On the couch or in the bed?

I'll have to be the dissenter here....
Of course, the solution would be different for different people... but, if I am planning it and I am paying for it, then I would get the bed.

Personally, I would be hard pressed to agree to travel without adequate accomodations... And I certainly would never accept free accomodations and then actually take the bed while the ones who were paying had to take the couch. (but, we have seen enough threads about people with 'entitlement' issues.)

Me too! :thumbsup2
I probably would mention to them something along the lines of 'we're getting a 1 bedroom with a sofa bed, and you're welcome to stay with us, unless you'd rather get a room of your own'...

Depends on health issues...... my dh has 2 bulging discs and I need a hip replacement, there is no way we could sleep on a sofa bed..... my mil on the other hand plays on a tennis team and kicks butt! LOL My fil gets up early and would want the run of the place.......

Who's the early riser? If they like to sleep late you might appreciate them being in the bedroom so you can start your day without disturbing them.

That's what we're doing for our upcoming trip. DH and I will have the bedroom, with our son, and my parents will have the couch. My Dad is up at the crack of dawn, and needs to head out as soon as he gets up for a cigarette. It will work better for all of us if he's in the living roon so he doesn't have to walk past us while the rest of us are still sleeping.

Normally I would say the parents get the bed. But if we all get up at 4:30 every morning on vacation, there are going to be a lot of cranky people!!!!

also decided by weight. heheheee

or switch every two nights.

you sure you can't spring for 2 studios?

I already tried and there are not 2 studios available. We're booked for Jambo and I happened to discover that 1 bedrooms in Jambo only have 1 bathroom. I must have looked at the floor plan for Kidani and assumed all the 1 bedrooms have 2 bathrooms. Once I found out about the bathroom situation I tried to switch to 2 studios. And 2 studios would cost me more points. We have a vacation planned with my family next year and I'll have just enough points for that if I don't spend anymore points. Which bothered DH a little since he wants to go for our anniversary in May. I told him the only way we were going is if we slum it at a value.

your idea of a slum is very offensive to anyone who has had to struggle to provide a safe home for their family to live in.
