?? on Sirius xm Radio

Pandora or MOG. You'll never want to use satellite again.

The downside to Pandora is you need a live internet connection, which means you need internet access at home or data on on your smartphone.

The cell phone companies have wised-up that Pandora usage is one of the chief culprits of "excessive data usage" and as a result, have put "caps" on how much data can be used each billing cycle, which can throw a smartphone into a state of disarray.

Sat Radio, OTOH, is a flat fee, and can be accessed through 99% of the U.S. (and a big chunk of Canada, too).

Ours is $50 / 6 months for 2 cars (2 accounts). My DH has to call every 6 mos and play their stupid game of "okay, you can turn it off then" and they say, "okay, we'll go ahead and do the same offer again". This has been going on for 3 years now. :surfweb: I made him handle it all though, since he's the one that loves it.

I have Sirius XM and received a bill today for $175.42. I called and told them that I could not afford that amount and that I had to have a better offer, or I would cancel. The woman I spoke to said that my radio did not qualify for any promotional rates (unlike last year). I told her that I wanted to cancel. She said she would transfer me to someone who would cancel my service. I told the next fellow what had transpired and he said he would check with his manager. Voila! He offered me $86 for a year - same deal as last year. I agreed and put the fee on my credit card. He asked me if I wanted to keep that credit card on file and I said "No". I authorized a one time charge to my credit card.

What a game it is. :confused3

I think we got a year for $50. I had to play the game of threatening to cancel, then they offered a lower deal, I said it still wasn't low enough a couple of times and they finally gave me this one.

I just bought a used car that has xm in it, since I've never had an account do you think its possible to get a deal if I call

Thank you all for letting me know what kind of deals are out there for Sirius radio. I did call and talked to them and told him it was too expensive for the amount of time I spend in my car and he offered me 1/2 price of my original amount which was $89 plus fees. I told him that still was too high and I wanted to go ahead and cancel. At this point I thought he'd send me to another department but he didn't and started to cancel my subscription(which I was ok with if I didn't get a better price)as he was doing this he said "oh wait a minute another offer has come up on my screen, its $25 for 5 months" not sure why 5 months not 6 except I was into a month of the expensive contract so who knows but I did take that deal and so now I'm ok until Sept when I have to decide if I want to go ahead and keep it and see what price I'm offered at that point.

thanks again

I did the $25 for 6 months deal last Fall. A day before that deal ended, I called to cancel and told the rep that I don't use it enough to jusitfy paying $150+ per year so she offered me $25 for 5 months. I asked about 6 months and was told that they aren't giving that offer right now so I took the $25 for 5 offer.

Before she added that offer to my plan, she said, "I can also offer you $89 for 1 year. Would you like that offer instead?" Um...let me think about that, you want me to pay $89 for 1 year when I just got 11 months for $50? No thanks!

I have been getting the $25 for six months deal my last two renewals. The last time they had my credit card on file they auto-charged my account for $179, but I cancelled and got my money refunded. Now they don't have the number because I got a new card. However, to rectify giving them any cc information, I just go to Best Buy and get the Sirius XM giftcards.:thumbsup2 If I don't get a good renewal price this time, I will just cancel it.

I brought a used car in January and I called to inquire about the cost and eventually they offered me $25 for 6 months. I didn't take it because I hadn't cleared the cost with the hubby but just last month they mailed me a letter offering me a 3 month free trial. Score!! lol

I know it's going to end soon but I'm hoping that they will offer me the $25 for 6 months again and that my hubby will say yes I can get it :)

I just called a few weeks ago and was so close to cancelling! I told the lady I didn't want to spend an hour on the phone with them so please just give me the 6 months for $25. She was like we don't have that but we have a year for $139. Then the year went down to $89. Then I told her I was going to cancel and shes like ok I'll cancel it now. I went on a whole rant about how I've been a customer for 4 years and its so sad I have to cancel. THEN shes like oh wait I can do 5 months for $25. This is 45 minutes later. Ugh. I always dread having to call them. I wish I would have bought the lifetime subscription when it was $500.

Good luck!!
