On to healthy living......

Hi Wilderness,

I just wanted to pop in and wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. I know you are crazy busy, but everything will get done. You will have a phenomenal trip.

Take care and keep your sanity,
Beth

Thanks Beth. Happy Thanksgiving to you as well and to everyone else.:D

3 miles on the glider, ok with water and op for food. I have to work tonight. Figures since it is the night before the holiday and it is a blizzard out! Oh well, I need the $ so I can get more goodies from WDW.;)

 Hi Wilderness,
I hope you have a great Thanksgiving. Please drive safely in the snow.

 You have snow too! Please be careful!

I hope the snow makes for a slow night at work! Happy Thanksgiving!!

Happy Thanksgiving, wilderness!

Please be sure to take good care of yourself. We do NOT want that cold to turn into pneumonia. Prayers and :wizard: are headed your way.

In case I am not able to get back to your journal before you leave, have a safe, relaxing, and fun trip to WDW. Maybe, we'll see you there!:wave2:

Take care,
Tracy:wave2:

Oh Wilderness, sorry to hear about your grandmother - hopefully things turn around for the better! It's always tough to see a loved one like that, especially on the holidays.

Best of luck -:grouphug: :grouphug:

Wilderness,

Wishing you and yours a happy Thanksgiving today. Prayers for healing to your grandmother. Let us know how she is doing.

Take care of yourself...I hate it when I get a sore throat, I know a cold could be coming...I started taking those "Cold-eze" zinc lozenges when I feel like I'm getting a cold and the last time it seemed to help. How's your asthma doing? You are right about not taking Albuterol too frequently so you don't develop a tolerance to it by stimulating those beta receptors too much! Were you able to get a flu shot? Our hospital is getting a very limited supply but only ER and critical care personnel will be able to receive it...probably a good idea, since they get exposed to everything! They probably figure we in the OR wear masks most of the time, so we won't spread stuff to the patients...hopefully!

I wanted to swing by and wish you guys a great Disney trip! Enjoy the warmer weather...one of my nurse friends just got back and said it was 75-80 every day!:sunny:

 Wilderness,

I am sorry to hear about your Grandmother and that you are sick. I hope they are able to determine and fix the problem during the cath tomorrow. I am sending you major :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: for all involved.

Get tons of rest today.
Beth

Hi Wilderness,
This is my first post on the "new" boards...like you said it'll take a while to figure out all the new features...hmmm.

Sounds like they did a two vessel balloon angioplasty on your grandmother. I'm assuming by the statement that she was close to having a major MI that at least one of the blockages was in a very proximal portion of her left anterior descending artery (LAD), the one that feeds blood to most of the left ventricle. If that amount of heart muscle is deprived of oxygen and dies, it can lead to major heart failure because there isn't enough muscle functioning to pump the blood around, or even sudden death if it knocks out enough of the heart's conduction system ( i.e. v-fib ) So it sounds like her symptoms were a true warning sign...she might have clotted off a smaller accessory vessel, thus they told you she had a small heart attack, or she may have temporarily clotted off a vessel that later opened up on its own, but the blood enzymes indicated a small amount of muscle damage. Either way, she's where she needs to be right now.

Hope you get some antibiotics for your sinuses before your trip. I would definitely forget about working out...just figure you'll have plenty of time for long walks at Disney. Pre-trip stress and everything else that's going on (such as nasty e-mails) just set you up for lowered immunity...and then getting sick. Just do the absolutely necessary things, everything else will still be there when you get back!

Take care,
Jean

wilderness,

 for you. I am so sorry that you are not feeling well right now. Please be sure to take it easy and rest so that you can start feeling better as soon as possible.

How is your grandma doing? We are sending prayers for her and your family, too. :grouphug:

As for your friend, I am not sure why she would send something to you that she knew would upset you. I think it's good that you let her know how you feel about it. Maybe she meant for it to be an informative e-mail. I'm not sure. I do hope that you can get this worked out with her.

Have a relaxing Sunday, wilderness. Take good care of you!

Wilderness:

I'm so sorry that your grandmother is having health difficulties. It does sound like there is a treatment plan - I just hope that it is not too invasive. Such a balance between quality of life and intervention...especially around the holidays and all the stress associated with both.

That trip to WDW is just what you need - hopefully some sunshine and warmth to help you get over the crud. Something to help your family relax and get into the holiday spirit. Please have a wonderful time!

Politics and religion - I'm so tired of someone trying to "convert" me to their way of thinking or believing. I'm very strong in my own personal beliefs but would never try to strong-arm anyone over to my way of thinking or believing.

Thank you so much for the supportive post in my journal. I have to have faith in my DH's abilities even if no one else does. Here is hoping that there are better times ahead, for all of us.

-Laurie:sunny:

Please give my best to Mickey & company!
