Here I am Cathrynrose  <---- What I looked like after last nights game!

I'm glad you only mentioned Saturday and Sunday night in your original post so I have to mention that "we'll see what the SOX think after Tuesday night, Wednesday night, Thursday night, Saturday night and Sunday night!"

You have to admit, the "stros are playing well, just not as good as those Sox.......YET!!!

SWEEP! SWEEP! SWEEP! SWEEP! SWEEP!

The Stos are not playing well. 5-6 times having a man on third, and not getting him home. Wrong pitches to the wrong players. mistakes in the field, highlighted last night by what should have been three errors in the 2d. The Stros do not look like a ws team right now. Maybe home park will help. If Roy is on his game, we will have Tuesday's game. Wednesday is iffy, but, if Bakke is on, they could pull it out. Thursday is scary, but, looking at the Rocket's history, if he is well enough to pitch, he will probably be nasty and unbeatable. If, of course, he is well.

But, even before the game started, I commented that the games should be played in conditions that don't suck. last night, they sucked....I think its BS (and not sour grapes) that baseball is played in the rain at 40 degrees. I know both teams endured, etc., but, for the biggest games of the year, for both teams, MLB should ensure that either the parks can guarantee a stable weather environment, or, if they can't, the teams play elsewhere.

I agree it looked like miserable conditions to play such a big game. Too bad Chicago doesn't have a covered stadium like Houston does.....

Can't believe the missed opportunities for the Astros - we went to bed at the 7th inning stretch - when it was 4-2 AStros! Imagine our surprise this morning.......

Better luck in Houston!

Let's not forget when Dye was up to bat. The pitch that sent him to first base, making all the bases loaded, hit his bat and not his arm! Really really bad call! Maybe I'm just upset because the stros lost... Oh well, this is still the best season ever for us houstonians! The stros have really made up for the embarrassing Texans... 0-6??? Are you kidding me???

The White Sox are starting to look like the Red Sox of 2004 -----A team of destiny!

In the pre-game on Saturday night, they even referred to the ChiSox fans as "White Sox Nation".

I agree...I'm a little nervous about Tuesday's game...I hear your pitcher can be pretty nasty...Should be a great baseball game!

I was at the game on Saturday and that park was just electric!!!

I doubt even after we sweep the Astro's (OK maybe you will have Tues.'s game) the CWS will get any respect. Especially here in Chi Town, my DH saw a guy here with a leather jacket that had 2 patches on it with the dates the Cubs went to the WS on it and he was wearing an Astro's WS hat????

I watched that pitch where Dye supposidly got hit and you really can't blame the umps for calling that the way they did, now if they used replay.....

I was listening to ESPN this morning and they were saying how in football you have to have a time out left to dispute a play, so how useful is their replay??

Anyway I'll be watching the rest of the games on pins and needles. Love my WHITE SOX!!

During last nights game they showed a picture of how the cubs and sox are divided by north and south and that there were two diff. socioeconomic cultures, one being more middle to upper class. Which is which? Not that it matters... just curious b/c I know nothing about Chicago except for Oprah, hot dogs, and that we're playing them in the World Series. Oh, and that according to Roger Clemens "shopping"... he said the team wives were excited that they were against the Sox, mostly because they had an excuse to go to Chicago to shop...

PULEEESE!!! They should have a stable weather environment????? Do you see football, soccer or any other players complaining about bad weather????? Poor baseball players make millions of dollars to play a game and it might be cold or raining? Give me a break!!!!!!!!!!! If Houston is in the 80's/90's and has heat and humidity, should be say "Oh, I can't play because it's too HOT?? What do you think they do all summer?

Yes, I live in the Chicago burbs now, so I am a little biased, but I was not born and raised here and don't care who is playing. :cheer2:
Go White Sox!!

The Cell is on the South Side of Chicago, in what used to be a traditionally blue collar neighborhood. Not to mention, the public housing projects were right across the freeway from the park. Now, the area just to the north of the cell, is Bridgeport, where Mayor Daily's family lived for years, which is very nice. While the north side of Chicago is closer to the loop and the universities.

So, they claim that Cubs fans are blue-bloods, and Sox fans are blue-collar. While that may have been true many years ago, not so much any more. Many of today's fans are born and raised Sox fans, and while their parents may have been blue-collar, many are college educated. So the old adage doesn't really hold today.

I was at the game on Sat night too. I agree, even if we win the Series, we'll still be the number 2 team in Chi-town. The local media is so biased here, it's sick. The CA media gave us more respect in the Angels series than any of the Chicago papers.

Oh well. The Sox seem to relish being the underdog, so GO SOX!!!!!!!!!!!

True, true, true - during any regular season, the Cubs could be losing left and right - but they'll still get plenty more airtime during sports, on any station!

FINALLY! It's alllll about the SOX! (only cuz the Cubs aint playing, though!!)

When its 80 or 90 degrees, we play in the a/c, like normal people :rotfl:

I just think its a shame that a game that is important could be tainted by weather. Not that it was last night, I am not blaming the loss on the weather, etc. But, it is a shame to see the conditions so bad for a game so important.

Re: The bad call, I don't think it lost the game. Plus, these umps are better than the ones we had last series. And, if the Sox couldn't get bad calls to go their way, they probably would not be in the w/s. :earseek:

Re: Roy, he has a fastball that is about 95-97 for the game, with change/curve etc. that is about 20mph slower. His control is usually excellent. Plus, he is a fast pitcher, no lag time.

I hear mlb will make the call on the roof. I think that's bs too. Astros stadium, Astros call. When the roof is closed, you can't hear yourself think. When open, its almost there, but not all the way due to the open roof.

The wind when the roof is open swirls more, as the stadium is closed in.

But, I can almost guarantee that none of our fans are going to be pulling the hair of ladies with sox outfits on, harrasing fans, etc. like you guys did to the Astros fans in attendance.

Congrats to the Sox!!!! I was so glad to hear former Brewer Scott Podsednik had the game-winning homerun!!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :teeth: :teeth:

wow! this happened??? I can also guarantee this would not happen in Houston... I was definitely pleased with the crowd in attendance downtown when we beat the cardinals. Never been to a game in chicago, but I can promise you we are a city with class. Hopefully, the hair pullers stay put and the chicagoans (??lol) with good sportsmanship visit.
