OMG! I am OBSESSED with DisBoards! Ahh - Support Group needed...

:surfweb: I have DisRadio playing while I do it - as lound as my Laptop will allow!! There is no TV blaring, the kids are ouside in the sprinkler... I get a little Piece and quiet and my Disney Fix while I have the ambition to do the housework I need to do. :rotfl: I think its a pretty fair compromise!! Now when DH gets home he won't be able say, "What the Heck did you do all day?? Play on the Disney Boards??" Yes, but I also cleaned!! I think it should all work out just fine!! Does any know when they change up the music on DisRadio? :confused3

How's this for obsessed...we were away this past weekend and at a black tie event and I found myself fiddling with my phone under the table keeping up with the DISBOARDS! Pretty sad, isn't it? :rotfl: DH says I have it bad for Disney and there is just no hope. I tell him I am just excited about our upcoming trip. Now that Fall is approaching, we will be back to hitting Disney throughout the cooler months. I'm probably the only one that prays for summer to be over for that very reason!

Ok, so I am really obsessed and have sucked DH into my addiction.... Well kind of!! .We had been away for a few days and came home and cranked the A/C. When we were getting ready for bed, I mentioned to DH that the A/C was smelling "weird" or maybe I used "different"... A musty smell. I said it smelled like Disney World!! He said "I THOUGHT THE EXACT SAME THING!!" :cool1: and he was so excited! I then found myself infront of the A/C taking big whiffs with memories of WDW and my childhood coming back to me!! it smelled/smells like the water in the rides at WDW like Pirates and Small World. Also like the waterfall in the loby of the Poly!! Last week the kids were playing with the hose in the back yard and accidentaly sprayed the A/C. (or so I think thats how it happened??) Anyone else ever smell this musty smell and think of the great times at WDW!!??

Please let me know where the DIS anonymous(e) meetings will be held. My husband has renamed me a DISnut. I love the DIS, and I am an addict, too.

:sad2: it crapped out on me yesterday afternoon.... oh well, i will just have to GO to WDW to get the small now i guess.... :cool1: :thumbsup2

Good morning!! Was up crunching reservation numbers last night til 1AM and was backon this AM at 8:30 with coffee in hand figuring out our vacation plans like crazy!!! Singed up for AAA to get the great discounts I have read about....

How is evereyone coming on their 2008 reservations and itineraries?

Where did you decide to stay and are you happy with your package?

Dining plan or no dining plan? Concierege or dining plan? what did you decide?

WL or CR? wil you split your time between WDW and universal or other Orlando attractions??

Anything you found interesting wheile booking - ins and out?

Grendalyn-Hope you got your AC back up and running. It has been wicked hot and humid here...not sure if you have the same up in NH.

We have three trips booked before the end of the year, but no plans for anything in 2008 yet. Are they booking yet for next year? If so, I've got to get on the stick and get planning!

The dining plan definitely was a deal for us the one time we used it (although confusing at times until we got the hang of it). Not sure I like the changes they have made to it for '08...higher price, no gratuity and less food. Once they announced those changes, it doesn't seem so cost effective for our family.

Hmmmm...WL or CR? I guess that depends on what floats your boat. Personally, aside from the fireworks view (if you are lucky enough to get one of those rooms), there is nothing I like about the CR...the decor of the rooms and the common areas just don't put me at ease or give me that happy feeling. It has kind of a sterile/hospital feel to me...but that is me. I know plenty of people love it there...thank goodness Disney has something for everyone! WL...I'm not an outdoors kinda gal, but I enjoy the theme and decor of this resort quite a bit. Gives me that definite happy Disney feel.

We just finalized some of our plans for our upcoming trips on Saturday. Also bought a few MYW tickets for when we bring friends and/or family since the price hike went into effect on Sunday. Every penny saved helps! Still can't get over 3 price increases in the past year...but I guess Disney figures that people will still come, so they can pull that off. ((sigh)) They're right...I'll keep coming. :rotfl:

We've done concierge at GF and AKL but honestly we didn't really use them that much. Probably used the one at GF the most and that was to squeeze into restaurants with 5 minutes notice...but this was before the advent of the dining plan, so not sure that would fly now. We liked coming back to the room and having the food spread in the mid-afternoon and evenings...but nothing I'd pay high $$$ for. Half the time we were too busy in the parks to partake in the food anyway because we'd always get back way too late. We are pretty short on needs when we are at Disney. I usually have everything taken care of months before we step out the door. Kinda felt bad since we really had nothing to use the concierge for when we went to AKL, but DH got that as a free upgrade because he has a TA license (we only use it for our own personal travel anymore). If you get the concierge at a good rate, I suppose everyone should try it at least once.

Universal-we did that one a few years back and all I heard were whines about when were we going back to Disney? So now we just stick to Disney 100%. DH expressed interest in SeaWorld, but he had not been there in so many years, that he thought it was still just the whale and dolphin show and that was about it...had to educate him that it is a huge theme park unto itself now...then told him the admission price and he said...nope, we will stick to Disney with our AP's! LOL!

Hi Disney addicts!

I've been gone awhile... what's this about the 2008 dinning program?:confused3

The dining plan changes for 2008 were just announced recently. The dining plan will no longer include gratuity and will no longer include an appetizer. The base price of the base plan is going down $1 to $37.99 for adults and $9.99 for kids, but when you factor in that you now have to pay gratuity yourself, your paying more.

There will also be the introduction to a Magic Your Way Dining DELUXE plan in 2008. That will cost $69.99 for 10 and over and $19.99 under 10.

There will also be an option to add the MYW Dining +Wine option for $39.99 per night (entitles you to one bottle of wine per night).

The information was posted on AllEars in July.

What a useful sourse of information you are!! If you aren't a travel agent you may have missed your calling - but its never too late!

Great info about the CR and WL. CR gets my vote just for the location of it and I always wanted to stay there as a kid - My mom was a Poly freak, so we always stayed there or Ft. Wilderness... I love the convenience of it, the monorail being right there, new pool, but not the decor so much... I like the Decor at WL and the newnessof it, but would love it more if the resort was on the monorail. The boat can be chilly... well,it was in March anyway...

I still have to sell DH on the dining plan. He says no way, I say yes! He caved and said we will do it this time and see how it works, but if there are any glitches, then never again. Do you think its worth it or are we better of to go with out the dining pla option?? :wizard:

I hear you about the monorail and wanting the MK view. We made it a point to stay at every resort on property over the years just to find out what we did and didn't like.

I think it really depends on HOW you eat at Disney. For us, we thought it would be a good deal because we do table service every night and we do not like to leave Disney property for meals. We eat breakfast on the fly or sometimes not at all and lunch is always counter service in the parks. Since our dining is always the most expensive part of our trip, we thought the dining plan would work for us. For our purposes, the dining plan wasn't all that for us. We normally eat at the signature restaurants or do the dining shows (Luau or Hoop Dee Doo)-using two table service credits for those didn't save us any money at that point. I think the plan is really good for someone looking to have an all inclusive experience or to introduce someone to the dining options on property (who may otherwise have gone off property or simply ate counter service their whole trip). Like everything else, I think everyone should try the dining plan at least once and then make an informed decision on whether it works for them or not.

I should probably add...the dining changes for 08 were "unofficially" announced, but the official Disney announcement is expected this month.

The MYW Deluxe plan will include 3 meals a day with your choice of table or counter service, 2 snacks per person per day and a resort refillable mug for each person. It will still take 2 table service credits for Signature and dinner shows though.

Hi fellow addicts! We started back at school (work) yesterday so I've been very busy. I'm so glad the 2008 rates came out Sunday!!!!! My sister told me Sunday morning and things started rolling. I quickly reevaluated all of my prices and comparisons (I had originally used the 2007 rates.), decided to go with a package, and booked! We're staying at Pop for 6 nights/7days. We decided to go ahead with the basic dining plan despite the changes coming. In all of my excessive planning and research, I had listed every meal, for every day using the menus from one of the disney sites. I estimated what it would cost us to eat and added our character meals. Then I added 18% gratuity to the TS and taxes and found that my figures were very close. I knew that the DP wouldn't save me money, but we have never tried it and decided it was better if our meals were pre-paid. I was very excited when I called to change my room-only ressies to a package and because I had upped our date one day, was able to book all of my ADR's at the same time!!!! I got everything we wanted! Needless to say, I went to work/school yesterday with a big smile on my face and dreaming of our now official WDW vacation!! :dance3: :cool1:

Sounds awesome, I'm happy for you!:goodvibes

We are hoping to go fall of 2008. I was disappointed with the new changes, but nothing stays the same for long.:sad2: Who knows maybe they will still offer free dining?!?:rolleyes1 It's just so hard because we were planning fall of 2007 and then bumped it to fall 2008. But then I just read last night that Rock n Rollacoaster will be out for refurbishment this fall. That is one of my childrens favorite rides, so that makes me feel better not going this fall.:)

Have fun planning and a great vacation!!

P.S. It was good to hear that you at least thought the ddp was still worth it. Some people don't think it is anymore. That was one of the highlights for my husband and older kids! My husband said it was still worth it to him. But then he would say that if he had no plan at all and ate what he wanted at Disney!

WOW!! All I can say is that since DH and I decided that we were going to plan a WDW Vacation.... I AM OBSESSED with DisBoards!!! :disrocks: I can't get enough!! We are on school vacation this week and find myself parked infront of the LapTop checking and rechecking, posting and reposting on The Dis!!!!:scared1: I will go off and do this or that and as I walk by my "User CP" page, I refresh and see whats going on!!! :rotfl: Maybe take a quick peek at one board or another...

Its 1:04 PM and I still haven't showered!! I have to at some point because I need to go to the post office, run to the grocery store and maybe :laundy:.

I just can't get enough and our trip is over a year away!! I am so excited! Whats wrong with me - The Dis is running my life!!! :surfweb:

Is there anyone else out there that would like to begin a DA (Dis'ers Anonymous) or Dis-a-non Support Group??:disrocks:

Ok - found something to pull me away for a few - a poopy diaper awaits!! :lmao:

Me too! We went earlier this year and are already planning our next trip. Now, if only I could get my husband to move to a WDW resort.:rotfl2:

:thumbsup2 Wow - I thought this thread had petered out.... but it is sl staying a float here and there! We fnaly and officially booked out April 08 Disey vacation!! SOOOOO EXCITEDD!! We will be thre for 7 nights and 8 days, staying at Wilderness lodge. :goodvibes

I can't get enough Dis! I have bought evy book and watched my old disney Planning Vidoe from 3 years ago; still waiting for our new ones to show up!! Now I just have to keep up with my payments on the rest of it and I will be good!! But timing i everything and now that school isstarting, I will have to start back to work!

I am listening to DisRadio right now!! What else is happening out there with all my fellow addicts?? :surfweb:

Lots of lurking and not much posting - but I'm double-digit dancing! 98 days to go!

Wow...it has been pretty busy for us these past few weeks. We took the kids up to Niagra Falls for a week and then spent a week at Lake George. I tried popping in on the Dis here and there while away, but the vacations won out! :lmao:

Now we have been back to reality for more than a week now and anxiously anticipating our trip to Disney at the end of September. The kids don't start back to school until Wednesday the 5th...so just a few more days. I think the kids are ready to go back (and I'm way ready for them to go back too)!

Work has picked up to an extreme-giving me little time to play on the computer, although I'm trying. Maybe that is a good thing though since sitting in front of the computer helps my butt to expand! :rotfl: Seems everyone is already thinking about the holidays and they want things done well in advance so their homes are picture perfect for family and friends...meanwhile I am fielding calls from homeowners that make bridezillas look calm and serene in comparison. Oh well...guess there is no true dream job, so I just grin and bear it. Counting the days to the Food & Wine Festival. Can't come soon enough!

Well, Here I am - AGAIN - at work scooping out the Dis Boards! I am supposed to be working, but have really accomplished what I needed to so far this week and thought I would pop in for my little addiction fix. But I am the only one in the office today and you know whatthey say - When the Cat is away, the mouse will play... How fitting??!!! :lmao:

Unfortunalty school has started and that means that our schedule is maxed out and leaves little time for my addiction, AKA "Dising" at night.... My liefe looks a little somehting like this: Roll out of bed and shower, get ready for school/work, drop the kids off at school then preschool, then my moms, go to work, then I coach, pick up my kids, bring DS8 to football practice, wait for practice to be over, load up and drive home, settle in do home work, unpack lunch boxes and make dinner. Eat dinner, clean up dinner, get baths done, teeth brushed, jammies on, Kids into bed. Get lunches made. Time for laundry, a little house work and maybe a show or two in the mean time. And then start all over again.... Hopefully a little QT with DH in there somewhere...

I am starting to feel the $$ pinch too! We booked our Disney vacation a couple of weeks ago and secured it with our $200 deposit. Haven't yet made another payment but its soemthing I think about ALL the time. I get nervouse that I wont be able to have it paid for when I need to. I am not worried about affording it, I know we can, We dont go til April, so I am not too worried. Just feeling a little overwhelmed - anyone else ever get that feeling once you have booked your Disney Vacation???

Hope everyone is well out there!! Take care and HAPPY DIS_ING!!

Just popping in to say hi  I haven't posted in a really long time...sorry! Still very much addicted to the DIS and all things Disney. DH really does feel that I have lost my mind! I will be taking DD18mos next Saturday for 3 night stay at the GF. My MIL and SIL are going and begged us to go. I at first thought no because we are going next month but after much begging and offering to help out with $$, we are going. I'm a little nervous about flying alone with DD and DH not being there but I think it will be fine. I must say I would only do this for a Disney trip ;)

Hope all of you other DIS addicts are doing well :goodvibes
