Omg

OMG, it's great to see my Sabres' on Dis. Miller got my #1 star tonite; #2 star goes to Biron [what a fight] #3 belongs to Stafford. Let's clean them out on Saturday.:cool1: :laundy:

i wonder who got the stars at the game, tonight? Miller had to have been #1 at least.

i love Biron, he's so not afraid to go out and hurt someone!

All I have to say to you guys is thanks a ton for the play-by-plays tonight! I couldn't be home for the game...I was so upset!

Sabres are gunna kick some serious butt on Saturday!

oh man you missed a great game!! oh yeah, we're gonna be great on Saturday, i'm not worried. course, i'm usually not worried with my team. we ARE the #1 team in the NHL at the moment....thank you very much! :beach:

We must have been watching different games...it was a clean hit on Drury, that's why they didn't call a penalty. He hit him with his shoulder, not his elbow.

Also Emery didn't hit Maxim Lapierre with his "brick hard blocker", he hit him with his stick,(although the blocker would have been better, then he wouldn't have gotten suspended!) while he (Emery) was lying on his stomach on the ice. Lapierre rushed the net. Emery was protecting his crease.

And in the interest of accuracy, Biron skated up to Emery's zone. He called him out. Too bad for him, Emery loves to fight. Did you see the look of delight on his face when he took off his mask? Then he took out Peters too!
Ok with the Emery and the blocker thing you might be right because I just listened to the commentators. On the Chris Neil hit it was close and it looked like an elbow to me and Chris drury didin't even have the puck. I don't understand how you can say that Biron went after Emery Emery dropped his gloves and was at the blue line smileing when Biron was on his own side of the ice. Next your gonna say that Schafers hit on Connoly in the playoffs last year was clean.

and your right we must of watched a different game

Well on the plays I was watching, Biron came out of his net and skated up to the Ottawa zone. Even the commentators said "Now here comes Biron". As you stated, Emery just came back off suspension, so he sure is heck wasn't going to initiate the goalie brawl, but he wasn't backing away when he was called out, either. Frankly, I was delighted. Emery is my favourite player (just seems like an ultra cool guy) and I've never seen the goalies fight before (except on youtube)

wow, we REALLY watched a different game, because the commentators say "and here comes Emery out of his zone" before Biron EVEN had his gloves off.

and you can CLEARLY see an elbow go up on that hit to Drury. if it was just a check with his shoulder, there's no way possible Drury would have gone down that hard on his head.

honestly.....i don't know why i bother trying to talk to Ottowa fans, anyway. jealousy is a terrible thing people......:sad2:

What you see is the elbow go up after the contact has already been made, Neil is on the other side of Drury when the elbow goes up. Everybody in the league has acknowledged it was a clean hit. Unneccesary since he had already shot the puck and Neil could have slowed up, but it was not an illegal check.

Okay, the back and forth between Buffalo fans and Ottawa fans is hilarious.

I'll admit that I am biased towards Ottawa since they are a good team and it's my hometown, I do acknowledge that Buffalo has surprised me this year. Hopefully, there is a playoff rematch between these two fine organizations.

However, I need to throw a little muck here. Neil's hit on Drury was completely clean. The elbow only rose after the contact and Drury was falling down. Neil's elbow DID NOT hit Drury. Having played a high level of hockey in my life, when players admire their shot or pass, they deserve anything they get. You may not like the hit but Neil would have done that to a Buffalo goon if the goon was admiring his shot. It's too bad it was Drury. This isn't Drury's first NHL game, he knows that'll happen and he'll probably never do it again.

And since the home team has the advantage of last change, Lindy decides to send out his goons against Spezza and Heatley. Yeah, that's not a cowardly act. Peters first tries to take Heatley's head off, then Spezza gets drawn into a fight he has no business being part of.

As per the Emery/Biron thing, it did look to me like Emery started it but I am not sure. Then after going toe to toe with an equal foe, Emery has to defend himself against Peters. I have been in a hockey fight or two and let me tell you, you're energy level is drained. Peters is a real hero for trying to take on a tired player who has double almost triple the equipment on.

LILIRISHCHICK63; I think you may need some anger management lessons. :rolleyes1 Referees don't deserve to get punched or beaten up for a missed call or an erroneous call. They are humans and the game would be out of control if they weren't there.

Anyhoo, flame away Buffalo fans. However, I have no predictions for Saturday's game. It will be a good one as it always is between these two teams.

P.S. Season record between Ottawa and Buffalo Ottawa 4wins, Buffalo 3 wins. Sounds like both teams are equally matched.

So I just got a tape of this game and I'm not quite sure if I'm going to give it back! I'm so damn proud to be a Buffalonian!

Now that I look at the video it was with the shoulder, however it was very late. When it matters Buffalo will beat Ottawa in the playoffs just like last year. Buffalo leads the NHL and leads Ottawa by 13 points.

Peters going after Heatly was no worse than Neil after drury but when he fought with Emery it was bad on both teams. Peters should never go after a goalie. The thing is what type of team is Ottawa to just watch peters take out Emery someone from Ottawa should of stopped the fight. Im the smallest kid on the ice but when someones fighting my goalie i jump right in to end it.

Bad news on Drury he had to get either 27 or 37 stiches and is having concussion synthoms. He is out indefinitly which probaly means the rest of the year.

excuse me!? you don't KNOW me. how on earth would you KNOW if i need anger management lessons!? people who needs those lessons really can't contain themsevles. if i REALLY needed something like that, i would have gone out on the ice and tried to hurt the ref. honestly.....like i'm the ONLY person in the free world who hasn't threatened a ref at some point? really, you should think before you open your mouth because you obviously don't know WHAT you're talking about.

it ISN'T a clean hit when he checks him AFTER the puck is gone. Drury didn't even have the puck, Neil just decided to go and hit him for no reason other than wanting to hit him.

well Peter's is just an idiot. i can't stand him, anyway. the only time i kinda like him is when he starts fights. i don't even like him WHILE he's fighting, because he doesn't even throw punches.

yeah i heard about Drury. poor guy. he might not be out the rest of the year, but i can see maybe up until play-offs. that's ok tho, bring in more of the Rochester kids!!! we're still winning!

wow, what an aggressive reply. You're right I don't know you but read your posts! Then you'll see why you would be interpreted that way. And by the way, the comment was made in jest (the reason for the whistling smilie:rolleyes1 ), but your reply just proves it.

At least I'm the only hockey fan out here agreeing with the valid points from both sides and not saying that only Ottawa was right in this thing and Buffalo was wrong. Both teams made some mistakes that turned this into what is was. Emery started the goalie fight. The Ottawa lads should have jumped in when Peters took on Emery and Neil's hit wasn't pretty but it was legal.

(Does anyone remember the Scott Stevens hit on Lindros when Lindros was admiring his pass or the Scott Stevens hit on that Russian kid from Detroit who was also admiring his shot...it's part of the game)

Lindy should not have made the cowardly act of sending Peters and Mair against Comrie, Spezza and Heatley.

To reference "the john", I made mention in my first post that Neil hit Drury because of the opportunity for the hit. Neil wasn't headhunting Drury. Neil would have hit any player who did what Drury did (admiring his shot). Peters and Mair specifically tried to injure and hurt Spezza and Heatley so I don't think it's the same thing.

And FYI, Mair went to the Senators dressing room and apologized for the events after the game. As a hockey player and fan, I appreciate that classy gesture.

Now on the news there saying for atleast a week so it could be shorter. what happens if they bring up so many players that rochestar doesn't have enough to play.

Oh and to kenney Joe i guese at the least half the nation should get anger help for yelling at a ref.

How can you say that your the only person who agreed to valid points. I was the one to say that peters was bad for atacking a goalie. Neil was head hunting. just like peter schafer was last year in the playoffs.

"the john"

You're right..my bad. You have acknowledged a couple of Buffalo errors. Sorry bout that!

Also though, don't misinterpret my comments about the ref thing. Yelling at a ref is one thing, but being so passionate about a missed or mistaken call to threaten bodily harm and tell someone else to beat up a ref is wrong.

Let's be fair here...yelling at a ref is okay. Threatening and perhaps following thru on that threat for a human being doing his job..not cool!

We have all seen the news stories of minor hockey parents going to far. It happens more often in the younger leagues since 1-it's usually the parents kids being "victims" of a bad call and 2-since NHL refs have better security. Number 2 is probably the biggest reason why we don't hear of NHL refs getting beaten up.

If if does happen though, probably won't be in Buffalo. I'm thinking Montreal:rolleyes1

**Ahem**

I owe the participants of this thread an apology. Emery did leave his crease and skate to the Buffalo zone. I read an article today in our local paper (they call him Sugar Ray, by the way, which I think is hilarious), and he said he thought Biron signalled him that he wanted to go. So, Emery went.

Sorry for my error. The camera angles made it seem to me at least, that Biron came to our zone.
