OMG We're going for F&W!! 11/11-11/15

DH found an AMAZING deal on flights tonight from Cali to FL for Food and Wine Festival 11/11-11/15! I can't believe we are going to WDW! We haven't done Food and Wine festival since our Disneymoon 5 years ago, so we are really excited. Now we just need to call Member Services tomorrow AM to book our room. We would love to get BWV or BCV, but I'm thinking we are more likely to get OKW, which we love, or Saratoga Springs, which is not ideal, but if it's all we can get it will do.

That'll do fine. Every once in a while we get a cold snap in November but most of the time bringing a sweatshirt for the evenings would do fine.

We will be there the 8th to the 13th after a cruise. I hope we have found the perfect week! Food and Wine and the Christmas stuff is starting that week. We are going to MVMCP on the 11th. We will have such a good week!!

LOL!! Your DH must know my DH. My DH has been known to wear shorts when there is 2 feet of snow on the ground!

Were you able to get a room? We'll be there too...11/10-11/14. Slim pickings for a 2BR...we're at SSR. Maybe you'll have better luck for something smaller. It seems like they are all booked 11/11...other nights were open.

We'll be there too! Slim pickin's on the rooms for sure! We decided to go about 2 or 3 weeks ago & had VERY little to pick from! No studios at all for 11/12-11/15, we got a 1 BR at OKW -- I'm very excited to try a new resort

they have a handful of deals out there, FDP etc.

i had to call MS yesterday & just for fun asked as to what days were available my trip @ BLT, only 1 day midweek.

We'll be there 11/10-11/15. We booked a couple of months ago & it was slim pickin's then. There was only sporadic availability for a 1BR at BLT & BWV so I waitlisted the 5 nts. We went through trying to waitlist a night here & there for our trip last NYE & it was a pain. We had a choice of AKV, SSR or OKW & we chose OKW since it's one of the resorts we haven't tried yet & we're looking forward to the extra room.

There were mods & values left when we called, I don't think any deluxes & only a couple of DVC rooms. I thought this was supposed to be a slow time of year!

We've been doing early Oct or Dec for years, it's gotten busier every single time we visit. Not as bad as mid summer though It's likely FDP extended into the fall has helped to change crowd levels during both of the time periods.

Congrats! We'll be there the weekend before you. We live in Florida, November can still be hot but I think by then you should be fine with a sweatshirt at night.

Were you able to get a room? I hope so! We booked beach club 7 months out, to the day. F&W books up fast!

We'll be staying at VWL the week before. We will warm things up for you! Was there last year at the same time as you and the weather was PERFECT. I don't think we even needed a wrap at night, but it's always a good idea to have one. F & W here were come!

Hi Everyone! Sorry for not posting sooner. I thought I had already updated!

We were able to get a 1 bdr at Saratoga Springs for our whole stay. I think it was the last one too! We were hoping for a studio, but in truth, I'm happy about the 1 bdr since it means a king sized bed. Since DH and I are both Pooh-sized, the queens are a little small. Plus a soaking tub will be nice. I can pack a couple of my Basin bath bombs! I love those. Especially the ones that release the little mickey heads that float around.

Hey, does anyone have any tips on how best to go about requesting a building close to the main building (Carriage House?) ?

ChellyMouse and Mouse511-Our DH's must belong to a club because mine is the same way. People always ask if he's cold.

I'm so excited about this trip. We had been hoping to go and then cancelled the trip until DH saw a Virgin Atlantic direct flight for only $129 each way. Usually we have to connect in Dallas or Atlanta.

Everyone be sure to wear your LGMH! I've only ever met two DISers in the parks and I would love to meet more!

Ok, so I am the DH in the thread, Pikaboo27 is my DW. In my defense, I am a Balou sized Bear and my legs just don't that cold, so i wear shorts because they are comfortable. Im sure the other Dis'er gentlemen will agree with me.

On the topic at hand, one thing my lovely DW forgot to mention is that our other big news with this trip is that because she is also running the Princess Half Marathon in February, 2011 we are buying Premier Passes during our October DL trip. This is kinda big deal if not just for the cost, but because we now have AP's to BOTH parks... WOW.

Anyone want to comment on bus service from SSR to other park destinations? (Read as, "I HATE the bus but do NOT want to pay for a rental car either...)
