Once again Bush does his best to set us way back...

They are usually discarded.

I find it interesting that the groups that protest at abortion clinics give a pass to these fertility clinics. If life begins at conception as they believe fervently, then these embryos are every much a life as a fetus is. How come they are allowed to be thrown out with the trash without any moral outrage?

Because they don't need an abortion, but any of them might need help with fertility.

Many of of the folks protesting and calling this stem cell research unacceptable now will likely not turn down treatments or cures that resulted from the research in the future.

But the scientists plug along anyway knowing people may not support them during the process but they love the results.

Yes, much in the same way plenty of holier-than-thou men are staunchly anti-choice until their little something on the side winds up pregnant.

There are hypocrites on every side of an issue. If you think life starts at conception and you don't have a problem with them "discarding" the leftovers, then you are a hypocrite.

Usually they are not.

What if you had 12 leftover embryos and let us say that they were implanted another woman. I am sorry, but it would be more than freaky knowing that my child had up to 12 full brothers and sisters out there. I am impressed with a woman who is able to give up their leftovers to donate to another infertile couple. I know I could not do this.

Usually doesn't make it right.

I think that they should harvest the eggs, then fertilize 1 and them see if it takes. Repeat as needed. I don't like the fertilize a bunch and then see how many we need route, and there are probably others that think the same.

If you can't give them up for adoption then that is your choice, and I will not force you to do it, but I will encourage you too. I also don't think the government should be involved in that decision at all, not its job.

The only problem I have with Embryonic Stem Cell Research is that My money (taxes) are being used to destroy potenitial humans. That is my moral stance. If others don't agree with that, then they can fund private research. It is not my job, nor the governments job, to tell you how you spend your money. I will encourage you not too, but I will not force you not too.

I said the same thing and I was taken to task for it on the infertility thread.

I think eventually we all saw eye to eye, but I certainly hit a raw nerve.

I just cannot understand why the antiabortion folks aren't up in arms over the destroyed ferilized eggs.:confused3

They should be up in arms over it.
