up for a sunrise shoot. My only worry is that there will be hordes of other folks blocking my scene, but all I can do is try.

If you and your friends are still around at 11:30 come to lunch at Columbia Harbor house. See previous posts for details.

Spent yesterday at Animal Kingdom in what was, for me, absolutely perfect weather. We started the day at Tusker House (our only ADR this trip). I had hoped to do Kilimanjaro Safaris near park opening, but I'm resigned more and more to the fact that the only way I'll make it to a park that early is by myself. The park was open until 8 pm, so I was able to do a little shooting after dark. High never broke above 67° all day.

Today and tomorrow, however, show chances of rain around 70 to 80 percent. Sigh. Magic Kingdom and/or Epcot today. Weather forecast for Wednesday at this point is more favorable -- just says "partly cloudy."

I hope you guys all have a great time. I expect to see GREAT things posted here when you get back. In fact, don't come back if you don't have great shots. No..... wait..... that's hardly punishment.......

Regardless........ have fun!

(cowering in the corner) But, but, but I'm new to pano shots and HDR processing!!! :sad1: It will take me awhile to learn how to work all the software I'm going to use for processing the images from this trip!

I think an excellent subject matter for One More Disney Day would be snapping all the people who have passed out at the park and couldn't take it anymore.... Where is Scott Smith and his "Disney's Human Element" photo blog when you need him (Hey Scott are you coming to OMDD???)

Magic Kingdom today. Skies were gray and threatening all day, but we never got more than a few random drops here and there a couple of times. But then, I was just about ready to hang myself before we made it to the park -- we were up at about 9 am but it took until after 2 pm to finally get everyone (meaning my mother-in-law) dragged into the park. You'd have thought she was getting ready to go to the ball and had to wait for the mice to make her dress. And then my wife got ill late -- we started to leave at about 9:30 and it took several restroom stops and two trips to first aid, a courtesy wheelchair loan, about four "just in case" barf bags, and two hours to get her to the car from our starting point in Tomorrowland. She seems to be resting okay now, so I hope she'll be back on her feet tomorrow. Unless she needs medical attention, she'll be just as comfortable here as at home, so I don't think we'll bug out early, but of course I want her to have a good time and feel well too.

Not sure where we're going tomorrow (provisionally, of course, if my wife is up to going), but I think DHS is the likely target park.

I bet Scott will find a way to be there. If not, we're going to need you to pitch hit for "Disney's Human Element". That's what I'm looking forward to most. I have every confidence you'll bring back some great stuff. No pressure..... GREAT stuff!

So sorry things were off to a rocky start for your family. I hope your wife bounces back quickly and you end up having a great trip!

Well, we were planning on going today (Monday), but I am not interested in dodging the rain. Looks like our plans have shifted to Friday. Still not looking good for the 29th.

So far this morning she seems to be feeling a bit better, but she's planning to take it easy and maybe visit Downtown Disney later today. My older son has some homework to complete for the week he's missing, so that may be his mission today (I'm sure he'll be just thrilled). So I have a solo day -- trying to decide what to do with it.

SSB

Went solo to DHS this past afternoon. It rained a bit the last 90 minutes or so the park was open, which meant it became almost deserted. Had some fun shooting and dodging the drops, especially since I used my fisheye during the rain. Afterward I went to The Magic Kingdom just in time to try shooting "Th Magic, the Memories, and You." Shots look okay on the LCD -- downloading them now. Also did a little more shooting there until park close. Now resting my feet and contemplating tomorrow (i.e., later today). My wife is up and back on her feet, so I expect tomorrow to be a full day.

Also trying to plan how to balance park time and rest on the 29th. May write off sunset that day, especially if I'm back in the Magic Kingdom tomorrow and have a chance at it.

SSB

Did DHS again today with the family, then over the Epcot for Illuminations. I came back immediately afterward. I've downloaded today's photos (just a few), put the battery on the charger, and am about to shower and dive into bed. Pln to be up no later than 4:30 and head to park by 5 am.

SSB

I also overheard two cast members talking in the queue for Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, saying that Wishes will be the 180° version Wednesday night. Wondering if I'd be better off capturing that from the TTC than from inside the park ... anyone shoot those and have an opinion?

Sleeping now -- or very, very soon!

SSB

About to head out to the Magic Kingdom. Appears to be rather foggy, which may not bode well for sunrise. Oh well -- I'd always regret it if I weren't there this morning. At least I'll be able to say I was there for what will probably be the earliest rope drop in Magic Kingdom history!

SSB

I was right; sunrise was a bust. Had heavy fog. But the fog was kinda cool shrouding the castle and Haunted Mansion. Met a few other photographers and saw a few Disney Internet celebrities. Chatted for a couple of minutes with Ricky Brigante.

Now cooling my heels in Tomorrowland; I've filled one 16GB card and am working on the second!
