:crazy2: :crazy2:

although I have to say I am not all that shocked.

http://www.newsnet5.com/dpp/news/health/survey-1-in-5-americans-admit-to-using-public-pool-as-toilet

A recent survey conducted by the Water Quality and Health Council found one in five Americans admit to using a public pool for quick relief (urinating) and seven in 10 confessed to skipping a shower before going for a swim.

Last summer, the Water Quality and Health Council mailed more than 32,000 free pool test strips to swimmers. Data submitted by swimmers across the nation last summer showed that 54% of pools tested had unacceptable chlorine levels and 47% had inappropriate pH levels.

One in 5 admit to peeing in the pool, and 4 of 5 admit to lying about not peeing in the pool ;)

It's still probably cleaner than some of our drinking water.

I haven't done it since I was about 5!

My father told me one day when he caught me going that he way going to get this water conditioner that would turn the water red if I peed so everyone would know.

I still think about that :lmao:...So I can HONESTLY say I am one of the few that don't.

There is a town not to far away from me that has a holiday inn and in the pool area it states don't pee in the pool as it has a dye in it that will turn the pool water green when someone pees.

I guess they got tired of the pool being used as an out house.

and 5 in 5 will announce on the DIS that they've NEVER done such a thing!!

So, statistically speaking at least two people who've commented so far are ones who do it?

:rotfl:

SO maybe my dad WASN'T fibbing:confused:...Is there such a chemical?

Apparently, among Olympic swimmers, this is a very common thing to do. They just keep swimming.

There is no chemical that reveals urine in the pool..what there ARE, are companies that sell signs to make you THINK there is a magical chemical in the water ;)

Generally speaking, urine is one of the cleaner substances your body produces. A properly chlorinated (or over-chlorinated) pool, pretty much sterilizes anything that enters the water at any rate. (With a few more ermm..solid..exceptions...though even in that case, the offending substance is removed and the pool might be shock treated that evening.) Pee in the pool is really a case of mind over matter- pay it no mind, 'cause it really doesn't matter..lol.

How was the question worded?

I've peed in the pool.

When I was about three, but I distinctly remember doing it. If the question was "Have you peed in a pool?" I'd have to say yes. If it was "In the last year (or decade, or quarter century . . . )" the answer would be different.
