"On this Day in Disney History" April 2020 Exercise Challenge

Thank you all for your kind words. It sucks we can‘t even have a funeral but he is being burried near my Mom, 3 plots away, so I’ll be able to stop by there this weekend and say a few prayers with my husband and my 2 kids.

I didn‘t do much today, but I did manage to get some yoga in and did some yard work just to be out in the sun.

We have several color changes to celebrate! Congrats to BonnieF for turning Bravo Blue and to princessfionasmom, bwvBound, and our TEAM for turning Outstanding Orange! Way to go!!! :rainbow::rainbow::rainbow::rainbow::rainbow:

On this day - this very day - in Disney history - April 7, 2020:

To mark World Health Day, Disney parks and resorts across the globe offered messages of appreciation for medical workers fighting the Covid-19 pandemic. I might have had a goosebump or two and perhaps a glistening eye while watching this video:

And here's an article with more info:

@BonnieF Check out you tube for some exercises to help with the dizziness. A lot of time it is caused by crystals is our inner ears that move out of there normal space. The exercises help move them back to where they need to be. My sister gets vertigo and this is what she does. She says it really helps.
I have dizziness attributed to the ear crystals, it's bizarre, but the maneuvers really do help.

I have 80 minutes to add from yesterday and today, 40 minutes each.

Challenging weather all day and night. Woke to more snow on the immediately nearby mountain peaks. Pouring cold rain most of Tuesday with high winds in the evening. These late winter-like storms have been very unusual for this area and are bit hard on my older off-track fellow. We are always thankful for rain ... but receiving so much rain has required some adjustment and lots of extra work.

@BonnieF, glad to read your dizzy spell was short lived!

I will probably not crunch numbers until tomorrow since today has been busy and I'm wiped out, but I want to get our history lesson in before midnight.

On this day in Disney history - April 8, 2008:

Thousands of Disneyland park guests gather around King Arthur's Carousel to watch Disney's top brass dedicate a special carousel horse to legendary performer Julie Andrews. "Jingles," the lead carousel horse, commemorates Andrews' service as the theme park's ambassador during its 50th anniversary, as well as her contributions to the company over the past 44 years (Andrews played the lead role in Disney's feature film Mary Poppins). Jingles features a hand-painted, colorful jewel-tone palette including embellishments of gold-leaf horseshoes. A miniature, one-of-kind replica of Jingles is also presented to Andrews on this day.

Here is Marty Sklar, Jingles, and Julie Andrews:

And a short video clip:

it has been a bit crazy here. DS's birthday was on Tuesday and yesterday at lunch we got some last minute stuff for an Easter dinner. Found out to day that half of the stuff I ordered for the kids baskets won't be here until after Easter. Thankfully my kids are old enough that they don't believe in the Easter Bunny anymore and they understand that things will be different this year.

Also on Tuesday night we got some really bad storms that came though around 11:30 pm. I don't like storms so I was up most of the night. I was worried about my mom as the news was talking about a possible tornado over my moms house. About 20 minutes south from me. She was fine. No damage either but my aunt that lives only a minute or to from her has trees down all around her but no damage other then a shutter fell off. Yesterday they did confirm 3 tornado's in the area. Including one by my moms. It all came very quickly. They were say that there was only a very small chance of a tornado and then all at once one popped up. There was like no warning either. Yesterday was a nice day and now today we have rain and then it snowed so far this morning.

Lifted weights!
That is, I went to the feed store to purchase 80lb bags of pelleted horse feed. Lifted the 80lb sack from the pallet to my shopping cart; lifted the bag from my shopping cart to my car; lifted and carried the bag from my car to my feed room. Also filled my 5-gallon water bottles while I was out and about. Lifted and carried those, also, between vendor > car > house. Whee! Feeling strong!

C-19 humor: The feed store is in the next county where covering one's face is now mandatory. Given the area, bandanas are acceptable. Turns out horsemen were ready for 2020 back in the 1800s! Still felt funny entering a store wearing a bandana over my face "bandit-style." LOL ... I wasn't alone, of course. Can't wait to visit my bank?!?

@Twilight Sparkle , Love the back story on Carousel Horses! Especially Disneyland horses! I have a lanyard filled exclusively with Disney Carousel Horses ... but that wouldn't surprise anyone on this thread, right? 🤠

@piglet1979 , hope you and yours are well with the storms! I understand the uneasy feeling and sleep interruption. Last night I was alone with storms and late-night earthquakes. I didn't dare PJs until 1a ... and I'm a morning bird. YAWN.
Today brings cold rain and more snow on the peaks. The Good Lord gave me 20 minutes of sunshine while doing the morning horse chores which was especially appreciated by my fellow who is truly "over" this wet-season-blanketing routine. Those 20 minutes must have felt great on his skin!
