OMG... this is so not right (The Office related)!!!

:wave2: Howdy "The Office" DISer's!!! Can I jump in on this thread? I have to say this is my first time ever watching THE OFFICE! I roared throughout the whole show!!! I am IN!!! :happytv:

:welcome:

TBS runs 2 episodes back-to-back on Tuesday nights (10:00pm eastern). Also starting this Monday, 9/21/09, Fox will be showing re-runs every night (I believe it will be 7:30pm eastern time.)

Momrek06, you have to watch the old seasons too! They are hilarious too! I think you can watch them all on nbc.com

Momrek, you are in for such a treat! You can probably find the other seasons online. Also, look for the British version. I think there are only 2 seasons of that one, but they are pretty funny too. Not as LOL as the American version, but with the British dry humor.

Hi! I moved from West Covina, California a little over a year ago. Enjoying your nice weather? Anyway, once you catch up on the previous seasons of The Office (TBS shows reruns at night), then try to get your hands on the original version of The Office from BBC. It stars Ricky Gervais and is so funny!:lmao:

You MUST watch the older seasons! I think Season 4 was the best. Prepare to laugh your head off! Kristen

:yay: HOWDY DOODY, everyone!!! :yay: Oh..my..I will so have to definitely get the older seasons. ::yes::

My DS came in the living room while I was watching The Office and he has seen the show before...."hey Mom, are you watching this show"....I nodded told him I was waiting for Survivor to tape on my DVR so I thought I would watch The Office....well he exclaimed how good it is having watched it all through his college years!!! I TOTALLY AGREED and proceeded to laughed even harder that he was!!! :rotfl:

WHY does Michael always look at the camera???? :confused3

DS said the show is suppose to be like a documentary??? Anyway, he knew all the characters and was surprised by the one gentleman having the affair.

The first scene with them jumping all over everything was HYSTERICAL..that is what got me quickly HOOKED! :rotfl:

We did watch COMMUNITY right afterwards....and although it was pretty funny....The Office IMHO was much funnier!!! :rotfl2:

Nik's Mom, we have only been in CA one year having come from Boston and we absolutely LOVE it in Southern California. Weather is FAB!!! :sunny:
Santa Ana's due in over the weekend bringing us a heat wave BUT I love it!! :goodvibes

Oh and Ricky Gervais, the comedian from the UK, oh my he is HYSTERICAL!!!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome and please call me KAR!! :flower3:

O-M-G I LOVE LOVE LOVE The Office(USA edition only)!!!! I got so addicted after watching just 1 episode!! My favorite character is definiltey PAM! and of course Jim!! I am so excited you said they'll run nightly re-runs.. I will so tune in!:happytv: When I get the money I'll have to get all the Seasons on DVD, esp. since Season 5 was just released and they have a WHOLE box set thats like $125.00 but I dont have that kind of money to spend just on DVDs LOL! But this show is THE FUNNIEST and one of the best shows!!

Its even better I live in PA(south of Scraton-where the show is "based") and know everything they are talking about when it comes to Scranton, first off I've been there many times. Because we would go to the "Steamtown Mall" they refer to .. thats a real mall..
time to time you'll see them drink from soda cans that say Wegmans.. thats a local grocery store around here as well in Scranton..
AND they have Turkey Hill magnet on their fridge in the Office kitchen/break room. Thats a local drink/favorite of mine, from Lancaster County southwest of Scranton..
Its awesome all the tiny details then have ! down to the PA license plates too! haha
LOL wow I know to much !!!:lmao:

I love the whole episode w/ Jan and Michael going back and forth "babe.. yes babe??"
They show Pam and Jim their bedroom w/ the camera out and facing the bed!!!:rotfl:
Jan said ( i forgot what she had cooking in her oven.) but Pam said do you need help she said.. nah.. the(whatever was in the oven) will be ready in 3 hours.. the rest of the food is ready! ..

LOL so funny!!!

If you think last night's episode was funny (and it was!) you HAVE to watch previous episodes of The Office.:rotfl:

My family and I have been fans of The Office since season one. We have all five seasons on DVD, and we've watched them over and over again. The extras (deleted scenes, bloopers, etc.) that come with the boxed sets are great.:rotfl: Certain members of our family can quote just about anything from any episode. I can't tell you how many times the phrase "that's what she said" has gotten some of us in trouble!:rotfl2:

Last night's show was very, very funny! Loved it! Glad to see the writers still going strong. Meredith "getting friendly" with the intern.:lmao: She is one of my favorite characters. I about died laughing at her antics on last season's "Casual Friday" episode.

Andy leaping into the empty refrigerator box. :rotfl2:

Looks like another great season!:thumbsup2

Loved The Office.

Will have to check for Community on On Demand. I forgot about it.

My kids go to college in Scranton and love all the references. Last night on the show they talked about going to "Tink's" which is a bar down Linden Street. And there is the Froggy 101 (radio station) bumper sticker that was seen behind Dwight. They have been in Cooper's (a seafood restaurant) and I think Farley's bar. We watch it to see how many references we can find!

But yeah all those names you mentioned are all real places definitley! But yeah I would always yell out loud when I saw -hey there they go drinking out of the Wegmans soda can!! Or refer to going to the Steamtown Mall! haha.. It makes the show so much more fun to watch !LOL:lmao:

You guys should also check out Ricky Gervais's stand up show. It's aired on HBO. But it is "r" rated! It's soooo funny!

Nope - they are right in Scranton at the U. The Office convention was actually held there back in 2007. Hope it's time for another one! King's and Wilkes are about 20 minutes south of there down Rt. 81.

WHY does Michael always look at the camera???? :confused3

From wikipedia (which has everything you ever wanted to know about the show, including spoilers):

"The Office is presented as a mockumentary. The primary vehicle for the show is that a camera crew has decided to film Dunder Mifflin and its employees, seemingly around the clock. The presence of the camera is acknowledged by the characters, especially Michael Scott, who enthusiastically participates in the filming. Others, for example Jan Levinson, are frequently annoyed or uncomfortable at its presence. The main action of the show is supplemented with talking-head interviews or "confessionals", with the characters speaking one on one with the camera crew about the day's events. Sometimes two characters share an interview, speaking with each other and the camera at the same time. This occurs most notably with Jim and Pam, or, occasionally, Oscar and Kevin or Kelly and Ryan, and once, Michael and Toby. Dwight frequently interrupts Michael's interviews, as he is often standing off-screen next to Michael as the interview begins."

Sorry, just a slight correction. Your kids go to da U. That is the correct, Scrantonism for the University of Scranton... my alma mater in 1987 (BS) and 1996 (MBA). Your kids will get a kick out of you pronouncing it this way. ;)

I'm surprised that they didn't say Stanley was dancing in the cages they have in Tinks. Now THAT would be funny.

Re-runs start tonight at 7:30 eastern on Fox. Tonight is the pilot!

Tomorrow night on TBS they are running 3 hours of The Office. :happytv:

:thumbsup2, Thanks, lucas!!! "Mockumentary"...:rotfl: I have never heard that term before but leave it to THE OFFICE to be a mockumentary!!! :happytv:

If anyone is interested, the original (British) The Office is now airing on adult swim (cartoon network). Truly hilarious and a bit more edgy and out there than the US version.

Thanks for posting this! I have season 1 on DVD and just watched the 2 hour Christmas special on BBCA. But I have never seen season 2.

Was sad to see "The Office" only win one award last night. Loved the little bit Raine did with the director who won though. :rotfl:

Oh man, I am so glad I found this thread. I am a HUGE Office Fan, my DBf and I have every season on DVD and watch them religiously. We are actually quite obsessed, we probably spend too much time watching the show! I loved the season opener, my favorite line was when Michael said "I should of know poopball wasn't a real sport." I've been quoting that one all week, hahah!

Didn't care for the very beginning, Michael asking advice from Oscar.
Wonder what's going on with Jim.
Back to the show to find out.
