On the way home last night I was thinking

that in 3 years I will be sending DD off to college!

So I texted that to her. Here is our convo:

Me: Can you believe that in 3 years you will be going to college!?!?!?!

DD: I know. It's great, right?

Me: No

DD: Why not?

Me: I will miss you.

DD: Its three years. Long way.

Me: I know but time is flying. Just yesterday you were my little princess.

DD: I still am. I'm just bigger.


I'm not a mushy or sentimental person but that made me tear up.

DD10 says "I don't know yet Mom, but I hear Davis has a good vet program" LOL We tell her she can live at home if she goes to college full time, Davis is about 20-30 min. from us.

Awww, I know just what you mean. My nest is emptying and I'm having a little bit a trouble dealing with it. We got DS23 launched. His sister, DD17, is senior in HS and swears she's going to college straight after HS. And DS15(Christian), well, he's probably going to be leaving sooner than later, too. It's really hard for me to acknowledge that a huge part of my life is closing down. That I'm not needed the way I once was. But just the fact that they actually *want* to leave the nest makes me know we did our job right.
