Once Upon A Time

I wouldn't put Graham totally down for the count with the way they left it. I do think it's the same wolf, and that the wolf knows what's going on.
I agree that the wolf seems to know what is going on to some extent. He seems like he's trying to guide characters where they need to go.
Clearly Regina is the Miller's Daughter. Since her last name is Mill. It makes me wonder where the child Ruplestilskin wanted from her after she married the king went? That must be the secret she told Snow White.
Also makes me wonder who the parents of the Huntsman are since he said that he was brought up by wolves.
This is what I think too. I think he can freely go back and forth and he's the only one who really knows what the things in his shop mean.
I agree.
When I rewatched the episode, when Rumplestiltzskin cames out of the forest with his apron and shovel, it looks like he is stepping up out of someplace rather thn just out from between trees.

I'm sure that Dr. Whales is Gaston. The actor for Dr. Whales is David Anders.

http://www.google.com/search?q=davi...gwfBzPTiCA&sqi=2&ved=0CEsQsAQ&biw=768&bih=928

Google some pictures of him, then go back and watch the part of the last episode where the Huntsman is inside the tavern. (it's at around the 15 minute point)
There is a blond guy with a beard who has a sort of brown leather scarf and a red cape over one shoulder. He interacts with the Huntsman, making fun of him for crying when he kills an animal. The wolf growls at him, and the man says " you know what happens to pets that threaten me? I hang them on my wall!"
The huntsman stabs him with a knife on the side of the neck. He falls down, but it is not clear that he is dead. Looks like David Anders to me.

I realize that someone else is supposedly Gaston, but what if that guy is the Beast Instead?

Also makes me wonder who the parents of the Huntsman are since he said that he was brought up by wolves.

Good point. You have to wonder if Rumple took him and gave him to the wolves.

I would agree, especially since one of the cast members said on Twitter that we've already been introduced to Gaston but don't know it. EOnline says differently and Sage looks a lot more like Disney's Gaston than Dr. Whale does. Also, obviously names mean a lot and I don't know why they would give the name of "Dr Whale" to Gaston.

From EOnline:

We've confirmed that Psych's very own Sage Brocklebank (aka the hilarious Buzz McNab!) has landed the meaty role of Beauty and the Beast's Gaston on the ABC hit show.

Brocklebank will appear in episode 12, titled "Skin Deep," which puts a new twist on the classic tale (as old as time!). While other characters from the original will appear (including Belle's father and the Beast), the episode will also give fans something they've been salivating over: information about the mysterious and elusive Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle).

So, given that the title is "Skin Deep" and the word "skin" is actually in Rumplesliltskin's name...take from that what you will.

Yes, I saw the articles about Sage Brocklebank (now, that one sounds like a made up name). He certainly LOOKS more like you would expect Gaston to look, but he's good enough looking that I think people would remember if they saw him.
And "Dr. Whales" does show up in a tavern saying things you would expect Gaston to say and behaving like you would expect Gaston to behave (kind of a brutish bully).

Dr. Whales could be a sort of ironic name - someone who killed living things without any thought is named for a living thing and saves lives. If the names were all totally literal, there would be no mystery. And some, like the Sheriff/Huntsman, were not totally connected.

I agree. Dr Whale is a "player" and a womanizer as is Gaston. I can picture SW as one of the girls fawning over Gaston as Belle reads her book.

Now what about this Rumplestilskin and "Skin Deep" reference? Several sites seem to say that the Beauty and the Beast episode will tell Rumple's back story.

Somehow I can't picture Dr. Whale being Gaston! Dr. Whale is about as opposite from Gaston as you can get in appearance. He's a very tiny and scrawny guy... And the name? Why would Gaston have the last name of Whale? If anything, he's the sidekick of Gaston, lol.

I know some of you have tossed around the meaning of Emma Swan's name. I can't believe some of you Lost fans didn't catch the name. My dad, who is Lost-obsessed, told me recently that the name of the Hatch in Lost was Swan. I googled to verify and sure enough...

"The Swan, more commonly known as The Hatch by the survivors of Flight 815, .... "

All kinds of symbolism there if you think about it. :)

I rewatched the Hunstman episode and there were a few comments about the CGI deer and how "fake" it looked. I believe that was intentional. It looked "Pixarish". I think it is all part of Graham's character remembering.

I also don't believe Graham is dead. I think EQ just made sure he would never feel anything again - the heart she crushed was his emotional heart. If she can't have him - neither can Emma.

CGI deer: You know, you may be right. OR, maybe they wanted to make the deer look like an animated book drawing. Whenever they show Henry reading the storybook, there are drawings at the beginning of each chapter. Maybe they wanted the deer to look like one of those drawings came to life?

While I really hope you're correct that Graham isn't dead, I think Graham really IS dead. In fairy tale land, when EQ took Graham's heart, she said that he would never be able to feel anything ever again, and if he ever crossed her, all she'd have to do was crush his heart to kill him. Remember the last new episode? Graham told Emma he was tired of "not being able to feel anything". And when he kissed Emma, he was starting to feel. I took that to mean that since Emma arrived in Storybrooke, the curse was starting to weaken. Graham was dumb enough to tell EQ/Regina about his dream/remembering, so she decided to kill him.

I do not think Dr. Whale is Gaston. We'll see.

On his IMDb it says that Sage Brocklebank will be Gaston.

I am reading that we're going to find out soon enough.

If I had to pick, I'd say Dr. Whale is the Big Bad Wolf too by the way he looked at Ruby. Definitely a bad guy the way he called Regina when Prince Charming woke from his coma.

I love this show

Okay, haven't read through the posts, and just skipped over to last page, so this may be repeat. But, is it just me or do the people in the fairy tale world speak with modern slang? Saying words like "sure", and things like that do not seem to fit in with that theme. Maybe I'm nitpicking.

Alas, I believe they do.

Do you have a link for this?

I'll look for it. I'm not the most Twitter literate but I've been following the cast members who tweet during the episodes on Sundays. I think it was Jen Morrison who mentioned it while tweeting during the east coast showing last Sunday.

I'm scrolling back through the tweets from last week. Below are some that might be of interest.

@jenmorrisonlive how do you think emma will react when she realize Snow White is really her mother???
jenmorrisonlive Jennifer Morrison
@euge_21 I think she may actually be angry that she gave her up... and then her life was so rough. eventually it will be amazing though!

jenmorrisonlive Jennifer Morrison
we don't know yet when Emma will believe MM is her mother

I am fascinated to see how they eventually have Emma believe. no idea how that will happen and if she will ever end up in fairy tale land

@KatieRuth1 regina created the curse. She is the one that knows. SHe knows who she is. SHe is the one in control of the curse for now,,,

I'm still looking for the exact quote regarding Gaston. It might have been from Josh Dallas.

In the meantime, for your entertainment....

Originally said to be released on 12/27 but it looks like it is going to be released a week early and delivered before X-mas. I'll have to return the Grimms Fairy Tales book I bought at Costco. :cool1:

From Amazon

Brothers Grimm, Kevin Tong "Once Upon a Time: A Collection of Classic Fairy Tales"
Previous estimated arrival date: December 27, 2011
New estimated arrival date: December 22, 2011

I had it in my cart, but deleted it when it said it would not arrive until the 28th. And I have Prime. So no go for me! Plus it didn't have the cool pictures like Henry's book! ;)

I read an article saying that Sheriff Graham is definitely dead but we will probably see him again as the Hunstman. He was adorable and I was so hoping to see a relationship between he and Emma, sad to see his character go.

Does anyone know when the marathon is staring on the 1st? I am trying to catch DH and DS up on the show and they are totally lost trying to figure things out.

It starts at 4p for me here in MA. With a break for a hour at 6p to show the news.
