On the bright side (of quarantine)

Getting things done around the house. I'm off and usually work two jobs, so I've done more in the last week and a half than I'd have done the rest of the year. Painted the basement (including laundry room and trim in the bathroom). painted garage wall, installed new dining room and bathroom light, new bathroom vanity, spring cleaning (windows, moving things and cleaning under them, ran the carpet cleaner), spread grass seed and put in new mulch, as well as cleaning up the decorative rock/bricks outside. Going to paint the master bedroom next, then maybe install new interior doors. Need to stop spending money though since I'm off.

Watching shows I've wanted to for a while/sleeping in. These kind of go hand in hand. Been sleeping in a few hours and work around the house for 5/6 hours a day. Then after dinner I start watching streaming/cable shows I've wanted to see. I can stay up later since I don't have to get up at 530.

I try to focus on the good things, because the uncertainty about the next few months (mostly financially) can really get to me.
Wow you've been busy! I need some of that energy!

1. No underwear at all...except a bra when I walk on the beach.
2. Yoga pants when I have to leave the house on that rare occasion...like when I walk on the beach.
3. I do my hair and makeup and wear a nice top and cardigan, but I get to wear pajama bottoms when I film my read alouds for my classroom YouTube channel.
4. I had 10 very challenging (violent) students this year and some terrible parents (DCF referrals) that I will never have to see again.
5. I'm sleeping 9 hours every night instead of 6-7 a night.
6. My house will eventually be more organized and cleaner...working from home doesn't give me enough time to myself to go all out, but not having anything to do on the weekends will give me more time to devote to cleaning.
7. I appreciate the smallest things that I took for granted my entire life.
8. I'm seeing people's true character...those that I thought were awesome have turned out to be selfish and cruel, and those that I didn't think were that great have risen to the occasion and turned out to be pretty self-less and awesome humans.

Other then I have no idea when we will be able to travel again, the home quarantine is amazing. Granted we are not in actual quarantine, I am more meaning we stay home, no interaction with people coming to our house or go to others and just leave once a week to get groceries. We are pretty much homebodies though so we are taking this isolation thing pretty good.
So these are the positives I've seen in our home (just DH & I):
1. I'm working my regular number of hours each week from home. I feel like I accomplish so much more at home then at work.
2. Better workout routine. In a nice routine where I do some work when I first wake up then go workout (at home) then back to work. Versus coming home from work and having to do it.
3. Don't have to deal with all the unnecessary small talk in the office when people would just walk into my office.
4. Saving so much money. Not only gas as no place to go but also I have no desire to shop online.
5. I've been reading more, which I have always enjoyed but just never set aside time for it.
6. I didn't eat the best lunches at work. And, on the weekends we'd never eat lunch but eat dinner early like 4pm (usually 6:30p on weeknights). I've started making us lunch, nothing elaborate just canned soup, mac & cheese or leftovers and we eat at normal dinner time now each night. Feel better by doing this. I was always starving when I'd get home from work before dinner. So now this might be our new routine even once we go back to work to eat lunch on the weekends and actually eat decent lunch at work.
7. Maintaining weight. I thought I'd gain a lot as not being as active and eating more food but nope.
8. Wearing yoga pants and t-shirts each day.
