Still obsessed as ever!

It's really me. I needed a Disney fix in the worst way!! You know, we have been told that if everything goes as planned we should be able to move into our new home in late Nov. /early Dec. Our next Disney trip is in mid Dec. Guess which one I'm more excited about? Yep, you guessed it. Going back to Disney is causing bigger butterflies than my new home. But...I'm really not obsessed.

Not only am I addicted, I have sucked my cousin in, too! I'm very new to this but I told her she HAD to come her to plan her Thanksgiving trip this year! DH and I were just watching a show on the History channel about illegal drugs, the history of how drugs came to America, and how they have grown into the epidemic that they are today. At one point the show talked about how some historical figure (can't remember who) who became addicted to marijuana (we've always 'argued' over whether marijuana is addictive). DH and I were talking about this and he said "I guess one could become addicted to just about anything if they liked it enough". At which point I replied "Yes, for example, my addiction to the DISboards." DH wholeheartedly agreed that this has moved beyond a past-time, and onto a full-on addiction! Though he also agreed that it's not too bad of an addiction to have.

DH asks me at night what I am doing on the computer and I tell him I'm on the Disboards-he just shakes his head-he doesn't get it. Oh well, I try to explain that it is fun-a source of relaxation and enjoyment (and information). He still doesn't get it. I don't get his Sci-Fi channel addiction either, so I guess we are even.

Just put the finishing touches our out Fall trip to see the mouse. Got our MNSSHP tickets, waiting on our renewed DDE card and PAP renewals too. Now if the F&W Festival events schedule would just come out, I could make my final tweaks for our dining plans. Looking to do Party for the Senses and one of the Exquisite Evenings dinners while we are there. The kids loved PFTS last year with La Nouba-thankfully they actually ate some food there too. Now my next project will be our costumes. Still undecided if we will go with the Pirates theme or choose something else.

Okay, this is really an illness now-my days and nights are filled with Disney on the brain.

I am sad to say it, but my Daily, sometimes HOURLY, check ins at The Dis are slowing becoming a weekly event ... We are so busy this time of year! I was actually talking to my DH the other night about how excited I was for school to be over soon and how I have the summer off... I secretly thought in the back of my mind about having more time infront of the Laptop and The Dis!!! YAY!!

Also to find out that DFIL and DMIL have considered taking all of us (DMIL, DFIL, DSIL, DBIL their 2 girls and the 5 of us to Disney this winter!!! YAY! It is not an ideal trip, but it's FREE!!!! Being the Anal-retentive planner that I am , we will be sure to incorporate our own plans in the deal and be able to save save save for a DCL Trip of our own the following winter!! There is a downside but also a very UP side!! We will see how t all plans out and what will happen after we sell our souls to the Devil so to speak! I don't care - anything Disney is AOK with me!

I wholeheartedly agree with you all. I just found "The Dis" a couple of weeks ago and it has become a daily ritual. We are going this October and I started planning last October! I think I may have planned everything so now I am planning for my NEXT trip! My coworkers and family were excited about the details but have become slighty annoyed now. I was so happy to find a place where I can read and talk about WDW whenever I want!

I know what you mean, so many things going on lately that my time with the Dis is dwindling. Never will totally go away, hard to break that addiction!

That's a tough one, cause I could spend endless hours on here just reading (let alone responding) and then there are days I can't get on at all. Darn parental responsibilities are taking me away! Grrrrr!

Wow...this time of year just has us jumping through our backsides at my house. School is ending in two weeks, so the kids are busy studying for their final exams. We finally got our pool open and clear last week. I'm trying to tweak our vacation plans for September/October to Disney (really nothing to tweak to be honest, but I just love pondering and analyzing our plans-it helps me get through the day).

I am also trying to figure out what summer trips we will do this year. DH can't come with us on those-work is too busy for him to get away during the summer, so it has to be someplace I feel comfortable driving to. Last year we did Newport, RI, Hershey Park & Williamsburg. I am thinking of possibly taking the kids to Lake George for a week-done it many times in the past, but it has been a few years since the last trip. I like it up there because I can RELAX-unlike my commando Disney vacations (which I still enjoy even more).

Work is crazy! Should be working on house plans right now, but I gravitated to the boards yet again. (Common problem for me with working from the old homestead).

We also just received the paperwork from our attorney regarding adopting my nephew, so it looks like we may become his official mom and dad in as little as a month. Have to go for the hearing at the end of June, but were told it is just a formality. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on that one-it has been a long time coming! DN has been with us for over a year, but it is still an adjustment (one I'm happy to make). Just never thought I'd have another little one in the house again since mine are in their teens. Anyone else start over after a long long break? I feel like I'm too old for this!

OK - so this is how obsessed with the Disney and The boards I am - We went to the car wash yesterday and the smell of the water, stale water smell I think it was reminded me of ........ River Country!!! I took a wiff, then a nother big one - DH looks at me weird and says, "Whats' wrong -you OK?" I said, "Nothing - do you smell that? I smells like River COuntry!!" It has been 15+++ years since Disney has even ran River Country and about 20 years since i had last been there!! ... but those memoires that are stored with smell, sounds... and all that came flooding back to me!! How obsessed is that? DH looked at me, gave the the hairy eyeball and siaid, "You're Weird!" I have read posts on here before about memories triggered by sounds and smels, and this is a classic case of it!! Just like the water smell from POTC or SMal world, or the smell of the lobby at Poly... or the smellof carosel of progress or that the song "Aquarias" reminds me of the People Mover from the early 80's.... all thos weird things that trigger great Disney memories!!

Just had to share that - i knew if there was anyone that would appreciate and relate to that story, it would be my obsessed friends here on The DisBoards!!! Have A GREAT day!!!

Glad to know I am not alone. Now I can tell DH that there are others out there just like me!

Yesterday me and the kids were in the car (off to get pizza) and we were listening to the Magic in the Streets CD. I looked over at my two teenagers and said...this is a sickness you know...I have turned you into Disney freaks. DD and DS both looked at me and said THANK GOODNESS! Then DS commented how DH just doesn't understand-I told them it is because DH was not brought up on Disney-he tries, but he will never have the passion and love for Disney that the rest of us do.

Amen to that!! Thank goodness our kids have had "good" influences - I am a Disney Freak and will be forcing my views (Love of all things Disney) on our children weather they like it or not!!!!
Believe me - there are far worse things in life to force on them - There is just no substitute for Disney!!

Good Evening, fellow DIS-holics! Summer vacation is right around the corner, and that means my DISboard time wil be drastically INcreasing!!!!!! So-what great threads have I missed the past few weeks? Any good topics/threads come to mind?? awaits.......

WOW!! All I can say is that since DH and I decided that we were going to plan a WDW Vacation.... I AM OBSESSED with DisBoards!!! I can't get enough!! We are on school vacation this week and find myself parked infront of the LapTop checking and rechecking, posting and reposting on The Dis!!!! I will go off and do this or that and as I walk by my "User CP" page, I refresh and see whats going on!!! Maybe take a quick peek at one board or another...

Its 1:04 PM and I still haven't showered!! I have to at some point because I need to go to the post office, run to the grocery store and maybe .

I just can't get enough and our trip is over a year away!! I am so excited! Whats wrong with me - The Dis is running my life!!!

Is there anyone else out there that would like to begin a DA (Dis'ers Anonymous) or Dis-a-non Support Group??

Ok - found something to pull me away for a few - a poopy diaper awaits!!

Ok, I'm with you on this one. I just started reading the DIS Boards in May. Since then, (no lie here), I actually have carpal tunnel in my right wrist (mouse hand). I have had problems in the past, since I type all day at work. However....it has never been this bad. I just can't help myself though. I guess I'm a lost cause. I'm probably going to have to get a wrist brace. It just goes to show, we love our DIS

Hello everyone!! School is officially out for the kids.. I still have a few days left to wrap upi the year and I am out for the summer!! You know what that mean - full days of The Dis!! Forget the beach, housework, laundry, or heck - forget the kids!! LOL I will proobably devote one or maybe two days to the house and laundry, as it has suffered badly during the end of the school year - more insentive to get it done and get it done quickly, so I can fully dedicate myself to The Dis Boards!! Looks like the new house thing didn't work out, so we may be goung to Disney afterall!! I am always dream and plan can't I??

SO just because school is out, I have not found the time and i am so wanting to devote to The Dis!! Here I was thinking that once school was out, I would be able to plop my big butt infront the the laptop, avoid laundry and ishes, ward off the mess-makers and evil do-ers to each others (AKA Children), but i have not been successful! Swimming lesson have taken over our 8:45 AM slot, right thru til 11 AM, then comes transferring the beloved offspring to my mom, travel back to work to finish and tie up year end business, go back to meet the younguns, continue home, make a stop at the grocerie sore, make dinner, finish up housework and housey stuff and back to bed. Only to do it all over again!! AHHH! Oh, did I mention that DH was "fixed" yesterday, so I have had to deal with him on a whole different leval!!! He finally has a little bit more sympathy for the whole child birth thing now. That is the closest thing to childbirth he will EVER experience!!

Ok, enough rambling from me, I was just checking in with everyone here on The DIS to see what all my fellow addicts are up to and how their summers are going!!!
