On line check in ?

We are staying at POR in 27 days & havent done the on line check in yet. We have 2 rooms but I am the only one with the WDW account & MDE account. In my room there will by myself & my DH & SIL. The other room is an aunt & uncle. So I have to set up 3 different credit cards for room charging capabilities (which I'm so happy about cuz we didn't have that option last time SIL stayed with us & it was a pain figuring out who charged what!). So my question is do I/can I set up all 3 on line for the check in or just do it there at the front desk? I have a little more faith in doing it there but .... has anyone done multiple & has worked ok?

You will have to do it at POR. It can be done, but the CM has to know what they're doing. My suggestion is to go directly to the general store after they set it up for you and have everyone buy something small and use their Magic Band. Then go over to the Front Desk or Concierge and ask for a print out of the charges and make sure everything is okay. Once it's setup correctly, you're good to go. It is so much easier to get it sorted out right away. When we've done this, 4 out of 5 times it was done correctly right away. The time it wasn't it was a very simple fix because we caught it right away.

So should I do the on line check in anyway (just use our credit card & a generic pin) or not worry about any of it until we get there since we will have to go to the desk anyway?!?!
I plan on sending a room request type fax a few days before - can I do that if I don't do the on line check in?

You can if you want to. Just use the CC that you are going to use for room charges. Then just have to add the others at the resort. I like to do Online Check In even if we have to stop at the Front Desk just because it gives me something to do and just makes the trip seem closer!
