Last night we found out that we are expecting our 3rd. child. Now I have some concerns about:
  • Travel by plane
  • Rides
  • Walking Time at Parks
Please we need some good advices...Thanks!

*We were trying to conceive at WDW but our Tinker Bell take a short detour.....(Our daugther was conceived at WDW 5 years ago)

You really should talk to your doctor about all of that. Your doc can give you advice specific to how far along you'll be when the trip happens. If you can go, remember to take it easy and drink LOTS of water. Make sure you know any warning signs (swollen ankles, etc) to watch for, too.

That said, as long as you're sensible, you should be able to have a great time. :goodvibes

Oh, and congratulations!

Congratulations.

I was pregnant at WDW during my 14 week. I did just fine with the flight and the easy going rides and all the walking.

Have fun.

Congratulations!!!!

I'm from Puerto Rico, I really hope you will enjoy your vacation over here. Usually is safe to travel before the 7th month, but the best person to ask is your doctor.

Enjoy everything!! your vacations, your pregnancy, everything!! :rotfl:

Just wanted to say congratulations on your new "mouseketeer" and wish you and your family all the best.

Travel by plane shouldn't be a problem until later in pregnancy.

For rides, I'm sure there is a precise list somewhere, but my doc told me to avoid the rollercoasters, Splash Mountain, motion simulators. Was fine with the kiddie rides.

Walking -- ugh! I tried to do to much, too fast on our trip (with ALL of DH's extended family). Ended up at Sand Lake hospital with spotting. Turned out everything was fine (thank god), but the doctor said they see several pregnant women a week with the same thing -- do too much and wear their bodies out. I spent two days worrying before going to the hospital, a day at the hospital, and a day with full rest before I was able to get back to WDW (on a much slower schedule). Oh, and I was in A-1 primo fitness/health before the trip. Now that my daughter is 1 year old, I can look back and see what an idiot I was not to relax and enjoy the trip instead of trying to keep up with people who were NOT PREGNANT.

So, my advice is take it slow. Take lots of breaks. Drink lots of water. Sit as often as possible. Do not be the one who "Does it all" -- let others carry stuff and do everything that needs to be done. See this as an opportunity to "watch the shows" more than "ride the rides".

Enjoy your trip!

Jan 2004 we went to WDW and I was 8 weeks pregnant. I kept thinking "what was I thinking? We should of got pregnant AFTER the trip, (or during as you said.)"

It turned out fine. I went to the OB/GYN before we left (he normally doesn't want to see you until 8 weeks, but I had them move it up a little for me because of the trip.) He said I could ride and do anything I felt up to. I get really sick when prengnant (but perfectly healthy) and I was fearful of tossing my cookies all around WDW. My Dr. is a WDW fan too and he took pitty on me. He gave me a medication called Zofan. It really helped. The funny thing was I was really sick at home, but the whole time at WDW I felt so good I didn't need any at all. Lot's of fresh air, exerise and good food everywhere. (It was Jan after all and we are from Michigan.) :Pinkbounc

The funny thing was my friend who went with us just found out she was pregnant with her second too, right before they left to get on the plane!

We also went back to Orlando in May when I was 26 weeks along. We didn't do Disney that time, we spent the week at Vero Beach instead, that is a great place to go pregnant with young kids.

Good luck, have a great trip and congrats on the pregnancy!

Congratulations!

I went to WDW early in both my pregnancies. As everyone mentioned, be sure to take it easy! Lots of rest stops and water breaks. (Also know where all the ladies rooms are LOL) My ob/gyn told me to go and have a great time. If you are going early in the pregnancy and are prone to morning sickness, you may want to ask for a prescription for the plane. As for rides, try to avoid everything with a warning.

Best Wishes to you and your family!

we were living in Florida when I was pregnant with my youngest (now two) I went when I was six weeks, 3 1/2 months, and six months pregnant. Just make sure you keep yourself hydrated, sit whenever you are at all tired and just take it easy. Remember: though many people doubt it, it is possible to do Disney in a leisurely way.

And Congratulations!

Just wanted to say CONGRATS!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
I was pregnant with our 3rd last year when we went and he gets to experience his first Disney magic in Dec. Good Luck!

Thank You! Thank You! ThankYou for all your support and advices!!!

Also wanted to say congrats! :goodvibes
I also just found out we're expecting #2 (about 8 weeks along) and we're headed to WDW in 10 days! :cool1: I love all the advice and tips. I'm actually seeing my ob the day before we go, so we'll see what he has to say!

Congrats!!!!!

I would list all your questions & bring them to your next OB/GYN appointment and see what s/he has to say.

Congrats again!!
