Once you stay deluxe, do you ever go back to Mod/Value?

I get to find out tomorrow. Going from WL concierge in Feb. to POFQ tomorrow. It should be fine - just cant wait to visit the mouse!!!

We've gone from deluxe to moderate and back again and it's been perfectly fine in all cases. We did try budget once and we missed too many amenities that we enjoy so that didn't work. At this point (with room cost in mind and an important factor), I'd just as soon stay at PORS as any deluxe except maybe AKL.

If I can't stay deluxe, including S/D but excluding DTD hotels, I'd rather stay off-site. For about the price of a moderate I can use PL and stay in a resort. For about the price of a value hotel I could stay in a 3* hotel. For about the price of a moderate I could use a consolidator and get my choice of a 3-4* hotel and probably get some type of suite hotel or condo.

Driving to the parks from those hotels doesn't take any longer than using Disney transportation.

We've stayed Deluxe several times and haven't been back to a Value nor a Moderate yet.

We usually spend part of the day in the parks, go back to the room to rest, go back out to a park and then back to the room. We spend a bit of time at the resort so the extras mean something to us.

The Deluxes are a much better experience, there is more to do, the pools are usually better, you enter the room from the inside and you have a balcony.

I wouldn't have a problem going back to a Moderate, but wouldn't want to go back to Value. Our experience with Value was that they were a little too loud, and the rooms a little too small.

All that said, I wouldn't pay rack rate for a Deluxe, it is too much money. But with a discount I would always wants to stay at a Deluxes.

Just don't stay at a DVC room, you get a full kitchen, multiple rooms, and hot tubs. That will spoil you. :)

We go back and forth between moderate and deluxe depending upon season and how many are going. DH and I cannot sleep in a double bed, we need at least a queen. If DS is with us then definately a deluxe if not we can go with a king at a moderate. When DH and I go at peak times we usually go for a moderate, value season we'll go for deluxe. We've tried the values twice and didn't care for them.
