On to healthy living......

Wilderness:

I'm so proud of you and your husband for standing up for your children and the children of others at the school. I'm sorry that your concerns are not being addressed.

I just finished a class with three teachers that teach at Catholic schools and send their children to Catholic schools. The one man, a history teacher, was so frustrated with the administration's lack of support that he is contemplating leaving the private school and going into teaching at the public school system - he lives in Atlanta. Atlanta public schools are truly scarey from what I've gathered.

All three teachers made comments that many Diocese (sp?) are not supporting education in both funding and time as a way to get away from providing education like they did in the past. The whole deal is that if the parents and students are unsatisfied with the schools then they pull their children out. Low volume at the schools is an excuse to close the schools outright. No more drain on the Diocese's resources.

Education is really exspensive. You already pay for public education whether you use it or not through your local and state taxes. You pay more for what should be a safer environment for your children to learn in. Catholic schools had a good reputation for a good mix of academic standards, morals and discipline. But the costs of education is going up, just like the cost of everything else.

I've mentioned before that I had to have a background check done to even go and observe classrooms during my program. I would ask if similar background checks have been done for all the teachers and anyone who has contact with the children at your school. It is required by law for all public schools. Why should it be any different in a private school. Usually at some point, someone with an abusive personality has had a run in with the law. One little run in would disqualify him from working with children, period. This might be another avenue to follow.

I'm also proud of you for working through your frustration with excercise - you imspire me.

Hi Wilderness,

I am sorry that you are going through this. I think contacting a lawyer to find out your options is a good idea. Perhaps just a letter from an attorney will cause things to speed up. I hope you have managed to get some rest and some down time. I worry.

Take care,
Beth

Hi Wilderness,

I'm glad work was ok. I hope you were able to get some rest after your shift. How was the gym?

I know I have a hard time making it to the gym between shifts. I'm doing M-F. I hope you figure out what works for you.

Take care,
Beth

What a GREAT idea, Wilderness!! I think sticking to a Mon - Fri workout plan is an excellent idea. Working out 5 days a week is awesome! Plus, by not planning workouts on Sat - Sun, you can remove that stress.

Keep up your pursuit against your school's policy. No one has the right to be abusive. Ever. You are doing the right thing!

Hi Wilderness,

I can only imagine the added stress with a trip before the holidays. I am watching you guys closely, and any hints on how to handle it will be used by me next year.

The bidggest reason I am still contingent is so I don't work Christmas. I'm sure you'll have everything set for a wonderful holiday.

Great job being OP for water and food. Try to get some "ME" time in there too.

Beth

Hi wilderness,

We are experiencing the pre-WDW rush too! So much to do and so little time to do it in. (Please note: I am not complaining about how close my vacation is at all.;) ) You are doing a great job getting things accomplished before your trip.::yes::

I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday! Take good care of you!

You are an amazing woman and I admire the way you are sticking up for your kids and all the other children at your school.

With that said, I'm glad you have a vacation coming up. I think some time away to de-stress will do you a world of good. It's amazing how carefree you can feel at Disney and I think that's just the kind of break you need.

Hang in there, Wilderness!! :sunny:

Wilderness:

I admire your effort - but WOW - Christmas shopping already? We did happen to get the Christmas shopping done for the kitties, but that was just a fluke...couldn't resist all the great toys at my Mom's vet last night.

I have to work holidays too. I'm supposed to be off for Thanksgiving and Christmas eve, but will have to work the rest of them. I wish that I could get another day off in lieu of working the holiday, but they'd rather pay us double time instead.

Where are the Dells?

:earseek: and :earseek:
2 hour workout AND Christmas shopping!! You are one powerful woman, Wilderness!! Rock on, Girlfriend! You are doing great!! (I haven't even started my Christmas shopping. )

Are you close to the Dells? My dh used to go there all the time as a child/teen. He said it wasn't a bad drive from Chicago. I haven't ever been but I hear about it all the time. It sounds like there are some really fun hotel/waterparks up there!

:wave2: Hi Wilderness,
I know just how you feel about squeezing in too much before Christmas. We went to Miami last year and arrived home less than 10 days before Christmas. It was just too rushed and I didn't enjoy the Christmas season enough. That's why our trip to Disney is scheduled earlier in December this year. Hopefully, we will still have time to get into the Christmas spirit ::yes:: .

I hope you a have a great day :sunny: !

Hi Wilderness,

You are doing an amazing job. I am so impressed with you getting all that shopping done and wrapped. You are one organized woman.

I would love to go to the Dells, but 2 vacations right before Christmas may be too much. I agree with you. Perhaps the week after. There is something to be said snuggling with DH at home with the Christmas tree lit. I like being home at the holidays.

I hope you have a great day.
Beth

I like to be home at the holidays too. We'll see......

I worked out this am. 4 miles on the glider between 2 different programs, weights and situps. I then made a frustrating attempt to return to Toys R Us. I have to go back there tonight before work. I am going to try and hit the gym again before work too. We'll see. Semi op for food. Doing ok for water. Have a good one.

Hi Wilderness,
I hope you were successful with your return. I hate making returns. I usually start a pile of bags with stuff to go back and let DH do it. He doesn't mind, so I figure better him than me! :teeth:
I admire your dedication to working out! You are working your tiny tail off! I need to get back to drinking all of my water. :drinking:

Wow Wilderness,

2 workouts in one day and work. You will be exhausted. At least you'll sleep well tonight. I hope yoiu have an easy shift.

Take care,
Beth
