On-site deals: PIN vs. current specials?

I just got a PIN for Disneyland resorts for 30% off for the dates we are planning to go to DLR (in October). We are currently booked at HoJo but I thought it might be fun to stay onsite if the price is right. When I was checked online at Disney's site, I see that they are already running a 30% off deal for my dates. I assume that means I can't use the PIN number on top of the current special, right? Is there any advantage or difference in booking with a PIN vs. a current special? How does booking with Costco compare?

Thanks for any help or feedback :goodvibes

You can not combine these offers.

Usually PINs are just targeted marketing that come out before the general public offers.

Costco sometimes offers extras, but costs the same.

I don't believe you can combine the pin with anything else. If the PIN code is for 30% off, then you are right--it is exactly the same savings as the fall sale that was just released. I personally would stay on property if you can--it is really worth it--especially if you get a good room (like a Paradise Pier theme park view room, or a room at the GC).

Wow; exactly 30%? I got a PIN code a few days ago for 35% off through most of November. It had some blockout dates, while the online deal is good all November but has different rates for higher-demand periods. But hey, by using the 35% deal instead of 30%, we saved enough over 2 days for...er...a counter-service meal each. But hey, that's something. AND the code made me feel special. :flower3:

I think the public deal is 30% for the Paradise Pier and 25% for the other 2 on-site hotels. So if you were looking at the Disneyland Hotel or GCH, then your PIN could still be the way to go.

Otherwise, I believe if you use the PIN code, you have to talk to a person, while I think you can book the general 30% deal online. If your PIN code is exactly the same price as the 30% off rate, then the only advantage I can possibly think of for using the PIN is that you can give your travel agent the PIN code...the agent should know about the 30% deal anyway, but might be harder for them to miss the deal?

Well, that and feeling special that Disney sent you a code. :flower3:

Have a great trip! (On-site all 4 days was too rich for my blood, even with the specials, plus two of our days were blocked out on the 35%. So we're doing a split stay, 2 days in off-property and then 2 days on.)

I also got that PIN offer (YAY!) and called to see if it was the same rates as what I booked under the Fall 30% offer. I'm staying at Paradise Pier and with the PIN I saved an extra $30 over the regular Fall promo. The CM I got, Israel, was even able to adjust my current reservation instead of making me book a whole new one.

Give them a call, it never hurts to ask!

I agree with it never hurts to ask. My first trip to Disneyland three years ago, I received a pin code for either 30 or 35% off (don't remember which). I stayed with a friend who is a local. They asked me about park hoppers and I told them only I needed one because my friend had an AP. They applied her AP discount as well and we stayed at the Paradise Pier for little of nothing.
