We have Sirius and its our renewal time and I'm thinking after seeing what people paid last year and what I paid then I'm paying way too much. So if you have Sirius would you be will to tell me what you are paying at this time? They are wanting to charge us $159.39 for a year, which I think is way too much..

thanks

***Update on Post #67

That's WAY too much. Our last renewal we threatened to cancel and even went as far as having us transferred to the cancellation department. Once there the agent on the phone offered us 6 months for under $30 plus taxes. We took it and are about a month away from renewal again. I'm sure I'll be getting a letter in the mail soon about it. I also removed us from automatic renewal so they either contact me by email, mail or phone to renew.

Ours ran out and I was paying $18.95 a month. I called them and told them that I wanted to cancel. I told them that I was just trying to cut back on my expenses. They offered a cheaper rate but, I still did not want to spend that much. The final offer they gave me was 6 months for $25. After the 6 months, it will go back up to the normal rate. I have until June to decide but, I will more than likely not re-up. I would give them a call and see what they have to offer!!

We did the same as the previous posters and got a rate of $30 for 6 months. Call and tell them you need to cancel your service. They will give you an offer and it probably won't be their best offer. Ask to speak to the cancelation dept. and they will monst likely offer you a better deal. Even if they don't, they will be sending you offers in the mail within 3-6 months. Remember not to give them your cc so they don't auto renew at a more expensive rate.

I had the 6 months for $25 deal and when it came to renew, I said I'd just cancel. They offered $6.99 a month for 6 months. It's a little bit more, but still within the amount I'm willing to pay.

Same as the PPs - we pay about $5 per month after threatening to cancel. I really hate the Sirius marketing model, enough to cancel even at $5 per month. It is like buying a car every six months - it is hard to know if you are getting a good deal, and everything is negotiable. If you cancel, they will send you letters several times a week and call you constantly to get you to renew. Agree with the others - do not EVER give them a credit card!

If you don't pay with a CC then how do you pay?

Just curious, we bought a used car and the owner had Sirius. It expires in May, but we are unsure about how to keep it since it's in the previous owners name. My husband likes it but not at a high price.

I tell them to send me a bill and then I go online and pay it with a CC and when it asks if I want to save the card to my account I click no. I just don't pay over the phone with a CC.

We did the 6 months/$25 deal. We called 3 days before our time was up to cancel and they offered the same deal again. So now we will go until July. We just arent' going to pay much more than this for the service.

I renewed mine on Saturday. It was $25/6 months, $27.06 with tax and fees! :thumbsup2 I have it in my calendar to call a couple days before it runs out again. I drive 2 hours a day through 4 counties, so Pandora loses its signal a couple time times each way and gets annoying. But, if they charge me more than that, I'll go back to Pandora and my Ipod.

Same here. Every renewal time I tell them to cancel. Each time they come back with a new offer. It's such a joke!:headache:

Pandora or MOG. You'll never want to use satellite again.

What is MOG? I'm thinking of cancelling our XM/Sirius also. We pay a ridiculous amount. OnStar did the same thing. I called to cancel and told them that we were trying to save on expenses and they cut the amount in half.

Thanks everyone I did make the mistake of paying over the phone and now I have to call and cancel. I can live with our without it but my husband is hooked and so I will have to work on him.

thanks for the info I wanted some info from you guys so i have something to work with when I call them

They send me a bill and I send them a check.

I recently screwed up and missed the date when my plan went from $25/5 months to $18/ month!

Called last night and when I told them I would cancel they brought back the $25 plan. They credited me the unused days of the $18 for the month I had already paid!

Maybe that can help.

We pay $5 plus tax for TWO cars. Just keep saying you want to cancel and they will lower the price.

I called a few weeks ago, they offered the $25/6 months, I said no, called back this week, and got the entire year for half price after threatening to cancel($85 something plus a bunch in taxes). More than I've paid the past few years, but I really wanted a whole year rate so I wouldn't have to deal with it in six months again...
