I'm asking this for my sister in law who bought a Disney vacation package about a month ago. When she bought it she put a deposit on her Visa Rewards card and she let the CM know she had $950 of rewards points that she would want to put against her package next time she called in (she still had to transfer points at that time). The CM told her no problem.

When she called back to Disney to make another payment the other day the CM took her rewards gift card info and said it came back "declined" from chase. Chase is saying that she can now not use her points to pay for the vacation because it was supposed to be used at time of booking.

Has anyone else ran into this??? She is super stressed out and not sure what to do.... should she cancel her vacation package, although she does have air booked on it and penalties for changing it???? Thanks for your advice!!!!!

Tell her to call back and try again. The rewards dollars should be able to be used against the package costs, regardless of the timing of trying to apply it. Not sure why/how Chase would decline the use in this way, but I would have her call again.

I agree, I would have her call back again. I used my Disney points to pay for my vacation and didn't do it at the time of booking. I put down a deposit first, then got my points transferred onto a card and called back about 2 months later to pay for the remainder of the trip. I had no problems at all with this. Let her know to keep trying!!!! Hope it all works out for her. I would be really stressed out too.

I may be wrong, but I was not aware that the Disney Rewards card had anything to do with Chase Bank. Once the points are transferred from your Chase Disney Visa card to your Disney Rewards card, custody of the points belongs strickly with Disney.

I just made a payment online and Disney Reward dollars came up as an option for paying, so I would suggest having her make the payment online.

I did the exact same thing.
