One became SEVEN?!? How did THAT happen? 4/24 UPDATE

My mammogram is done. As I walked back in the door, Christian said they had just called from the Sports Med office. Called them back, MRI is set up for tomorrow, follow-up appt Friday (MD is off Wednesday and Thursday). Three phone calls later and I have Friday set up with only 3 MD appts now...but 2 things were put off till next week...thank God for calendars!

************************************************

Tracy, I am praying for your nephew and his whole family. In 1967, when my daughter was born (weighing 2 lbs 6 oz,) they allowed me 1 phone call to the NICU per day at a specific time--miss it, too bad. I was allowed to look at her through the NICU window twice a week for 15 minutes maximum and allowed 1 visitor besides myself to view her. Things are so much better now!

I would have gone nuts, but a friend from high school was doing her pediatric residency in the NICU and she called me daily to give me more personal and less clinical updates. It was still very difficult.
It is MUCH better than it used to be. Thank goodness for your friend.
Praying that you get the order for the MRI very quickly so Lisa can get going on her rehab.
God Bless you Kathy and THANK YOU for the prayers.
Okay, Mrs. Thang, I can't keep up with you and Tracy! Ya'll are getting busy with the updates. I love the pictures with the kids beside the paver. It's so special to know that there's something there to commemorate Lisa's wish trip. You know those grasshoppers? We have them here in Louisiana and the stupid things like to hop on our plants and eat 'em up. Let's just say that they only make that mistake once after I catch them in the act.:rolleyes1

The time share looks so pretty and I know that it's a great feeling to know you have a lot of space to move around in.

Praying that the MRI can be ordered and done quickly so that a therapy plan can be put into place.

Tracy, thanks for posting pictures of that sweet little nephew of your's. Continued prayers for him!
And here I was thinking it has been quiet around here. :rotfl2: Tracy and I are TRYING to get busy finding a good place to stay! :faint: Once we get over that hurdle I know we will both give a huge sigh of relief. I agree, Lisa deserved that paver...it was so great to see it and I LOVED where they placed it. That grasshopper was HUGE, made me think of a plague of locusts. They could have eaten a plant in two bites, I don't blame you for not letting them take over. I would LOVE to live in that times share year round, as David said when we first stayed there, who knew Uncle Tommy had such a fancy place. :confused3:rotfl2: I am ready for the Therapy to begin! AND to hear that he was being overly cautious...always have to put a little worry in my mind. :sad2:

hello just thought i'd let you know that in 1979 my sister was born at 25 weeks in the womb, she weighed 1.9 oz and dropped to 1.7 she spent 99 days in NICU and 3 days in the reg nursery and then came home.. at Age 2 she had eye surgury for a lazy eye and today she is a health happy 34 year old woman! sending your family positive thoughts and pixie dust! Michelle

:welcome::welcome::welcome: to our PTR! Thank you for sharing such a happy story with us, I love to read good news. :cloud9:

Tracy, what a cutie Emile is.

Judy, praying that the MRI is scheduled quickly and that Lisa gets treatment soon.
Thanks Krystal. :goodvibes I don't know if you will be around or not but I should be home tonight between 6:30 and 7:45.

Judy, I looked up avascular necrosis, scary to think about. I really don't know how you deal with this day in and day out. I am glad they got the MRI scheduled so quickly.
Tracy, I love the latest picture of Emile. :goodvibes He is adorable.

Tracy your nephew definitely is a cutie, glad to hear that he is doing good so far.

Judy, sorry that the sports medicine doctor wants to do an MRI first, but glad that they got it set up so quickly for her. Glad that they are going to let her do some stretches in the meantime too.

Thoughts and prayers to all that need them.

Marilyn

Gail,

I perused that website, she has some good recipes and the cookbook looks great. Some of the substitutes are pricey, but she did a great job changing her body, way of thinking and life. Thank you for sharing!

I wil also chekc out the summit and hope I can listen.

We finally had a chance to watch the CD you and Billy sent us, we LOVED it! I honestly think he could have another career if he wanted in video editing and as a videographer, he has a good eye/ear for it! So do you and I wondered if you did any of it?? :goodvibes

If you didn't have to worry about yard work I would be so happy! :thumbsup2 I could see you moving closer to me. :rolleyes1

Tell Billy good luck tomorrow at the MD.

Hi Judy, I read your e-mail to Billy and he was really tickled by everyone's comment on his DVD. He really does enjoy putting those together. The ones on there are all his doing.

I'll e-mail or try to call you tomorrow morning to let you know about Billy's appointment and what the doctor said. Having company over for dinner and I need to start prepping. Making a new recipe, Pork Fried Rice, from Melissa's web site. Billy's been wanting corn bread and I'll have to try her remake recipe for that but not for tonight.

Billy had asked me a few days ago if you mentioned watching the DVD. He read the e-mail from you again before leaving for the eye doctor. He had a terrible morning with Walgreen's getting his prescription filled and he still needs to go back to pick up one that was not ready. He got over it pretty fast and his mood brightened by remembering all your kind words. Thanks for making his day better!

Michelle.... Michelle!!!!I am SO excited to see you here, I have MISSED YOU!!! Thanks for sneaking in! I have asked about you, wished you were here and hoped you were well!!! You are NEVER a bad DISer OR friend, I love you to pieces and I am glad to see you any time you have a free minute. I hope it isn't months before you log in again, BUT if it is, I will be happy to see you! It is so hard to believe we get to go back to Florida, I am so THANKFUL!!! Speaking of Thankful, THANK YOU for the donation to the MAW walk. :goodvibes

 I missed you too. I don't even know why I don't have time like before. I have not even been sewing either. :scared1:

But I have discovered this place called the library (you can get books for free :rotfl2:) and been reading too much. My kids keep telling me to put down the books.:rolleyes1

OOOH I hear you Chiara, sleep is an elusive creature in my life too. May we BOTH get better sleep! :thumbsup2 But I don't have a newborn either, you expend a lot of energy all day everyday and you NEED some rest!

:cloud9: Sleep.... I remember what that used to be

My sister got released today, all her levels are back to normal now that the pesky placenta is out of the way.
Emile is right on track, no complecations he is just tiny and needs to grow a bit.
He is as cute as can be, he kinds of reminds me of a new born kitten, wrinkly and eyes not open yet. :)

I know this is really dark, his 'pod' is kept dark (unless he need the UV light for jaundice, but he gets 'sunglasses' when he sun tans.)
This me and my nephew:

I appreciate all the prayers and kind words! :goodvibes

Praying for you nephew. I remember how tiny my DD was when she was born. She was 4lbs 1oz and I remember the cats were bigger than her. Now she is one of the tallest girls in her 5th grade class.

Thank you my dear, I would never want to cause you added stress because my words came out wrong.:goodvibes I hope you have a marvelous day and that everyone stays healthy and happy. I hope there are LOTS of pretty pumpkins at the farm, I have been pumpkin picking with all 4 of mine at this age and it was a great time, I know you will enjoy it. :goodvibes

Love you bunches.

No stress from you. I know how hard it can be to get feelings across when your typing words on a computer. :flower3: We did have a great day today!! It was colder than I was hoping (62 if I remember right and yes that's cold for us especially with the wind blowing. :rotfl:) The kids had a great time feeding the sheep. Sarah was a little scared so she'd only do it when I helped her which was fine (at least she was willing to do it). Then they enjoyed learning about pumpkins and then off course went and picked out their pumpkins. Here's Sarah with her's:

I got to go with Jeremy both last year and this year and had a great time also. Can't wait to be able to do it with James in the future and the new baby too. But that can wait. Don't want them growing up too fast!!

Well the inevitable did happen. After I got home today I realized I was more tired than I should have been. Got Jeremy from school at 2 pm, put Sarah and James down for their nap, helped Jeremy with homework and then I laid down on the couch while he watching a show. Woke up with a sore throat, stuffy nose and headache. So not happy that I'm now sick but thankfully I have nothing else going on this week expect getting kids to and from school which if I call the right people I can get them rides so I don't have to go out.

Glad that they are getting Lisa in so fast. Hope she's able to go back to ballet next week!! Love you and hope your week isn't too crazy!!

I had a horrible headache last night and just couldnt DIS last night. I admit the stress of Lisas MD appointment got to me. No matter how many times we hear news that is worrisome, it truly is always a surprise. I know all of the stuff that can go wrong based on Lisas laundry list of medical issues/medications/treatments...I just never expect it to happen. I truly dont. I chose a long time ago to not live in fear; but, to live with intentions and happiness. That works great for me; however, it DOES throw me a curve ball when things pop up.

That being said, I thought I would lighten things up and share some family fun from this past Sunday evening. We had 2 pumpkins for the children. Christian and Lisa teamed up. Rachel wanted to do one by herself, which was fine with David. David decided he would rather make (and eat muffins). Pete and I took turns taking pics (314 to be exact!) and Pete started the pumpkin clean out. I was DJing Halloween songs. Bandit wasnt impressed. I narrowed the pics down to 50...there was a lot of fun and laughter at my house. After we carved pumpkins, we had the pleasure of watching a DVD Billy had made for us...it was just a great family evening together.

Please keep Tracy and her nephew, Emile in prayer. The rollercoaster days of the ICU were around yesterday and she was tired herself last night.

Now we are off to Lisas MRI.

The Mickey, Goofy, Donald Pumpkin is to make sure we remember this is all about Disney...which = family fun for us. This was the first halloween decoration I purchased after we lost all of our decorations in our house fire, and it meant a lot to me. It was also the first year I ever went to Disney World and my love affair began....

Judy, sending good thoughts for Lisa's MRI today.

I love the pumpkin carving pictures with the kids. I miss those days of carving pumpkins.

They did great; and can I please have a muffin?

Love your pumpkin carving pictures. We are going to my parents to do this later. This is an annual tradition with my dad.

First and foremost....good luck at the MRI!

Now, how 'bout those pumpkin carving and muffin making skills those kiddos of your's have! They did great jobs!

Prayers for Tracy and Emile! Tracy, I hope the baby continues to get stronger and you get some rest.

Lisa's hat and wig are just fantastic :rotfl: The pumpkins came out great and those muffins look good too! Good luck at the MRI, I hope you get good news!

Judy - just wanted to say I am so excited for you and your new trip!

I haven't been around much - I am pulled between some very wonderful happenings and some very sad happenings...

First the awesome - dd is a finalist for a $140000.00 scholarship!!!! She has to commit by Nov 5 so we are frantically trying to make a trip to the school this weekend. She is a great kid and very deserving and there are 29 kids competing at this point for 10 spots (there were 16oo originally) The bad - we called I hospice for my dad and he won't be with us for long. My heart is breaking. Hard to have such conflicting emotions and prayers are requested.

The MRI went fine, although they didn't have ear plugs for me and my head was ringing from the loud noise. Lisa lay so still they couldn't believe it. She didn't move once. We will not have the results until Friday afternoon. Thank you all for the good wishes and prayers. :goodvibes

AVN is a very scary thing. I am trying hard to not let my mind dwell in fear.
Tracy your nephew definitely is a cutie, glad to hear that he is doing good so far.

Judy, sorry that the sports medicine doctor wants to do an MRI first, but glad that they got it set up so quickly for her. Glad that they are going to let her do some stretches in the meantime too.

Thank you Marilyn. I had a friend point out how fortunate it was that the doctor wanted to ensure he was actually diagnosing correctly and not assuming. I have to agree. We haven't done a lot of stretches yet, she was so sore after the exam, I actually thought he re-injured her. Praying your Dad is doing as well as he can.

I am generally a lurker and I enjoy Judy's pre-trip/trip reports. I have been quietly reading since Lisa's Wish Trip.

I am posting today to ask for prayers for my mother. She has pneumonia and was just released from the hospital. I have never seen her this sick and weak. It is so scary to see her this way.

Thank you.

Christine, first :welcome::welcome: I am so happy you came out of lurkdom and knew that we would welcome you with open arms as we prayed for your Mom. May you feel the peace and grace that God's love provides. Please know you have a mighty prayer group here, there are far more folks like you who lurk than post and I believe with my entire heart they pray for all who ask.:hug: PLEASE keep us posted.
Sending prayers and hugs.

Thank you Kathy. :goodvibes

Hello, everyone! Jumping on real quick to ask all prayer warriors to pray for my grandmother. We are in the ER getting her admitted due to recent finding of a stroke. I honestly believe it occurred at the end of my grandfathers funeral.

Judy, happy to hear MRI went well and praying for good results. Prayers for everyone!
