P.S. How did your meeting go?

Oh dear! Wilderness, I hope you aren't getting sick! Take care of yourself and your son. Feeling icky stinks.

Good luck at your meeting! I hope the 'powers that be' hear your very valid concerns and take some action. Maybe you are supposed to be at this school to lead them away from Napolean. God can certainly work in strange ways.

Sending :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: your way!!!!

Hi Wilderness,
I will say a prayer that your meeting goes well. Get lots of rest tonight. Take care of yourself. I will look for your post tomorrow.

Wilderness:

I use the same kind of inhaler you do for your asthma. I avoid it if at all possible - it gives me the shakes and tremors for at least a half an hour after using it. Cigarette smoke is also my worst trigger - still my father-in-law will not stop smoking around me when we head over to his home...I dread the holidays. I've tried to get my doctor to put me on "Singulair" sp? because it is suppose to control both allergies and asthma. So far he is unconvinced about its potential. But at times, especially during the fall and spring, I'm willing to try anything.

Wishing you luck for your meeting - keep your cool head - not the one that behaves like a mother tiger who's young is threatened (I know that they are, OK). You are so right, that man has to go!

-Laurie

Please feel better soon - all of you!

Hope your meeting with the priest went well. I hope you are feeling better too. I suppose if you have to get sick, better now than at Disney, get it over with.

Our hospital still has no flu shots for us...I always take it since I got the flu about 5 yrs. ago and was out for an entire week!
I'm glad you got yours, especially with your asthma. I hate the cold weather too- it is worse the older I get.

Take it easy on yourself tonight and get better!
Jean

How sad and frustrating for you. Unfortunately, not a surprise to anyone that has grown up with the Catholic church. Hard for them to face their own faults...

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Wilderness.:grouphug: You WILL get through this!

Oh wilderness,

I am so sorry that you and your family are going through this.:grouphug: Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

 Wilderness,

I am so sorry that you are going through this. That meeting sounded so frustrating. The anger is justified. I have a hard time with priest's giving advice on marriage and child raising. (Flame proof suit on) It sounds like he just isn't taking you seriously at all. I'm sorry. I know you were hoping for more. Have you contacted the archdiosese? I would, and tell them you are exploring your options. You have gone up the ladder of command at the parish, now go further. In the meantime, keep exploring your options for other schools.

I am so proud of you for working out your frustrations with exercise. You are doing a great job. Just try to get some rest, even if you have to drug yourself. I'm a mom, I worry.

,

I've been reading your journel.
I have to share some thoughts with you after reading your postings on asthma and Catholic school.
First on the asthma. I was on Arbutrol for 20 years. I would never go anywhere without the inhaler. Then I got a new Doctor, a young woman who is very sharp. She put me on Advair. Within a week I no longer needed the Arbutrol inhaler. I could breath. I could go for long walks without any wheezing. I've since been switched to Singular. I think this in an attempt to get me off of inhalers. And it is working. I no longer need any inhaler. I would say that if you are having problems, try some of the new drugs out there. They work.

I have an 8 year old in Catholic school. He has a Nun for a teacher who should have stopped teaching about 20 years ago. The priest who runs the school really wants nothing to do with the school. It's not just this school, many Catholic schools are the same way. Just remember that these people never had children. So they really do not know what's best. You as the parent have to get your point across to them.
Remember, Catholic schools do tend to "get involved" in areas that are off limits to public schools. Discipline is a big pryority to them. However, Catholic schools are big on Volunteers. It my oppinion, that attracts to many weirdos. Be careful of this.
And if you don't get satisfaction from the Priest, write a letter to the Bishop, and copy the priest on the letter.
I don't know if you went to Catholic school or not, but in my day the nuns and priest would just hit or pull the hair of a child who was acting up. They also were big on humiliating children. At least they no longer are abusive, but there are still many improvements that need to be made.

I am hoping to make it to the gym later on this afternoon. I am retaining fluids dt stress and feel less than stellar. Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

 Wilderness,
Hang in there. I'm glad to hear that you are retaining a lawyer. I would consider calling the police next time there is an abusive incident.

Take care  .

Thanks Val.

I never made it to the gym. Too busy of a day. I will make it today. OK yesterday for food and water.
