If you have booked a room with points for 2a and 2c and then one of the children can't come do you need to ring DVC and let them know in advance?

If you are getting one of the Dining Plans, then you really need to let them know by calling or via email. If no Dining Plan is involved, then the change can be made at check-in.

FYI- If any of your ADR are one's that required deposit (signature dining- CRT, dinner shows, Fantasmic packages, or for Christmas- candlelight processional) then you do need to call in advance to adjust the number on the reservations to avoid possible charges for the person that won't be attending... I ran into this same circumstance for Christmas and had deposit for Cadlelight processional dining package and CRT...

slightly off topic but can you change a person before you go? We may be taking one nephew versus another based on school schedules. We have a reservation booked with their names for a studio. If someone backs out can we change who is in that studio? Thanks

Yes, you can change names on a reservation.
