OMG...I am so full. First time review. UPDATE-2/9 Mama Melrose/Raglan Road

I love the pictures of you in the parade I love Disney for the pure fact I feel like a kid when I am there. So much fun!!!!

This is why we go and don't even worry about acting a fool. Who cares? You should act like a kid when going to the Mouse House.

I am excited with your review. I know we will be dining at Chef Mickeys for dinner when we arrive in August:)

It is so much fun! You will love it there.

I am really lovin' the reviews! Can't wait for more! popcorn::

After our early morning breakfast fun, we headed over to MK just to ride the Haunted Mansion. This was the first time I had ever just gone to MK and just walked over to the ride I wanted to ride and then walked right back out to catch the monorail to EPCOT. That was cool, and so much fun! This was also our very first run-in with the Brazilians that were over-running the parks that weekend. Thank god they were at MK and not EPCOT.

Le Cellier. This was the very first time we had been here. We have been told by all of our friends that this was one we had to go to, no matter what. So we did...and it was good.

J had the infamous cheese soup and she liked it a lot. I had a taste of it, and it was okay...I am just not a fan of cheesy soups at all, I think I am the only person in the world who hates cheese soups. Since I don't have a picture, I was probably thinking...been there, seen that. We have all seen THE bowl of soup from here. No need to waste space with yet another one.

I had the tomato stack, of which I had been salivating over for weeks. This was actually my very first taste of yuzu anything, and ooohhhh...it was good. I think all other appetizers at this restaurant don't get tried as much because of the reputation of the soup. I was happy with this appetizer. It was fresh and tasty. The tomato was perfectly ripe, as was the watercress on top. The amount of basalmic was perfect with the vinaigrette. Overall, I loved this, and I would definitely have it again. Sorry for the horrible picture, but I didn't want to flash the camera in this dark restaurant and blind everyone.

J had the burger and fries. Her standard when she wants something "light". It wasn't anything special to me. She liked it, but then again, she likes any kind of burger with cheddar cheese on it. The homemade ketchup was good though.

3221758334_81f342b9de.jpg

I tried something really light. I just couldn't tackle a whole steak, even though I really wanted to, but I was really saving it up for dinner which had to be changed to an earlier time, and I couldn't change this reservation. Kind of sucked, but there was so much confusion with the parks changing their times and whatnots. I had the mushroom ravioli. This was okay. Needed salt something fierce, and while I love mushrooms, this was a bit too much for me. I liked it, but it will be a while before I have that many mushrooms in one dish. But it was light, and that was what I wanted without getting a salad.

3220907311_7780bb916a.jpg

J didn't really want dessert because there was nothing on the menu she would even try. I talked her into trying the sugar free sorbet (I think it was raspberry). It was really good. I liked it, and she ended up eating half of it, so there ya go. :)

3220907329_c68ffb7c8a.jpg

I had the apple-rhubarb crumble...so super-de-duper tasty it was. I hadn't had a apple-rhubarb pie this good since I lived in Michigan (near Canada as a matter of fact). The crumble was as good as it could be and not dry. I am not a fan of maple, but it was a really light maple flavor ice cream, and oh so good. This was my favorite dessert of the entire trip. Worth the try if you want something just a little different that doesn't have chocolate in it.

3220907351_bb2e8aaeba.jpg

Overall, we loved it here. We liked that you got little bits of trivia when sat down by the seater and the waiter. We got to sit in Ontario, which I have been to numerous times living so close to it, so it was nice to actually talk to the waitress and she was surprised I knew where she was from. We will definitely go back. Le Cellier lived up to the hype. Now to go for dinner and actually eat a steak.

TOTALS:
Tomato Stack - $8.99
Ravioli - $19.99
Apple Crumble - $6.99
Diet Coke - $2.19
Cheese Soup - $6.99
Burger - $12.49
Sorbet - $6.49
Tax - $4.17
Tip - $15.00
Total: $83.30

And next the Brown Derby, I think the ONLY meal I where I ate everything that was put in front of me.

oohhhhh--really want to read the Brown Derby review!

:wave2: Joining in...Yummy Reviews! I also love that pic of you and Pluto. I love it when the characters are "in character" :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear about the Brown Derby. My DH has wanted to try eating there for a while now, so I am anxiuos to hear how it was. Thanks for the reviews!!!! :goodvibes

Great reviews! Thank you so much for taking the time to write them for us!
Everything seems so very tempting! :thumbsup2 So maybe I should try something new at Le Cellier too and maybe, just maybe we should give Rose and Crown a second try - they failed to impress the first time around!

Tonight, our fabulous food festivities bring us to the Hollywood Brown Derby at the Disney Hollywood Studios. After changing this reservation twice because the park changed hours. Yes...I actually received a phone call from Disney Dining and was asked to change my reservation time to an hour and a half earlier than I originally asked for. This was not the only one this happened with either. It seems Hollywood Studios and Disney Dining had some confusion with all of the hour changes in January. Kind of sucked, but since I was not in the mood to ruin my stress-free trip, I just went with it.

We arrived at 6:30 and only had to wait a couple of minutes before we were seated. We liked the restaurant itself, and we could only imagine what it would have been like to eat there in Hollywood itself. We were seated on the upper level, so we could see everything as we ate dinner. It was great ambiance. And now...the food! Tada!

J hated every single thing on the appetizer menu, so the server checked with the back to see if she could get one of the kid's salads instead. They hooked her up with this monstronsity. I think she only ended up eating maybe one third of it. She said it was just okay. I mean, what do you expect from a salad?

3221758422_51bf41460f.jpg

I, started off with the Wine Flight of the Stars. It was very interesting reading about the vineyards of Fred MacMurray and Fess Parker. They were all very good wines. I liked the Pinot Gris the absolute best. It was very light and bright and paired well with my appetizer, which was the crab cake. The Chardonnay was okay, not one of my favorite wines to begin with, but I drank it all anyway. I loved the Marilyn Merlot, and I am not normally a fan of Merlot because it has too much aftertaste. If wine tastings are your thing, then really give this a try. It is totally worth it.

3220907451_d49643da4b.jpg

Onto my appetizer. I had the crab cake and holy smokes it was super tasty. I will eat just about any kind of crab cake, but this one was absolutely fabulous. I loved the mustard sauce and I actually used some of the bread to soak it up it was that good. Now I know you aren't supposed to do that, but how can you not when the sauce just lends itself to being sopped up?

3220907417_4d264272e4.jpg

J had the NY Strip steak, and while it said it had mushrooms in the ragout, there was maybe on on the plate. No nevermind because she hates mushrooms. She also has gotten into the habit of asking for all sauces on the side because she is a little picky when it comes to how the sauces taste. This one came all over it. We are not too picky when it comes to sending something back, I mean, it has to be really wrong in order for us to send it back. We have lots of friends in the industry and we just like to be very nice to others who work in a very unrewarding career. She liked it, so that was good. The meat was well-done to her specifications, and nothing was amiss, so all was well with dish one. Yay! I am so sorry for this picture...no matter how much I tried, it just would not cooperate.

3221758462_66a23933a6_m.jpg

I had the grouper with citrus sauce. I can't even begin to desribe how good this was. I am a true sucker for fried capers, and this definitely had a lot of those, so I was in heaven. I couldn't help but finish every single morsel of this delicious dish. It was light, the fish was perfectly cooked, and it was really what I wanted without really knowing it was what I wanted. If that makes ANY sense at all.

3220907479_9d85a91b56.jpg

And onto the dessert portion of our show.

J had the cheesecake. It was okay. The crust was good though. The cake part itself was a little dry, but not completely inedible. J didn't like the sauce and was very grateful she got it on the side as it would have ruined the whole dish. I thought it was good and tart, yet sweet.

3220907495_3050b7b7d7.jpg

I had the infamous grapefruit cake. It was perfect in every way. It was moist (and while I have read every single review of this cake recently, it was nothing like everyone said it was) and tangy. Yeah, it was a lot of grapefruit, and if you don't like the overpowering taste of it, no matter how small the amount, then please don't even attempt to taste this dessert. It had grapefruit sauce, grapefruit cake, grapefruit icing, and dried grapefruit on top. Everything about it emanated grapefruit.

3221758546_6bf9c778ed.jpg

We truly loved our dinner here and we would love to go back again. Our server was perfect, even when she forgot to refill my water twice. She was accomodating, and very pleasant, and made the experience here very worthwhile. There are so many things on the menu that we both would like to try at least once, and I really hope we get to do so. While I don't think it is worth the 2 TS credits, it was good.

That is what truly made that meal special. I look at that picture and it makes me laugh because I wasn't expecting it at all.

Great reviews! :thumbsup2

::yes:: Le Cellier's my favorite-you must try the steak next time!

Thanks, and yes I definitely will.

Oh yeah, definitely go. The food was great.

The cheese plate from Rose and Crown looks divine!!

It was SO good!

Your reviews are fantastic as well as your photos!

Thank you! The last set didn't come out too great, but thanks!

Great reviews! Thank you so much for taking the time to write them for us!

Thank you, and I am a big believer of trying places more than once. One person in the kitchen can make all the difference in the world when it comes to an experience at a restaurant.

Just found your great reviews, loved the pictures of Ohanas breakfast and Brown Derby dinner as these are both meals we try for the first time this trip.

Just signing on...thanks for the reviews, they are fabulous! I'm headed to the BD and Ohana in two weeks and now I'm feeling really good about the ADRs (I suffer from ADR remorse! :scared: ). Can't wait to read more!

I've never been there, my DD5 is well mannered but I would not want to bother other diners. Did you see any families or was it mostly adults? :scratchin

That's the same excuse my aunt used when she licked a plate clean in a fancy restaurant (much to my mum's embarassment). :rotfl2:

The salad, crab cakes, and grouper look so amazing. I do hope we get to go there in June while we are there. I think it looks very yummmmmmmmy! I can' wait.

So, how bad were you with the Mad Hatter, Hmmmmmmmm?

We start this culinary adventure mosying our way to the Grand Floridian at 8:00 am. I decided to make this my late breakfast of the trip because I thought we would sty up late the night before, but that was fine with me. This restaurant is busy! As we walked in, we thought, holy cow, it might take forever for the characters to come up to see us. Good thing I didn't really have any plans until 2:00pm.

Now, I don't really have any pictures of the buffet. We were not all that thrilled with it, to be completely honest with you. We ate a lot of things. I missed the strawberry soup, but that was okay. The place was so packed, and we really were there for the characters anyway, so the food was just an afterthought. I did try the lobster benedict, and I was expecting something completely different. The hollandaise was good, but the lobster was shredded. Now that was just wrong. I don't know if that was the way it was supposed to be, but that was what I got. Ickyx2. I did enjoy the breakfast pizza, and their bacon was the best we had the entire trip, so that was good. The food was not horrible, and I am not saying it was inedible, but it is pretty standard breakfast buffet fare. It was just okay. This is one of those places that you go to for the character interaction anyway.

One of the bright spots of the meal was our server totally making a scene that it was my birthday. That was fun...NOT! So...instead of food review on this one...you get character interaction reviews.

The first one to come our way was...Tigger. He was fun and cute. He seemed to spend a lot of time in our area, so that was pretty cool.

3220813987_42f7c905c7.jpg

Next up...Alice. Now, this is the second time I have met Alice, and I really loved the first one I ever met. But it was different. It was the in MK and she was with the Mad Hatter, and they had such great repoire that I really didn't think anyone would ever top that. Now, don't get me wrong, I liked her, but it was just meeting her and getting her pic. Maybe it was because it was really busy, but maybe it was her.

3221664276_68b3267a99.jpg

The funny thing about that picture was I had no idea that Tigger was trying to get into it. It was funny to come home and see the pictures and see that! Tigger was definitely being himself.

Pooh, was just that...Pooh. We had to put our hands up to our mouths because J said she hugged Pooh.

3220814115_1f2099dc33.jpg

Mary Poppins was good. Very proper and practically perfect in every way. Would you expect anything but?

3220814143_803b510eed.jpg

Now the Mad Hatter. He saw my buttons and asked me which was more important, my anniversary, or my birthday. Now...being the idiot I was...said my birthday, of course. He looked at me and put his hands on his hips and told J that unbirthdays were ALWAYS more important. The guy was just crazy anyway. He was the best Mad Hatter yet.

3221664418_1ba7b656e7.jpg

He wasn't too mad, but he was fun.

So all in all, we want to go to this restaurant for dinner, not breakfast. It is all about the characters, and not really the food. It was a good experience at least once.

TOTALS:
Buffet - $20.99 each
Tax - $2.73
