One became SEVEN?!? How did THAT happen? 4/24 UPDATE

Hello, everyone! Jumping on real quick to ask all prayer warriors to pray for my grandmother. We are in the ER getting her admitted due to recent finding of a stroke. I honestly believe it occurred at the end of my grandfathers funeral.

Judy, happy to hear MRI went well and praying for good results. Prayers for everyone!

Sending prayers for your grandmother.

Hi Judy, I read your e-mail to Billy and he was really tickled by everyone's comment on his DVD. He really does enjoy putting those together. The ones on there are all his doing.

I'll e-mail or try to call you tomorrow morning to let you know about Billy's appointment and what the doctor said. Having company over for dinner and I need to start prepping. Making a new recipe, Pork Fried Rice, from Melissa's web site. Billy's been wanting corn bread and I'll have to try her remake recipe for that but not for tonight.

Billy had asked me a few days ago if you mentioned watching the DVD. He read the e-mail from you again before leaving for the eye doctor. He had a terrible morning with Walgreen's getting his prescription filled and he still needs to go back to pick up one that was not ready. He got over it pretty fast and his mood brightened by remembering all your kind words. Thanks for making his day better!

Dear Gail,
Loved talking to Billy tonight, we will catch up soon! I didn't even get a chance to ask how the meal turned out. Billy really is great at what he does with his videos and I told Pete what we were talking about. He approves. :thumbsup2

 I missed you too. I don't even know why I don't have time like before. I have not even been sewing either. :scared1:
But I have discovered this place called the library (you can get books for free :rotfl2:) and been reading too much. My kids keep telling me to put down the books.:rolleyes1
:cloud9: Sleep.... I remember what that used to be
Praying for you nephew. I remember how tiny my DD was when she was born. She was 4lbs 1oz and I remember the cats were bigger than her. Now she is one of the tallest girls in her 5th grade class.
I remember how elusive sleep was for you and how we used to chat early in the AM! I think that is when we became such good friends! A book...I never seem to have time to read what I want to, I DO love the library and books. NOT SEWING???? :faint" say not so!!! I miss looking at pics, I haven't been to the disbou boards in months, maybe I need to come over and get my fix. OR, you could post anything you have done this year, I bet I missed it. (PLEASE) :flower3:

Thank you for sharing about DD, I LOVE to hear beautiful stories like this!

How is your DH back? Is it completely healed?

No stress from you. I know how hard it can be to get feelings across when your typing words on a computer. :flower3: We did have a great day today!! It was colder than I was hoping (62 if I remember right and yes that's cold for us especially with the wind blowing. :rotfl:) The kids had a great time feeding the sheep. Sarah was a little scared so she'd only do it when I helped her which was fine (at least she was willing to do it). Then they enjoyed learning about pumpkins and then off course went and picked out their pumpkins. Here's Sarah with her's:

I got to go with Jeremy both last year and this year and had a great time also. Can't wait to be able to do it with James in the future and the new baby too. But that can wait. Don't want them growing up too fast!!

Well the inevitable did happen. After I got home today I realized I was more tired than I should have been. Got Jeremy from school at 2 pm, put Sarah and James down for their nap, helped Jeremy with homework and then I laid down on the couch while he watching a show. Woke up with a sore throat, stuffy nose and headache. So not happy that I'm now sick but thankfully I have nothing else going on this week expect getting kids to and from school which if I call the right people I can get them rides so I don't have to go out.

Glad that they are getting Lisa in so fast. Hope she's able to go back to ballet next week!! Love you and hope your week isn't too crazy!!

You are so right about typing tone/meanings/etc! Especially when I am sleepy. :rotfl2: I know you know me well enough to know my heart. LOVE the picture of Sarah, she looks so happy. :goodvibes You will have a plethora of great memories. Praying so hard that you feel better soon and that noone else gets ill. :goodvibes:goodvibes

:love::love: Love you too!

Praying today is full of only happy news. Thinking of you.
Thank you! :goodvibes

Why is the DIS moving so slowly for me??? :confused3

Thank you Alyson.

Praying for your Grandmother, you have had such a difficult year.:hug:
Sending prayers for your grandmother.
Thank you Kathy. :goodvibes
Judy, sending good thoughts for Lisa's MRI today.

I love the pumpkin carving pictures with the kids. I miss those days of carving pumpkins.

They did great; and can I please have a muffin?

David said he would send you an entire pan of muffins to go with your Starbucks! :thumbsup2

Rachel reminded us we didn't do pumpkins last year, a first for us (Dad was in ICU). It was good to have fun Sunday night, we really had few worries that day.

Love your pumpkin carving pictures. We are going to my parents to do this later. This is an annual tradition with my dad.
OOH , I hope you had fun and post pics, I need to look. :goodvibes I NEVER carved a pumpkin until Pete and I started dating, my family never did anything like that. I am glad you all have that to share with your Dad and I KNOW you had fun!

Praying that the MRI gives good and clear results.

Thank you Piper, I so appreciate your prayers.

First and foremost....good luck at the MRI!

Now, how 'bout those pumpkin carving and muffin making skills those kiddos of your's have! They did great jobs!

Thank you My friend.

They had so much fun Sunday night, lots of smiles, goofiness, dancing and giggles...love it. :goodvibes I loved how Christian and David let the girls try their vision. Poor Rachel got tired of cutting, the pumpkin was a LOT thicker than she thought.

Prayers for Tracy and Emile! Tracy, I hope the baby continues to get stronger and you get some rest.

Lisa's hat and wig are just fantastic :rotfl: The pumpkins came out great and those muffins look good too! Good luck at the MRI, I hope you get good news!

She has had that hat for about 7 years..she has it decorating her bedroom, sitting on top of a candy pumpkin pail. The muffins were yummy, I must admit. Thank you for your good wishes. :goodvibes

Judy - just wanted to say I am so excited for you and your new trip!

I haven't been around much - I am pulled between some very wonderful happenings and some very sad happenings...

First the awesome - dd is a finalist for a $140000.00 scholarship!!!! She has to commit by Nov 5 so we are frantically trying to make a trip to the school this weekend. She is a great kid and very deserving and there are 29 kids competing at this point for 10 spots (there were 16oo originally) The bad - we called I hospice for my dad and he won't be with us for long. My heart is breaking. Hard to have such conflicting emotions and prayers are requested.

I am keeping your Dad in prayer, I know you are pulled in many directions and that is so hard. I hope hospice brings comfort and peace to your family.:hug:

Congratulations to your daughter, I know how exciting this time is and I pray the school visit goes well and she is one of the fortunate winners. Please keep us posted! I love seeing hard work pay off!

Hope the mri gives the best results possible. Pumpkin carving night looks like lots of fun.

Oh Krystal... It was great to talk to you last night. :goodvibes:goodvibes

NOW,

Go update your PTR please!!!

Thank you, David. :surfweb::surfweb::surfweb:

Just for you Kathy....

Hope the mri gives the best results possible. Pumpkin carving night looks like lots of fun.
Thanks Tink. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes On all counts!!

I hope you had a blast at the MNSSHP...it was a lot better with free tickets I know! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

:love::love: Love you too!

Wait you mean being sleepy isn't a normal feeling? :rotfl2: I blame things on pregnancy now. :rotfl: She did have a great time!! I look at her now and can't believe she's already 5 and wonder where has the time gone. James and I are on the mend but we did reschedule a play date Jeremy was supposed to have tomorrow so I can get the rest I need. And I don't want his friend to get sick because it's her birthday this weekend.

Prayers for everyone who has asked!

Hi Judy! I think I'm caught up! Rachel has some great pumpkin carving skills! But Christian and Lisa made a great team! Ahhhh cinnamon streusel muffins! Yum!! You made it a veritable party with the DJ'ing.

Isaiah 41:9-11 - I know you live this by faith but thinking of you this evening.

That's great they are keeping you guys informed. That is the one thing that drove my sister in law crazy about my nephew. She'd ask questions and get the run around. She wasn't one to push for answers so if I happened to be there I'd push for her. Only way she got any info from what I was told later. Now I will say my nephew is a very happy, healthy 5 year old in Kindergarten!! So continued prayers that Emile grows and gets all that he needs!! He is a cutie and I'd love to just caress those cute little cheeks!!
Thank you for the prayers. That is terrible that they gave your sister in law the run around, but glad your nephew is now happy and healthy!
The nurses are all sweet and explain everything they are doing. We are making sure that we are there during the daily rounds, in the morning when the 'team' all come by and do a little huddle about progress. They are good at translating for us from the medical speak. I am very thankful!

Tracy, what a precious gift your nephew is. Who wouldn't want to see pictures of him? I know I could go back and look, but this is easier -- How many weeks did he make it in the womb before he was born? I'm so grateful that he made it long enough that the docs took care of him. I know someone who was five days short of the medical definition of miscarriage v premature, so when she delivered her little one, the hospital made refused to make any effort to sustain his life. (It happened when they were out of town, so they didn't even have their own doctor or hospital.) They took pictures and held him for several hours until he took his last breath. Heartbreaking. All that to say that I am so happy that your nephew, even though he is so tiny, is being lovingly cared for.
Hi Debbie, thank you! he was born at 28 weeks and 6 days.
I am so sorry to hear about the little one that the hospital refused to assist.

Tracy, I am praying for your nephew and his whole family. In 1967, when my daughter was born (weighing 2 lbs 6 oz,) they allowed me 1 phone call to the NICU per day at a specific time--miss it, too bad. I was allowed to look at her through the NICU window twice a week for 15 minutes maximum and allowed 1 visitor besides myself to view her. Things are so much better now!

I would have gone nuts, but a friend from high school was doing her pediatric residency in the NICU and she called me daily to give me more personal and less clinical updates. It was still very difficult.
Things sure have changed a lot! Touching is encouraged now, and Emile enjoys his cuddles. He has lots of visitors and His big brother has even come to visit him. I couldn't imagine the anxiousness of only having one call a day and twice a week viewings. Thank goodness for your friend.

Okay, Mrs. Thang, I can't keep up with you and Tracy! Ya'll are getting busy with the updates.
I don't know if we can keep it up for the next two months, but it's super fun so far!
Tracy, thanks for posting pictures of that sweet little nephew of your's. Continued prayers for him!
Thank you for your prayers!

hello just thought i'd let you know that in 1979 my sister was born at 25 weeks in the womb, she weighed 1.9 oz and dropped to 1.7 she spent 99 days in NICU and 3 days in the reg nursery and then came home.. at Age 2 she had eye surgury for a lazy eye and today she is a health happy 34 year old woman! sending your family positive thoughts and pixie dust! Michelle
Wow, what a great story! :goodvibes: Thank you for sharing and for keeping us in your thoughts!

Tracy, what a cutie Emile is.
Thank you, I think he is rather cute too.
Tracy your nephew definitely is a cutie, glad to hear that he is doing good so far.

Marilyn
Thank you :thumbsup2

Tracy, I love the latest picture of Emile. :goodvibes He is adorable.
He is a cutie, thanks!

Praying for you nephew. I remember how tiny my DD was when she was born. She was 4lbs 1oz and I remember the cats were bigger than her. Now she is one of the tallest girls in her 5th grade class.
I love hearing about little ones and how they grew up healthy!:thumbsup2
My other nephew and nieces were all around the 6 to 7 lb range, so Emile is tiny compared to them when they were born.

Prayers for Tracy and Emile! Tracy, I hope the baby continues to get stronger and you get some rest.
Thank you!

Congrats to your DD, sending her :goodvibes and pixiedust:
Sorry to hear about your father, praying for him, you and your family :hug

I am generally a lurker and I enjoy Judy's pre-trip/trip reports. I have been quietly reading since Lisa's Wish Trip.

I am posting today to ask for prayers for my mother. She has pneumonia and was just released from the hospital. I have never seen her this sick and weak. It is so scary to see her this way.

Thank you.
Welcome, glad you posted. I praying for your mother's recovery and sending :hugs to you!

Judy! Glad they got Lisa in for the MRI so quickly, hope there is good news on Friday!

Thanks for posting the photos of pumpkin carving! So much fun! Love all the finished products, including the muffins!

Emile update - he is doing well, there have been some ups and downs. He's had a busy couple of days with some different test - which are stressful for the little guy. But this evening they are trying him off of the CPAP :thumbsup2

So that means...cute baby face!

What a great picture of Emile. I'm so glad he is doing well and will continue to pray for him. Praying Lisa's leg gets better and she can get back to dancing. Judy, the pumpkin carving pictures are great. Glad everyone had such a good time. Just wanted to check in before we leave on Sunday. It's been a hard couple weeks for me as my 84 year old father fell off a ladder and dislocated his shoulder. He had surgery and then had to go back in after his follow up as his hemoglobin was 6.9. He is not one to go to the doctor for anything, but that will change now. His legs and feet are very swollen and he has an ulcer. I'm taking him back to the doctor on Friday and I'm hoping he is much improved so I can enjoy this trip. My sister is going to come down and take him to any appointments he needs while we are gone. Prayers would be appreciated for his recovery. So many on here seem to have parents with medical problems and I will continue to pray for them. My grandkids were over Saturday and couldn't believe I didn't even have my suitcases out yet. It's just hard to get excited when I'm so worried.

Disnorth, he is a doll. Bonnie was due on Nov. 25th and she came Aug. 31st. She does have very mild CP, but most people can't even tell. She probably wouldn't even have that if the doctor had been better. My water broke 3 days before I had her and my doctor had already been paid. He first asked me if I had "just peed on myself" then told me to just go home and wait because "this baby will die." Yeah, just what you want to hear.

My mother took me to her house and frantically tried to get another doctor to take the delivery. No one else would help. I stayed on her couch for three days until I absolutely couldn't hold back any longer. When I got to the hospital, the nurse there had to threaten the doctor to get him to come to the hospital and deliver her. I now wish I had used someone else or not paid him up front! I had my son in a Naval hospital and we didn't have insurance yet so I was worried about the money. I am pretty sure the doctor contributed to the difficulties she did have.

Babies are stronger than you think and God does take care of us in ways we can't understand. My daughter is a remarkable individual. She had visual problems because they didn't protect her eyes in the NICU--they didn't know they needed to back then. But she has a BA degree in drawing and painting. Her art is so remarkable that one of her professor included a number of her paintings in what was supposed to be his one man show. She volunteered at the San Francisco maritime museum to teach knot tying to blind and deaf students (she knows sign.) And she has a second degree in Early Childhood Education.

Never lose hope and know that Emile will be remarkable in his own way. I know from personal experience that birth weight and the challenges these little people experience only makes them stronger. BTW--Bonnie came home 4 weeks before they had predicted and I made her first clothes out of an eighteen inch baby doll pattern! She was 14 inches long when she was born.

Had my GI appt today, scheduled my colonoscopy. She felt a mass in my stomach (it has been there awhile, so I asked her about it). Having a CT and US tomorrow. Joy for the yummy contrast. :p:p Probably a hernia. Heading to the hematologist shortly. I have been on hold as they scheduled this and changed my update twice, as the scheduler changed locations...then times. :lmao::lmao::lmao: I have been writing this since 10:05...so if it is discombobulated, please forgive me.

Speaking of Dad's and prayers, yesterday my Dad had another nose bleed. They have been frequent with his chemo treatment and he typically has to get a blood transfusion following one. hHs oncologist sent him over to the ENT to have an area cauterized and stop the bleeding. His counts were good yesterday; however, they will recheck them today to ensure the nosebleed didn't cause them to drop.
Judy! Glad they got Lisa in for the MRI so quickly, hope there is good news on Friday!

Thanks for posting the photos of pumpkin carving! So much fun! Love all the finished products, including the muffins!

Thanks for the love on the pics, I have such great subjects. :) I am claiming great news for Friday! I would like that very much. :thumbsup2

Thank you for your good wishes.

Doctors can be our best allies, as well as our worst. Bonnie is fortunate to have you for her mama! :goodvibes:thumbsup2

Tracy,
My 2#2oz nephew is now a happy healthy 3 year old !!!

Judy, I'm so excited for your trip! I know you will have a wonderful time!

Keeping all in my thoughts and prayers!

So sorry I haven't read anything but this latest page, so I know I am not all caught up. Just wanted to say we are still thinking of you all and praying for Emile, Lisa, and the others in need. My folks are coming tomorrow for a weeklong visit, so I probably won't be on much during that time but we'll be thinking of you all.

Had Ezra's P/T conference and it was somewhat discouraging. Off the record, he is reading at a second grade level and doing math at a second semester first grade level, but he wouldn't cooperate for the official testing so they gave him all zeros for his report card. I truly believe he has some sensory issues going on that are contributing to his difficulty paying attention, and the teacher finally agreed to bring it up at their next meeting with the OT to see if she can get someone in to observe him. On a hunch, I bought him a compression shirt like athletes wear under their jerseys and have been putting it on under his uniform shirt the past week and a half. His behavior was super for 7 days in a row (unheard of up until now) and I really think the shirt had something to do with it. Ezra even got upset when I went to wash it and said, "But Mommy, I NEED that shirt! It helps me sit still!" I asked the teacher to tell me when the OT is coming to observe him so I can leave the shirt off that day!

Judy, love the pumpkin carving pics. Praying for good results from all the drs appointments. Thans for the subtle prodding. LOL! I do need it. I will try to update my PTR tonight.
