On a scale from 1-10 , how excited are you for Christmas?

same..1

As a healthcare worker this winter bas been the worst I can remember in a long time…way worse than the past 2 Covid years.

People are off the rails and its killing any attempt at the holiday spirit.

I am ready, but it feels like just another job to get through and survive at this point….

Hopefully I will find the spirit soon….

But in all sincerity, Best Wishes and Hapoy Holidays to all DIS board members!

This season has been a whirlwind of things to do, so I haven't really thought about it much. I think maybe a 5? When you get to be a grownup with grownup responsibilities and worries it's not the same feeling as when you were a kid. I'm happy to watch my little Godson open his gifts, and that's a joy. But a large part of me wishes I was still a child opening presents on Christmas morning and thinking only of what we received from Santa.

Disney trip is over.....
DS and his family won't be here for Christmas this year. That takes it down a lot since that is the 2 children. It will be DH, DD and me for Eve and going to her boyfriend's house for day. I would rather just stay home and relax

Right now, like zero. But....come Saturday, I'll be out of Covid quarantine, sitting with family at a Carolers Dinner, after that, it's game on. I'll shoot right up to a 10 because the lead-up has been so stinky in contrast.

Maybe a 2. I was around a 5 but hubby threw a monkey wrench in that.

My son, his SO and my 19 month old grand daughter were coming over Christmas Eve to open gifts. Then we have to leave on the 27th for a work trip for hubby. We take our RV and the dog and I get a little mini vacation (if you can call staying in a RV park and just taking long walks every day a vacation, we rarely get to go see the town we are in because he is working all the time). Anyway, hubby decides it would be nice to tack a trip to his parents house for Christmas Day on, which means we need to leave either Christmas Eve day or the day before since we would be pulling the RV and setting it up for just one night is a pain. So now I either have to ask my son and his family to come over the Thursday or Friday before Christmas or tell hubby just to go by himself and stay in his parents house and in a hotel at work. He hates staying in hotels and isn't even a fan of staying in his parents house. He could pull the RV by himself but the set up alone is a pain and I'm not sure how careful he would be driving without me there sort of watching things for him. To add to the issue, it might rain/slightly ice where he is working or on the way home. All this is in south Georgia, we live in north Georgia. So, I have to decide spend time with my grand baby or spend time with hubby's family. I like his family well enough and we get along, since we park the RV in their yard there is somewhere for me to escape but still - not my family. His parents both have health issues so I get him wanting to see them, oh well.

I guess a 4 or a 5. Christmas is for kids. My kids are 31 and 35, so past their Christmas peak. My Granddaughters are 9 months and 3 years, too young yet to understand Christmas. So Christmas will be low key. The whole economic and RSV/COVID/FLU situation doesn't help.

I am about a 3 this year. My DD11 is usually an ecstatic Christmas kid. But, sadly, she hasn't talked about it much and doesn't even care that I haven't wrapped anything. She is entering the terrible tween stage and my heart is so sad this year.

I don't usually get terribly excited for Christmas. We aren't religious so for us it's a cultural holiday and not anything significant- and there is a lot of expense and work associated with this holiday. I've been sick off and on all fall and now am laid up from a falling injury, meaning any plans we had for being "out and about" are on hold. However... DD29, SIL, and his 6yo are living with us this year. We were decorating the tree the other day (a chore I hate) when I looked at The Boy's shining eyes and thought, "We have a child for Christmas again" and got all choked up! We are back in the cycle of Santa and stockings, cookies and "don't forget carrots for the reindeer, Lee, they love 'em!" Turns out I'm a little excited after all!

Yup, 6 year old is just entering the prime Christmas years.

I was sitting at about a 6. I LOVE this time of year, but I've just been so busy that I hadn't fully gotten into the spirit yet. Then we went to Celebration in the Oaks tonight. It's a huge Christmas light display all throughout City Park (which is about twice the size of Central Park). Hadn't made it there the past couple of years, so it all felt fresh and new again. Now I'm at a solid 10. Excited like a little kid :)
