OMG, My boss

Well, my boss got off the phone from his wife and he was leaving for the day. As he passed my desk, he said in the sweetest voice, "Bye, I love you." He stoppd and realized what he had said. At that moment, his phone rang before he could explain. Of course, I'm over there dying laughing (and I had to go pee really bad). It was so funny. I had to tell everyone in the office. If you just knew by boss, it would even funnier. He is one of those stuck in the mud type men with no personality. He explained that his wife was having a bad day and he had her on his mind.

While not nearly as funny as "hon", my boss frequently calls me by his wife's name! Our names are not even remotely close, but I spend more time with him than she does.

Recently his phone line was ringing and he yelled out "Hey Rena, would you get that for me"? I picked up the phone and it is was his wife, I put her on hold and said "It's the real Rena", he looked at me and said huh? I said you just asked Rena to answer for you and now she's on the phone. So I guess he has no idea that he does this...

I accidentally called my boss "my love" on the phone a few months ago and he will NOT let me forget it.

Actually, that one happened to me from a male co-worker.

We were discussing work, and he said "Love you, bye" just before hanging up.

He called back immediately (I was still laughing) and I could hear the embarassment in his voice as he explained it was habit from talking to his wife on phone, etc.

Maybe I had given him a suggestion of how to solve a problem and he was used to taking orders from her so it was a natural confusion?

First day back from vacation, he was in bad car accident which led to him being out of work for a long time due to leg injury. They ended up letting him go. So, I never really had to see him again, luckily.
