we are about 4 points short so the only other way in is to have a job offer, and they are easy to get until the employer realises he has forms to fill in for immigration...

You are going to LOVE that trip! I'm from Western Canada and it really is one of the most beautiful places on earth And what a great deal you got!!!

Can I ask those of you who want to go live in Canada, why do you want to leave the UK? And where do you want to live in Canada? DH and I are always changing our minds about whether to stay or go (its been 6 years and we're still here )

Netty: It's a shame you're 4 points short...do you speak any french? If you could learn a bit of french you'd probably get those points made up in no time.

That's a really great trip you've booked and I can't believe the price - brilliant!!

DH and I did a similar trip for our honeymoon and had a fab time - the train trip is amazing with gorgeous scenery!!

Well if you want any advice on Edmonton i'm your girl, I was born and raised there It is a lovely city to raise a family, lots of festivals all year long. You just have to get past the snow! But at least the sun shines each day, no matter how cold it is!

I must be very lucky, because when Simon (DS) gets his permanent residence visa he could, after a while, sponsor me to emmigrate.

I am unlikely to do this though, because myself and Becky (DD) are still struggling to come to terms with the loss of DH, and she does not want to uproot to Canada so if I went she would lose all her family.

I will just have to take plenty of holidays!
