During my last trip, I realized I over did it and I needed to recalibrate (I have muscular dystrophy and that's severely impacted my hips). Since I have kids, Uber/Lyft isn't going to be a great option for me - so I'm deciding to rent a car for my next trip and since I'm staying on-site via DVC, standard parking is included all around. I may then opt for preferred, especially without the trams. For me, at least, having some semblance of control (whether it's "I can go to the car I have" or "I have gotten an Uber/Lyft and can see that they're 3 miles from here") feels a lot better than being in a ton of pain/not able to keep going and simply knowing that buses typically depart every 20 minutes (and then I sat and watched as it took 65 minutes for one to get to Epcot, going to AKL). I think that Uber/Lyft would take care of your needs and would be a good middle ground, especially without the trams. If you're still not feeling sure about them (and I do think you can navigate it after 1-2 times), I would keep the car/driving option and not rely solely on buses.
